  • This morning I was usually able to redeem 2, but it said bonus 6 on my receipt so it seemed like more than double this weekend. Total 8 collected.

You get bonus characters for buying certain brands and products, eg Arnott's Cruskits, Masterfoods spices and sauces, Colgate, Bref, TipTop, etc.

      • Ah okay! Makes sense then. Thanks!

My mother in law just gave my kids a heap now there are bits of them all over the house….thanks mum in law

  • May I ask how much did you spend in this transaction? Thanks.

    • You can work it out, $270-$299.

  • Didn’t get any from an online order even though receipt says “automatically applied” and no option to opt out.

  • I just sold a bunch unopened on marketplace. I see it as a discount on my groceries.

    • How much for?

      • 7 for $5 - I wanted to flip them quick. I just put stuff of low value like that on the front step and ask the person to put cash under the door mat, haven’t had any problems so far. Some people are listing them for $1 or $2 each but no idea if they are selling successfully.

        • Yeah I had a peek on eBay out of curiosity and people selling individual (opened) characters for $1, Harry Potter for $5.

          • @wavesgreen: Interesting. I wasn’t sure if it was better to open them or not. I figured this way was minimal time investment for me. Whole process took about 2mins. I find it convenient flipping small things like this for cash so I have physical cash on hand. Did the same with the coles stoneware promo. But actually bought coles master chef knives off marketplace for $5 as they are pretty good knives.

@morse: Wait, people actually buy this shit? I've just been saying no thanks because no use for it. Do people buy the Woolies stickers too?

              • +1

@pennypincher98: Yup, they sure do. Not sure re the Woolies stickers as I haven’t tried. But definitely the Harry Potter cards. Easier to sell in the middle of the promotion than after I expect.

@pennypincher98: Yup, it’s a big business…remember the limited edition Woolies furry Ooshies? 😅

@ne-us: Weren't people only selling the rare ooshies?
Thought with the rising cost of living and all that people wouldn't be paying so much for cardboard and stickers but will definitely collect them next time 😂

                  • @pennypincher98: Probably easier to buy the remaining ones to get the set than spend an extra money at the shops to get doubles or triples. 👍

  • You got 64? Assuming you got double and 1 for every $30 spend, isn’t that:
    (64/2)*$30=$960 of groceries?

    • 40 standard and 22 bonus.

I was focusing on the bonus builder brands and things that are on special. I had the time to spilit my shop over 4 purchases.
I spent under $140 for 66 builders. Though $61 for the first 44 builders sounds way better.

      I spent $30.20 and got 22 builders.
      2nd reciept $30.95 for another 22.
      3rd reciept $32.55 for 16
      Last reciept $46.68 for 6.

I scan all the items that get bonus builders through in seperate transactions. There is a limit of 1 bonus builder per brand.
So John West Tuna 1/2 price $1.15e, I get 4 for my daugters lunches.
4 on 1 receipt = 1 bonus builder. Or 1 on each receipt (over $30) = 4 bonus builders. 8 this week with the double offer.

Chobani yogurt 1/2 price $1.25, 4 for hubby's lunches for the rest of the week. Same for $1.05 Dine cat foods.
Tissues and toilet paper scanned on different reciepts.

No way is my husband patient enough to wait for me to split the shop, but if you have the time and want the builders, it works out well.
Same items on 1 reciept would normally be 14 builders, 28 during the double offer this week, or 66 for splitting the shop.

More entries to win a trip to London too I guess. Fingers Crossed.
