According to 3xcamels not the lowest ever but still a good price.

I didn't buy this as I'm waiting for something with ceramic grinders, but from the reviews it seems to be really decent score at this price point.

Note: limited delivery areas. Ships to metro but not regional (unless anyone knows a hack)

    • Thanks so much for posting this, bought the Primadonna soul when TGG had 15% off on the 27th now get 6kg coffee too!

  • How does this compare to a breville touch?

    • Not comparable, one is an auto, one is a manual. You'll always get better results with a decent manual.

But the barista touch isn't that much better than an express, so it's really a budget machine

If you're going to go the trouble of making espresso manually, just get a Breville dual boiler and pull slayer shots. Of course you'll need a really good grinder to go with it.

I got one of these about 3 years ago. It's been an absolute workhorse and still going strong today. We must do 6-8 runs a day through it. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

    • What beans and settings would you recommend? I bought a kilo of ALDI medium roast and find them a bit lacking

Try stargazer, change shot volume to 20-25ml and use single shot twice

Then play with the strength dial, I've found anywhere from 70% to 100% gives the best results

As for grind setting slowly change that if you're still not happy, anywhere between 1-4, my personal choice is on 3

        • I agree. Two small shots makes it plenty strong.

      • I turn the dial about 90%. I use either https://www.hillbillycoffee.com.au/ (Psychobilly blend) or https://inglewoodcoffeeroasters.com.au/ (Roosevelt)

    • can attest to this. Have 1 at work, 1 at home, and brought the inlaws one as well. Work one gets pounded daily, still going strong after 4+ years (we do have it serviced).

      Agree!
I've got one a few years ago before Covid. Still running strong! Easy to clean too.
Took a while to setup the right grind and flavour and beans mix. Love mine!
My current fav is the Lavazza Dark Roast blend. Always 50% at Coles/Woolies

  • Can someone comment on milk frother?
Can you leave the pot flat and let the frother work or do you have to hold the pot up.
I checked in shop and seemed you have to hold it

It's a standard steam wand. You need to adjust the height depending on the milk texture and froth you want.

    • Get a breville with the auto wand if you don't want to froth it yourself

    • You have to hold the jug up… The wand sits too high up unless you put something on the base to boost the height of the jug

      • I have an older model and use a masking tape roll. Works perfectly. Also can fit on a hook if you don't want the clutter on the bench

        • I wonder if that works with the current model, I see no reason it shouldn't.

Got one of these back in 2016 for $559.

Does anywhere between 3 and 10 cups a day in our household, never had any problems and still going strong.

  • Mine stopped working after 3 years. Mind you i never did any proper servicing or cleaning like the instruction tells me to, but still got it repaired under warranty and its working just fine 1 year after repair.

  • What number you guys using on the grinder to make a latte? I can't get it right, it just too watery when the coffee come out, not enough coffee oil when I use this machine. I uses the same coffee beans on a different brand machine and the oil comes out is perfect.

    • Which other machine? Apparently 3rd finest setting

      • Thanks! I've tried with the Breville.

      Coffee oil?

      • The top dark layer after extraction, sorry I don't know the actual name to call that.

        • I only care about taste and possibly Crema, the lighter coloured layer on top.

Oily beans usually means old stale beans.

  • What is this? A coffee machine for ANTS??

    From Amazon:
    Product dimensions ‎9.37 x 16.93 x 13.82 CENTIMETRES

= 2.1L of volume, and that also includes the 1.8L water capacity.
    Miniaturisation is alive and well

    • I didn't notice the dimensions. Thanks randomchecker

At this size i could probably find space on my kitchen bench. Ordered. Yay!

  • Well I had a change of heart and went to buy this…Amazon refuse to ship it to my area so it may be a major cities/east cost only deal.

What's the point of prime for us inland plebs

  • Also have this machine, had it for a few years. Makes a great coffee
