HDMI to Component Converter No Upscaling

  1. This HDMI to Component Adapter converts the HDMI input signal into analogue YPbPr video and R/L audio signal. NOT support in reverse use. It is to connect a device (such as a DVD player, game console, etc.) with HDMI output to a display/HDTV with component input.
  2. Compliant with HDMI 1.3, supports HDCP 1.2/1.3 and wide range resolutions for both HDMI and Component devices: 480P@60Hz, 576P@50Hz, 720P@50/60Hz, 1080p@50/60Hz. It does not support lower than 480i resolution.
  3. Use a 5 RCA YPbPr component video cable, and correctly insert the corresponding port.
  4. It is a point-to-point converter, the resolution that gets out is the resolution that is put in, it will not upscale. It does not have any upscaling capabilities to 720p or 1080p. If need to output clear picture quality recommended input source resolution is higher than 720p.
  5. It does not support 3D or 4K resolution, connect any 3D or 4K device and it will max only output 1080P@60Hz resolution.
  6. Real-time signal conversion without delay.

According to Camel the average price is $28.24 so it doesn't appear to be worthy of a post on Aus number one bargain website. More like using it for free advertising.

I disagree. I remember seeing deals here where people are saving cents off an item (literally) and that have been posted and upvoted to high heaven. However that aside, if this is the cheapest for this type of product, then its a deal and should be posted, regardless of the average price its been in the past.

I disagree. A post by a rep with a minimal saving and a post by a community are very different. If this behaviour was tolerated, we'd be spammed with small savings from reps.

I disagree, as often reps (in particular for Amazon stores) that post here already inflate the regular price to make their post to look like a deal and they are tolerated, so I don't feel this is going to do any such harm.

@Trishool: I disagree, they arnt always tolerated, they are often down voted

  • Does anyone still use component?

Seems like a very small market for these. Time for a TV with HDMI I think.

This is cheaper and appear to do same thing

    • TLDR - wrong. You’re doing a apples/oranges comparison.

The posted Portta device isn’t a scaler - it just converts the signal type but resolution stays the same. With a price of $20, I can guarantee you that the device you linked is a total piece of crap at scaling. Whereas the Portta output a high quality image and is a recommended device for retro gaming enthusiasts.

  • Excellent device for connecting modern source hardware to older displays. I use mine to connect PS5 and PC to a HD CRT at 1080i and 720p. Modern games look fantastic on it.

Use case aside, I deleted my receipt but pretty sure I paid pretty much this exact price without any sort of discount, a couple months ago.
