We used to get that from Big Rooster in Brisbane before it was bought out by Red Rooster. Good times…
My local was called Chicken World before it became Big Rooster if I recall correctly. That's going back a long time ago. The quarter chicken and chips used to come in an aluminium container with a little waxed cardboard lid over it that folded in under the container corners.
That was around 1990-1992, I remember it well

Had this for lunch today.. I bought 3 of these to share with 2 adults and 2 children (1yo and 3yo).I would not recommend. Chips was an under filled small chips bag inside the box, and the "quarter" chicken was a very small drumstick with half a thigh… not even enough meat for a sandwich. Im a bit peeved.. but, it could be that I am still hungry? buy a whole chook from the supermarket and then some chips from somewhere else.. will be better value.
Yeah i was doing this for lunch (2 people) when i was working on site last year for server upgrades. Woolies was close by so would by a chicken (woolies) and chips fish&chip shop.
exactly, I don't find this to be a good deal. Quarter chicken size is quiet small, chips are too little. I would spend the money on better value deals.

Rookie mistake. You always order 1/4 chicken with the wing so you get the succulent meaty breast piece
