    • Can you provide some details?

  • i'm currently with Belong nbn and using the router provided by Belong
i think the modem hardware is Sagemcom 4353 ASDL/2+

can i use this modem / router with Exetel?

    • Hey DarthLord , Yes, you may use this modem/router with Exetel, only if it's not the locked one & you would need to reconfigure the modem by yourself as Exetel will provide limited troubleshooting.

  • @Manyo does this have to be an existing connection that is swapped to Exetel? Or will a new connection through the link also count? I am moving into a new rental property. Thanks.

    • Hey Jstar, as you mentioned you are moving to new rental property, yes you are eligible and may signup for this deal.

  • Is it true that Exetel aren’t charging the $200 fee from NBN for flip to fibre upgrades if the plan is downgraded or after swapping to another provider within 12 months?

  • I already have a exetel nbn service, can I still receive $100 if I sign up for a different premises?

    • Hey stevenx, yes you are eligible and may signup for this deal if you are signing up for different premises.

  • I'm trying to sign up but when I get to third stage where you enter the CC details it gives an error of "Please enter valid card number or valid cvv" I've tried with 2 different cards but still same error.

    • Hey fufufu, kindly contact Econnex Comparison on 1800 13000 or e-mail us at [email protected] or you may DM us your phone number, our team member will contact you ASAP to resolve the issue you are facing.

  • Okie this sounds good, I just got off the phone with superloop and cancelled my service. They offered $5 per month, but that is not good enough, their new customers are getting a better deal. Can I sign up for this deal with a future date in mind? My superloop Internet is active until early next month. Or should I just apply next month?

EDIT: I put in future date, too easy :)

I signed up with your deal and faced immediate issue with my internet service. I waited for 30 minutes on hold and only go through 3 of 20 people waiting. I then wanted to cancel my order with you due to dodgy service and have decided to return to Aussie Broadband. I spoke to a lady who advised i cannot do that as exetel do not have a cooling off period. She advised me Exetel do not have a cooling off period. I advised by Australian law I am allowed to change my mind if the product is faulty. She then cold transferred me to a technician to which i did not want to do. This is probably the worst experience i've had and I'm very mad at this decision.

    • I had similar thoughts, but now am okay with Exetel.
See my comment as response to below post.

    • I wouldn’t do it again, as I realised after submitting details that I was giving my details to a third party company (for $100, which may or may not come, will know in 90 days) and not the actual provider (Exetel) directly.

      • Expect a lot of spam emails and phone calls. No company gives away that much to each customer without something in return. You'll probably get all the door knockers swarm to your house like zombies too lol

        • I agree.

I am prepared to handle all unwanted spam/emails or door knocks.

NOTE: Point to note for everyone else that’s signing up

  • Lots of mixed reviews of Exetel but I'm still tempted.

I'm with mate atm but my auto network speed checks have shown great variability and they are definitely not as good as my previous ISP.

Anyone been with mate now on Exetel or just with exetel now and have feedback. Also wondering is it local or offshore support?

    Thanks

    • I applied yesterday, and got connected to Exetel NBN today morning. It straightaway didn’t connect well. I had to speak to tech support, and was told that Exetel is on PPPoE, so set this in my router settings and then it was all good.

My net is up now, and just checked the speed and it shows around 54Mbps, for my 50/20 plan. So I’m happy.

      • Thanks great feedback, do you think it was local support or offshore?

        • +1

I think it’s offshore from the accent of the tech support person, but it’s also possible that they maybe local. But, did the tech support solve my problem, I would say yes. So that’s good enough for me.

          Some points to note:
          Tech support is not 24/7
I had to wait for 25-30 minutes, while I started as 11th person in the queue

        • When exetel were privately owned the call centre was in Sri Lanka and they had names and photos of all their support staff on their website.. Pretty unique. And they were super helpful.

Not sure if it's the same as it used to be now they have been bought out.

  • Is this no lock-in contract?

    • Hey grunkun, no Exetel plans do not have a lock-in contract.

  • Sign up page keep saying my card or cvv number is invalid?

    • Hey omguleh, kindly sign-up through incognito mode, if you still face any issues, please reach us on 1800 13000 or e-mail us at [email protected]

  • signed up on a late date transfer, had to 1day early as no weekend connection.

"Payments made by Credit Card incur a 1% transaction fee", hope VISA debit card is no extra fee.

    • Hey test8888, kindly DM us your reference number, in order to track your application.

Ported across to exetel tonight to take advantage of this deal. Very easy process. You just need to remember to enter the username/password under the PPPoE settings. The username and password is provided in a 2nd email once the service is activated.

I had a look in the portal but i couldnt find any CVC info. Does anyone know how to find this or do they still not publish it?

  • Can I use a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 which i presume is locked to Telstra on Extel?

People have said you need to add username and password PPOE but not sure how to do or of possible on this modem?
I'm used to Aussie Broadband ABB when I switched to it. I just had to switch the modem on and off to connect to ABB. Thanks

    • I am using their Gen1 modem… you just need to login into ur modem and add those details.

  • dang missed out :(

  • Hmm, signed up for connection today and still nothing so far. Lucky I've got about one more week of Telstra left

    • Hey mate! Kindly share your reference number, in order to track your file and investigate the issue.

      • Thanks, have pmed

  • Connected today and it has been down all day so now have to wait until Monday for them to see what's up.

Have one of those Gen 3 Telstra Smart modems not sure if that's the issue but all green lights on there and the NBN box. Have churned through various providers using the same setup without any issues. Have tried the gen 2 as well but no cigar. Strange one.

    • Just thought I post this in case someone here is trying to use a Telstra Smart Modem with Exetel.

The Telstra one has worked fine with Superloop, Aussie Broadband/Origin and Dodo thus far but I just couldn't get it to work properly with Exetel (a lot of buffering, sites/apps not loading and connection dropping out etc).

Instead hooked up the NBN box directly to the Tenda Nova and added the Exetel PPPoE username and password provided and it's all good now.
