It is for property owners. But, be warned, properties that are not standalone (Apartments, units, duplex) you may have a bad time. One of my properties is a unit within a strata. One of the owners experienced damage from a storm almost 2 years ago. The outside is covered by the strata insurance, the inside is covered by the homeowners insurance. The outside was repaired relatively quickly, but the inside is still to be repaired. This is due to an ongoing argument of responsibility between the insurer (Coles) and the strata. The insurer wants the strata to pay for it, even though it's in the contract that it is internal (and therefore to the homeowners insurance, not the strata insurance).
Your results may vary for an isolated structure, but this reason enough for me not to use them for my home.Not every internal can be covered by building insurance. Eg. If it is fixed internally like glued flooring then it will be building insurance. Vanity damage will be content insurance.
Also this promo is for coles building insurance also so you are unlikely to get this if you live in a strata property. Coles will not allow it as far as I checked last time.
Is roughly $30 per month the minimum premium that a person has to pay ? I tried out a few different options in different quotes and couldn't appear to get below this.
I'm just interested in getting the points & then immediately cancelling the cover … lol … but to get the points it appears you have to keep the policy in force for 45 days, which would mean paying $60 in premiums, so the "profit" is only $40.
They absolutely will have minimum premiums.
