Mechpro Blue 70pc Chrome Vanadium Screwdriver Set $24 + $9.90 Delivery ($4.45 for Ignition Member/ $0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Repco

1080

Works out to an unbelievable $0.34 / piece. Picked one of these up yesterday.

Quality and reviews are solid and the blow-mould case is very sturdy. Added bonus that this kit comes with some sockets, a handy, retractable magnetic screw retriever tool and a voltage tester.

I got these to replace the ol' OzB favourite Stanley set with the horrible case. Can say, they work just the same, have good weight in them and are noticeably more magnetic.

At $24, can't go wrong!

  • Magnetic Tip Blades
  • Two tone colour
  • Cushioned grip handles
  • Chrome Vanadium Steel
  • Supplied in Blow mold case

Never be caught short looking for the right screwdriver when this 70 piece kit will have you never rounding off a screwhead again!. This gigantic screwdriver set is the ideal addition to any shed, garage or workshop. Featuring a huge variety of screwdrivers and bits ensures that this Mechpro Blue screwdriver set is the perfect solution for mechanics and the home handyman.

    At $24, can't go wrong!

100%. What an awesome deal. Will be perfect for the ute tools.

    • +1

Yep. A pretty complete set for $24!

  • +1

    Got one, thanks!

  • +5

Have this already, it's a great set for $24.

    • My thoughts when I picked one up yesterday too. Very sturdy, comfy feel.

  • +2

I just bought one via Click and Collect as that bendy bit extender looks useful.
    Thanks for posting..

    • yeah the flexible shaft looks quite multi-purpose

  • thank you ordered one set

  • Thanks OP.

  • +1

    Awesome… Thank you… Just Ordered

    • +2

Collected already… Nice little set…Very happy

      • +1

Yeah, they're really good considering the price!

  • Nice, got one too. Thanks.

  • +2

Adds to my collection of tools. I guess I need to change my trade to get all my tools in use. Still waiting for my Wera set to ship.

    • +1

In other words, "I probably don't need this, but I'll buy it anyway"…. 😝

  • +3

Got one thks least I didnt get screwed with this deal

  • Looks like a good set, but $10 shipping and crappy locations/opening hours for in store kills it. I guess local mechanics will keep them in business until Amazon/Ebay kill them off.

    • +2

Guessing you don't live in a metro area? Might be luck of the draw, but there are 3 stores within 10km of me…

      • +1

Actually, it was 3 that I knew of…. Just checked the store locator, there are 5 locations within 10km of me!

    • +3

Join Repco ignition ….free and usually $4.95 shipping ……

      • For 5 bucks you'd be lucky to be able to drive to your local store and back with current fuel prices. :P

      • Repco ignition just means having an account to login to the site - I haven't checked to see if purchasing can be done any other way, but I had to join twice with separate email addresses to work this out and also the fact that some products don't seem to apply, this being one of them. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

        • Okay you have to apply a code for it to reduce the shipping costs. The Repco ID doesn't work (for me) but the email address does, and you can mix and match email addresses, if you have two Repco (AKA Ignition) accounts. Seems like a waste of time. As soon as you log in, the discounted delivery should automatically apply without this redundant step.

Repco site is crap. Now showing as $49 in the cart.

    PayPal issues as well

    • +3

I have ordered a set and paid by Paypal 20 minutes ago, no issue at all.

    • Had the same issue on my mobile phone, used a PC and correct price and Ignition delivery discount then worked

    • same issue for me just now, had to use a different browser.

    • Can change your name to SCAdave

  • I don't need one because my Aldi set is still going strong, but ordered it anyways.

    • Congratulations…

      • +4

Thankyou, this means a lot to me. I am so happy for you to have defeated Cholesterol.

        • I'm not Cholesterol though. I am Cholesterol-Free, which means you have now defeated your own health

Could always do with a full set of screw drivers in another part of the house/garage/garden shed. Saves having to walk back and forward eh?
Don't you hate it when you are looking for the phillips No.4 and it is in the friggin shed, cos you couldn't be bothered putting it back in your tool box in the washing room, after using it last.

    • Sounds like you have a big house. My small house equivalent is having to reach for the remote on the coffee table…

      • +1

You can never be too lazy. We used to have 2 remotes, one on each side of the sofa.

        • Bahahahahaha peak laziness!

  • +1

The price jumps back to $50 when checking out, assume the deal is gone

    • worked for me just now

      • +1

How weird. No matter what I do, the price stays $50 when checking out

        EDIT

Switched browsers. Potentially some plugin or just chrome shat itself. Worked on Edge

        • +1

Thanks for the tip! Worked for me as well after changing browser to Firefox on Linux.

    • Same issue for me on Android Chrome

  • Thanks OP, bought a set

  • +1

I've lost track of how many different screwdriver sets I've purchased thanks to OzBargain … how ever many + 1 now. Thanks OP… great price for the quantity of pieces.

    • +4

To be fair, if Supercheap Auto were selling this, they would include 30 cable ties and make it a 100 piece kit.

      • Care to share the link?

  • +1

    Screw it. Just bought one

  • Any recommendations for a cheap socket set to pair with this?

    • It comes with 9 metric and 9 imperial sockets, sizes in OP.
No handle though (except for screwdriver handle) so won’t be useful if you require a bit of torque.

Toolpro is worth checking out if you want a cheap and decent set, lifetime warranty as well. Bahco is also nice if you want to spend a bit more.

      • It's my understanding it only comes with the socket attachments, but not the ratchet /spanner/socket wrench/whatever its called.

*i see you made an edit right as i replied. So now my comment looks a little silly.

        • Yeah sorry, it was a ninja edit.

  • Thanks OP ordered one i have plenty of slotted screws to remove old hinges next few weeks to sand down and re paint

  • Just ordered for C&C, thanks OP

  • thanks - bought

  • Can the screw bits be locked into a lithium driver ?

    • Yep! They're just standard bits so you can reuse them with any driver/extender etc.

  • thanks op nice find, I just bought one as well

  • Purchased. Going to throw away all the old worn ones.

Now for a decent socket set…..

  • +2

After ordering this yesterday it was already waiting for me when I got home from work.

Kudos to Auspost. They usually send my mail via Warumungu for a week before forwarding it to me. Impressed.

  • +1

    Must resist…

    • +1

      $24….! Resistance is futile

      • +1

Ah, gave in and bought one, sigh

      • +2

Good thing it comes with a voltage tester then.

  • +1

I’m just here for the banter

  • +1

The one I ordered on Friday and picked up it was found to be missing the Flexible Shaft so I took it back, unfortunately they had no more in stock but more on order.
Can people that have this kit please confirm if it has the Flexible Shaft item in the kit?
    Thks…

    • +1

      Yep it does

    • +2

Can confirm mine came with the flexi adaptor.

    • Certainly does… Mine did

  • Thks..

  • +2

My screw drivers turned up today

    • Do you like them?

      • For 24 dollars they are alright good to put in the car for long regional trips.

Not sure how you rate screwdrivers..

Like its good to have a set for DIY if you dont own one or have odd bits here and there

Guy at my local repco was scratching his head wondering why he received so many single orders of this screwdriver set, on the one day. The power of ozbargain never cease to amaze me.

    • +1

The power of demand persuaded me to get one despite initially I tried to resist and tried to save.

OzB favourite Stanley set with the horrible case

Plus one to the OP's description, convinced many ozbargainers to buy, including myself.

The power of ozbargain never cease to amaze me.

There were recent post that claims many people don't know about ozbargain. There are enough members (enough members that will mobilise all at the same time) on ozbargain to even slow down oversea websites like US.
