Everyone has their own taste I suppose.
IMO one of the best Action RPGs ever done.
I mean it's an anime RPG, surely you didn't go in expecting great writing. Gameplay is fun and that's what matters.
I've always heard good things about this, good chance to give it a spin.

I've only played Ys I & II but they were really good and I've only heard good things about this one
I like it though.
Time travelling and multiple timeline make this generation pretty outstanding, comparing other Ys games
I can still hear the soundtrack to this game. It was the first I had played in the series. I was looking forward to Monstrom Nox, but was disappointed with it in comparison.
Agreed, I couldn't wait to finish Monstrum and just wanted to say I was done. Plus the game was so rare and expensive..
I really enjoyed this game, even though the Switch version wasn't the best but it was still playable.
Tbh i thought it was hugely overrated.
I didn't know what to think when i first saw Dogi walk past in a cutscene. Broomstick up the butt. I was waiting for confirmation that they were taking the piss but it never came. The cutscenes are genuinely awful, work-experience-kid effort at best
And the traitor chapter was probably the most awful and cliched (badly) rpg chapter I've ever experienced.
The rest was ok.. a time filler. Never excelling.
I'd give it a 6 out of 10, dipping to a 4 at it's worst
