      I found the xm5 to inferior to the xm4 in terms of sound quality, maybe it was just me :/

    I would suggest going to your local JB and trying them out. I was set on getting the XM5 but after trying them on alongside the XM4 I settled on the QC45, they fit my ears much better

    Tried both instore, found the sound to be of good quality and the ANC serviceable on both but to me (wide head) the QC45 is more comfortable (important as I wear them all day at work).

    A big plus for the XM4 IMHO is that it has three modes - aware, passive and active noise cancellation but while powered on the QC45 has only aware and ANC.

  I have tried both in store as well m, found the Sony to be more comfortable for me…
