    Isn’t this 2019 model?

    • +2

Not sure but we are up to the K series now and J series was 2021.

    • +3

You are correct, it was released in 2019.

    • +10

Yeah, 2019. Probably doesn’t have hdmi 2.1, VRR, outdated software and panel.

Sorry, not to rain on OPs deal but if you’re gonna drop $4.5k on a TV…you may as well go for broke and get the latest and greatest or at least last years model.

A95K was down to $5k last month at 65” though -

True. Didn't realise it was that old.

        • I mean, for some this is the best - if you don't care about gaming, and want a big OLED TV, this is the one.

Isn't this the 2019 model? The 2021 A80J model is better?

  • It seems it does not have HDMI 2.1, Fantastic price and find though!

Ratings say it has 120hz. I just assumed that meant HDMI 2.1

      Edit: you're right. 120hz @ 1440p only.

For ages I was telling people to wait for HDMI 2.1 before buying expensive monitors or tvs if they had any interest in gaming and, at the time, I got a ton of feedback along the lines of 'just buy what you can today', 'you'll die always waiting for something better' etc. etc., which seem to be far and away most peoples opinion when it comes to waiting for new tech.

AFTER it's released people seem to regard 'last gen' tech as vastly inferior but before it gets released most people seem to regard 'new' tech as not worth waiting for. I think the conclusion is that many people just hate waiting for stuff.

Keep it up Talk them down to about $3000.

  • If only bitcoins prices are still up there….,I can afford this

    • This is only like a fraction of a bitcoin? Just sell half of one and you can get this, a PS5, sound system, etc.

  • I am on the hunt for a 77" OLED, don't care for gaming, and use nvidia shield as the interface. Would this be a good choice? It's very tempting.

  • Don't be obsessed with HDMI 2.1. unless you're a heavy gamer you usually be using the internal Android to paint the screen via streaming or you own home network or attached hd via USB. Fair enough if you're a demanding gamer but most are really not. Panel refresh rate and the Sony processor is the one to watch.

You don’t need to be a heavy gamer. Just a gamer. If you own or want a current Gen console, and it like playing games, then it’s probably worth waiting. Smooth and fast motion in games looks incredible, and for me reduces motion sickness.

      • +1

Yep. Even non-gamers can see the difference when I show them my 240hz vs 360hz monitors.
I can't even use a 60hz laptop for work without missing buttons now lol.

Considering there are still 30fps AAA games being released for the current generation I wouldn’t put that much stock in the importance of 120Hz support.

        • +1

What games? In my experience, I’ve you get used to smooth motion, it’s impossible to go back.

        • So the TV will be useless by next gen then? Also, some AAA games have 30 fps optional mode and some have 120. This TV takes away the option for using 4K120 and also lacks VRR. Not very gamer friendly considering the features available from competing TVs from 2019-2022.

This TV is for home theatre, streaming and FTA. Gamers should wait for A80J and C2 sales later this year.

Let's just say you would be able to talk the price down to at least 3.5K. Got a floor unit g1 77 for 3.8K. Just walk away if they don't accept and leave your number.

    • Time proved you right! Now that they’re asking $3888, what’s the magic number they might be bargained down to?

      • +1

It is all about the Sales manager's availability to approve the request from the floor agents and what YOU are willing to pay for it—not trying to time the stock price at the lowest point.
