I got the Ozito 170W one with 190 accessories for around $60 at Bunnings and it works really well…

    • My Dremel burnt out even though it had light use. Hesitant to spend that much money on a replacement that could fail just as easily again. Am considering the Ozito. Do you know if the EZ twist nose cap collar thread pitch & size is the same as the Dremel? I would like to use my right angle drive & drill press attachment. I know the shaft dimensions are the same. Also, there are reports that the Ozito gets very hot. Have you run it long enough to have experienced anything like that?

I don't have a Dremel to compare the attachment.
I've only run mine for maybe 5 mins at a time and it doesn't get hot then. I might only use it a few times a year, that's why I didn't want to pay too much.

      • dremel are different to all the other tools I have tried. not tried the ozito. imperial v metric I suspect.

My variable speed dremel died way too quick too. I got the cheap two speed off amazon the other day for $60

    • Can you use the dremel accessories in the Ozito?

      • +1

        apparently, yes.

Thanks! Was looking for a rotary tool but hadn't even thought of other brands.. will check out the Ozito.

@Devil: There seems to be a $39.98 version but with only 109 accessories.

If you're not happy with it, easy to return back to Bunnings.

The 190 kit is now $74.98

            • @jv: Does the $40 kit comes with a case? I would hope so but can't find any reference to it

              • @ryaan: only for the accessories.

                watch the video.

              • @ryaan: Looking at the video on the web page, the demonstrator shows the contents of the box. No case, so I guess the box becomes the case.

            • @jv: I've had that one for years and it's still going strong. It even works after my son left it in the garden for a few months.

While I do not doubt the superior quality of the Dremel brand, I am not sure if it has enough bang for buck. I have been using a $35 ( at the time ) Chinese clone for the last 12 months without any problems. Bought all attachments for peanuts and even a EZ twist nose cap.

  • This is a great price for this tool though.
I paid more for mine with fewer attachments and have run it for hours and hours. Still going very strong.

Go cordless, you won’t regret it.

    • How long does the battery last on average?

      • Depends on the battery

      • In researching it, before buying the corded - believe it's 15mins. That's okay for occasional uses but won't make sense for hobby related activities, which typically take 30mins to an hour. You'd need to pickup a spare battery, but that's adding $$. For interest - Bosch batteries do fit the Dremel. https://youtu.be/-Jpe3VZbhMU

    • cordless & commando is best…

    • Until the battery runs out.

    • I have a cordless dremel is 35 years old. been through three batteries, and a switch.

Didn’t know battery powered dremel exist 35 years ago

  • Hmmm. Bought a 3/36 for $179 a week ago. This is cheaper and has more accessories. Torn. Wondering whether I should return that and grab this. Decisions decisions.
