Are there any good credit card with no annual fees and points and insurance? Used to have Citibank one for a while which was great

    • +1

Define "good"? Without any additional benefits one card is pretty much the same as the next, and the only difference is the issuer, so pick the least worst bank ….

Having said that, the Coles "No Annual Fee Mastercard" (issued by Citibank/NAB) looks OK, and you get some FlyBuys. It supports Apple & Samsung pay, but not Google pay.

    • You're asking for features that mainly reserved for top tier credit cards but without annual fee? I'd like to know this as well.

    Comparison with current NAB offer

    • 110k vs 100k points on 3k spend in 60 days
    • 50k vs 40k points for keeping the card over 12 months
    • $195 first-year annual fee same for both
  • The points are delivered as follows:
110,000 bonus NAB Rewards Points when you spend $3,000 on everyday purchases in the first 60 days of account opening (credited to your points balance within 3 months of meeting the spend criteria), and
50,000 bonus NAB Rewards Points when you keep your card open for over 12 months (credited to your points balance within the 13th month). T&Cs, eligibility criteria, fees, and charges apply.

Your Website says " Points will be awarded on a tiered basis – 100,000 bonus points when you spend $3,000 on everyday purchases in the first 60 days (credited to your points balance within 3 months of meeting the spend criteria) and 40,000 bonus points after 12 months (credited to your points balance within the 13th month) "

  • Damn I literally signed up for signature card on NAB website yesterday for 100k points. Worth it to cancel application and re-apply via The Champagne Mile for 10k points?

    • I wouldn't. It would have hit your credit file already only for 10k more.

      • +1

Good point. I'll leave the application as it is. Thank you.

        • No worries, someone negged you for some reason? Ive + to make it 0 again.

  • Eligibility Information
This bonus Points offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive bonus Points from a personal NAB Rewards credit card in the last 12 months or those transferring from another NAB credit card account.

So does this mean 12 months from the date I received the bonus points from my previous NAB Rewards credit card (rather than 12 months from the closure of that credit card)?

    • Hi there, I'll query this and provide an update here when I hear back.

      • +1

Hi, I signed up to one of your NAB Qantas promos that offered 20k bonus Qantas points for first-time holders of a card that earns Qantas points.

I was a first-time holder, but am struggling to get the 20k points. NAB is pointing me to Qantas, and Qantas are saying they had some kind of campaign I had to sign up to.

But I clicked on the link on your website to sign up.

Would you be able to help me out? I’ve emailed you guys for over a month, but no reply.

        • Hi there, I'm sorry to hear you've experienced problems. I'll send you a message now, happy to escalate on your behalf if it is something we can assist with.

  • Any idea how much are the points going to be worth in exchange for gift cards?

    • The first year sign-on bonus of 110,000 NAB Rewards Points is worth $550 in airline, hotel and package bookings with Webjet, over $500 in gift cards, $440 in Cashback or 55,000 Velocity Frequent Flyer Points.

  • If I recently opened one credit card in June (with Suncorp), is it still too early to apply for this?
How long should I wait before I apply again for churning purposes?

    • +1

Just closed my ANZ cc yesterday after getting my QFF pts, applying for this one today. Been doing for years too, waiting makes sense if you're applying for the same card and within the cooling off period which is usually 12 months.

      • Thanks mate. May I request whether you can let me know when you get approved?

    • +2

Well, ignore this, because I thought it was the qantas card! Here are the gift cards:

$395 of profit after meeting spend requirements
      + $590 Coles gift cards
      - $195 annual fee

      $250 x 2, $50 x 1, $20 x 2 in Coles gift cards, $590 total, with 270 points remaining.
      $250 x 2, $50 x 1 in Woolworths gift cards, $550 total, with 7,970 points remaining.

  • Can anyone please confirm whether NAB considers the gift card purchases as 'Cash advance' from online e.g, NRMA, Shopback and Cashrewards when buying using the credit card? I may buy the gift cards to meet the spend criteria.

    • +3

No they don't. I've never seen a credit card/bank consider purchasing gift cards as a 'Cash Advance'.

      • That's really good to know. Thanks.
I was going through their T&C and realised it could be under 'Cash advance' category, so wanted to get it confirmed.

  • $565 profit. Great experience with NAB and was very easy to close my card and annual fee refund is currently processing.

  • It looks like the $20 gift cards have been removed from the rewards store from what I can see. Has anyone else noticed this?
