Check your local laws as you might as well be "driving an unregistered vehicle on the footpath" in some states!

    • it sux, why downvote him. hes right

  • +1

    100kg load only

    • +8

      Yeah fatty

      • +2

You can't ride two up I mean

Anyway most of the rugby league players would weigh than that especially with a backpack

        • +1

…most of the rugby league players would weigh…

I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to ride this on the pitch.

        • +3

I think my wife plus my girlfriend are both skinny enough to ride together.
But you're right, I can't ride them both. lol

  • Does it being a kick scooter change anything regarding laws?

  • Can you fold the scooter ?

  • -1

SA rules = Illegal to ride in public

    • But there are heaps for rent in Adelaide!! Purple and orange ones

  • How would something like this go carting a 115kg person up a hill? Asking for a mate…

    • +2

My curiosity sent me searching around. It’s rated to 100kg and suggests it can cope with 10%. So, depending on the incline, eh, maybe at 115kg.

The other thing is that this is the most basic of the budget line (D-series) with the 18 suggesting it has a range of 18km, which I would expect to be “under ideal conditions.”

    • +2

I'm about that weight with a similar scooter, needs a manual kick up hills.

    • Ok fatty

    • I put about 150kg on mine and still hits top speed easy, no good uphill tho

  • +4

How come nothing on ALDI's page tells us its max speed and range etc.
Someone is doing a poor marketing job.

    https://eu-en.segway.com/products/ninebot-kickscooter-d-seri…
    it's max 25km/h, 18km range, 3.5hr to charge and 14.8kg itself

  • Would they sell this in NSW and, what is it like over bumps?

  • +1

I live close to Sydney city and there are a lot of people using electric scooters to commute to and from work. Yes, they’re technically illegal, but they shouldn’t be and a lot of people don’t care. I'm giving this one a go.

Only just tested it quickly so far, but for a scooter with no suspension it gives quite a smooth and comfortable ride. It does struggle with hills (I'm 85kg), but that's to be expected. I'll be interested to see the range I get and whether it slows down or becomes sluggish as the battery charge decreases.

    • Does this have the screw holes on the stem for an after market bag hook (like other Segway models)? Google isn’t super helpful… haha

  • Hi all
Bought one of these recently (SA) and cannot get it to do 25kph, despite double-pressing the middle button as in the manual.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Cheers

    • Nvm had to watch a safety vid on the app lol

  • There were a number of these for $399 at my local store might get one can always return it within 6 months for full refund.

  • +1

In Victoria these will be $299 as of tuesday

    • How do you know this and how do we find stock given its no longer available to search?

      • Got the inside scoop. No way of checking stock from home, you'll need to head in store and ask the manager to check for you.

From what Ive seen most stores have over 5.

    • None at Aldi Melbourne CBD :(

    • wow just noticed how many we had leaving the store yesterday! Hoping for one more discount :D

  • Are these much different to the Segway F20a that went on sale at Aldi about a year ago?

  • +2

These are now $249 in Sydney. Managed to grab one.

    • Any chance you could share the receipt? My local has them marked at $299. Thanks

      • Different states have different reductions based on their sell through. Store cant match it

    • Could you please upload a receipt so we can try to negotiate with the manager?
      Many thanks.

  • Just saw these $299 at Aldi mundaring in WA. 10 on display

  • Down to $349 in QLD. Local store had none on display, but claimed "heaps"out the back. Got 2.

  • Can anyone give an idea on range? Obviously it states 18km but wondered if there was any way to operate these more efficiently?
I gather unlike an electric bike you can't just use them without the motor on (or have it on very low and use your own efforts)?

    • I've been disappointed with the range and nearly returned mine because of that. It depends a lot on whether you are in a very flat area or have some inclines. I use mine for a commute to work, which is about 5.5km for the round trip. It is mostly flat, except for a few relatively small sections at the start and the end where there is a bit of an incline. When I get home my battery is down to between 30% and 40%. That is not what I had hoped for.

      • +1

        Yeah but it’s only $299🙂

        • Not when I bought it :-(

  • Picked up the last one from my local for $299.

    • Was this in Melbourne? At my local it was still $399. Trying to find a store selling for $299. Thanks

      • No country Victoria.

        • Ah ok. Thanks for your reply.

  • Does anyone know if I can get one for $299 now in Melbourne stores? Last I checked the other day my store had them at $399. Thanks

  • About 5 or 6 of them at Monbulk, Vic Aldi today for $299

  • Just rode to Aldi on the scooter to get some shopping🙂

    • Do you bring it with you into the store? Or do you put it in your trolley? Or do you lock it at a bike stand outside?

Thinking of getting one but wondering if it's bulky to bring in store.

      • I lock it up outside the store.
