  Are you supposed to peel asparagus?

  At 40+, you never stop learning. Why was I never taught this from my Mum and Ex wife.

  There should be a bachelor's school for this type of thing.

    Not necessary at all. If the tail end is really thick and dense maybe snap it the last bit, but peeling is not required for a home cook.
