Not bad, about the same from Umart (if they still have stock)
Rather not deal with the shaved apes from COTD if possible personally

Read again, the ones from Umart are SATA III and these are SATA 2.

Umart model is SATA 3, read up to 535MB/s, write up to 170MB/s.

This piece of junk is SATA 2, read up to 275MB/s, write up to 175MB/s.

      • Ah crap, my bad. Is there an easy way to revoke a positive vote?

        • +1

Click on 'votes' at the top of the page just under the title then click the 'revoke' button.

      • Just not a good deal..

If I want Octane I go to my petrol station.

Seriously though this SSD is slow, read the reviews. And OCZ has bad warranty, have heard of them doing dodgy stuff.

For what it's worth, these are the old models, Max Read: up to 275MB/s Max Write: up to 175MB/s.

    Yup, clearing old stock…
Dunno if anyone noticed, but they are SATA 2.
SATA III OCZ Octane 128 GB starts from $106 on staticice.

    You decide.

Wow, COTD clearing out old junk at high prices…who'd have thought? :p

  • +1

Yep Umart a much better deal if you have a SATA3 controller .. :)

    • +1

dont even need a sata 3 controller, real world difference putting a sata 3 drive on a sata 2 controller isnt a great deal (as far as ive read)

''GOt this from COTD not sure if it's a bargain''
Is this the correct way to post a deal, if you think its a deal or by doing a little research prior to posting?
    Neg for that imo

I reckon he can post and the community can decide if it's good or not, this is what this suite is for after all.
Would hate to not hear about a good bargain just because someone didn't know or wasn't sure or was too lazy to check…

Not a good price for old stock.

COTD = Instant neg right ?

  • I swithered but bought one anyway
    - I've a sata II laptop that could do with a bit of a boost
    - and it gave me an excuse to use up my COTD credit from the Acer bait and switch battery debacle
