Brand new black one was around $1700 recently.

  • Doea it have 9 bar OPV? I think it's stated on Breville webiste but not sure if it's just a marketing gimmick. Can anyone confirm?

    • I haven't pressure testing mine but I don't see why it's a marketing gimmick, the pump is rated up to 15 bar, and has an OPV internally which is set to 9 bar

    • Doea it have 9 bar OPV?
It does. Although some snobs are complaining it is plastic (not brass).

$2170 new, is the $771 saving worth buying refurb with 6 month warranty

as mentioned in above comment, was $1700 new recently

      No.

They obviously don't have a great deal of faith in the refurb if they are offering a pathetic 6 month warranty on a $1399 coffee machine.

I have this machine.. depends what 'refurbished' means.. did someone use it for 23 months and return it? We would definitely buy the same one again if our current one breaks (5 years and counting)

    • Out of curiosity, what have you done to yours in terms of cleaning/descale/servicing? I've had mine for 2y and only clean it when it asks and would hope we can get 5+ years from it!

My friend bought a refurbished one from eBay. He rang the seller and blasted him for selling him something not even remotely refurbished. Ended up doing a credit card chargeback and bit the bullet and bought new instead.

    YMMV

At least the eBay seller did not list it as brand new. I bought a brand new fully automatic coffee from Amazon AU but was delivered a used coffee machine. Now they insisted that I had to do the legwork to lug it back to return it before they issued a refund. LOL as is if it is our fault for catching them try to deliberately sell used items as brand new items to their customers.

  • Which coffee machine has the best inbuilt grinder? I don't have enough space for a coffee machine and grinder on my counters (nor plugs) so an all in one would be best thanks

  • These are a very good machine in my opinion. Buying refurbished at that price compared with the $1700 new…… no chance
