  • Legit question, what makes an 'artist quality' pencil?

I'm certain there must be real differences, but I have no idea what they would be.

    • I just dabble but generally the higher the ratio of pigment to binder in most things coloured (pencils/pastels/paint) is what the difference between kids/student/artist quality. More pigment = more vibrant colours, easier to blend, easier to get down on the paper. Mainly just ease of use and better final results. No reason why you couldn't do it with kids quality pencils and youtubers definately do it but why make life difficult. I'm sure there's more to it but that's all I remember.

    • You’ll become Picasso from the moment you pick up the pencil.
