This heat gun was pretty popular last time it was on sale. It's $2 more than last time but that's what inflation does:-(

What is the normal price on tic one

    • $49.95. I believe the sale may be until 04/09/2022.

  • If not needing temperature control or attachments, it's $15 more for the Wagner Furno 300 which seems to have better reviews (the ozito has a couple about being weaker than a hair-dryer, hopefully just faulty units?)

I haven't used the Ozito, but have the Wagner Furno and am very satisfied with it.

Mine melts skin.. and cooks my pizzas perfectly.. so I would be interested to see these hair dryers that are stronger

      • Interested in how you're cooking pizzas with it?

        • +1

Just blasting it from all angles lol.
I have a shit oven and sometimes it dries out the pizza before it actually browns

    • Is the Wagner really made in Germany as a comment on Bunnings website suggests? I've been looking for a heat gun not made in China…

I've had the ozito one for years and used it heaps. It's hot as f and the attachments are handy. The tools a bit crap. I've never used another brand to compare it with though.

      • I agree. This is my experience too… although changing attachments is a b****, it's not easy at all.

I would definitely go for the Ozito model over the Wagner because of both the attachments and temperature control though. I wouldn't risk using a heat gun without some sort of heat shield.

This deal going to get hot

roasting my coffee with this thing every week for 5+ years now, still going strong.

    • I went through many heat guns when I was into coffee roasting, their lifespan was measured in months at best not years! Towards the end I figured out if the nozzle was too close to the beans it bounced back all the hot air into the gun shortening its life.

      • An air fryer with a rotating basket works rather well.

        • Popcorn makers work too I've heard

        • Aren't air fryers limited to 200C? Dont you need to get to 240c or so for 2nd crack? Might have to give it a try anyway, I've got an Instantpot Vortex plus that has the rotating basket thing.
Did the popcorn maker thing years ago, quantities just too small to make it worthwhile for me. I could do about 800gms with heat gun and dog bowl but got too lazy in the end.

          • @mauricem: A few of them are capable of 230c which is good for a medium-dark roast.

      • mine sits in the lid of an old bread maker with no hot air bouncing back. and yeah i was told 6 month max. what does break in heat guns after 6 month? heating element?

        • element or fan motor, there may have been a thermal fuse that let go as well. If I was doing it again I'd be tempted to buy a Bosch blue which have 6 year warranties on most of their tools.

  • Good deal. The case is also a bonus

  • What’s normal price?

Bought one $45 last month. Very happy with the curved nozzle attachment, get heat shrink done without burning things surround.

    Crackling pork skin.
I’ve seen a picture of Jock on Masterchef using it for something but don’t remember what.

I tried this and it was a dismal failure. It looked good and was very satisfying to watch but had the texture of soggy popcorn. Don't expect this to be a miracle cure for your uncrackled pork. But if you're at the end and the skin is dry but not quite the crackle you seek, I can imagine it working.

Can I use this to remove my broken back glass on the samsung s21? Or is this a bit too hektik?

    • I did my Note 20 ultra rear camera glass with hair dryer. I am sure this gun is more than enough for this job.

I bought one for replacing broken digitisers on phones. Start on lowest heat setting and at a distance. Get closer if not melting the glue. You get the hang of it.

These are great tools to have at home though. Yes they are actually good to making awesome pork cracking, but I use mine for heatshrinking over wiring repairs all the time.

    • Variable temp works well, start low and work your way up as needed. I've used one to soften glue on phones and tablets for years without issue!

    • Too hot. Hair dryer is fine for it.

Have turned it to max setting and pointed it in China direction for last 70 days. Seems to work okay.

  • I have been using this heat gun for little projects around the house/car for around a year now. Still works perfectly, cant say I've ever used the additional tools though minus the scrapper but might just be me. For the price, I'm very happy with this little heat gun. It gets surprisingly hot on max setting too. It comes with a nice case to keep it all together which I really liked.

    Paris Hilton: "Thats Hot…"

    • Just watched the my name is earl episode with Paris Hilton randomly in it

  • I thought you use a "heat Pad" to take of a digitizer from a phone?

  • bought one of these last summer, perfect for starting heat beads on a kettle bbq.

    • cool tip, will sure try that

  • when does this sale end?

  • Thanks got one for future use (hopefully)

Got one today. I'm going up try it as a weed killer instead of a gas fuelled one. Has anyone ever done this? Wonder if it's cost efficient (no solar unfortunately).
