This post is prompted by sirspiff's post of the pepper grinder of the same size and Peugeot range.

Pretty niche, but for those of us trying to get the pair of 9-Inch grind-size selectable Peugeots for <$100 - now is our time to shine.

These are the "bees knees" of salt and pepper grinders with a lifetime warranty on the mechanism. See the other post for more commentary!

  • Lifetime warranty, wish I knew. Mine destroyed themselves after a few years.

If only Peugeot had the same commitment to quality with my 305

I just bought this to make a matching pair for $95. Just going on positive ozb reviews and my wife wanting better mills. Hope it's worth it.

    • It will be… replaced one for free under warranty 20 years ago… Original purchase for set was about 1989 and still going strong.

      • Wow! Assume it was broken mechanism and not the wooden bit?

        • The internal mechanism broke on ours and the mill was replaced within a week.

      • Mine was replaced after years of daily use.
Very happy with product and service.

    • Great find

  • What brand of salt/pepper are you guys using for this? I’ll assume not the bare basic Cole’s brand offering…

    • Bare basic works fine unless you care about looks

  • The 22cm U'Select pepper mill is for about $45

  • "Peugeot 23317 Pepper Mill" what happens if I put salt in?

These things are brutal. Bought mine July 1992 (that's 30 years ago for those without a calendar) - use it every day and it still looks and works like new. The best!

Thanks for posting. I just saw the camel3 notif this morning and came to check if anyone else had posted yet. I've ordered one myself and now I've got both pepper and salt for < $100. woot!

  • I have just seen the 18cm pepper mill for $38. Is that a good price? Camelx3 doesn't have tracking data for product sold by Amazon.

  • Do not see the point of a salt grinder, freshly ground salt makes no difference. I prefer using a salt pig so I can easily grab a specific amount.

    • also salt soaks into the wood over time, not so bad appearance on the dark brown mill, but the salt in the timber very obvious in the white ones …… salt mills add very little value as salt doesn't go stale and iodised table salt seems to do the trick… "fresh ground salt" mehhh, "fresh ground pepper" yum.

  • Check out maxwell and williams, they make some really nice grinders. These seem a tad over priced to me.
