Yes, and I always thought it was a better drink than Coke. Lighter, more refreshing to drink.

The cola of choice for true pop stars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tu2x73_T0I

    • +1

Popstars was the first ever reality TV show, and it's all been downhill ever since then.

Seriously though, I can't believe this brand is still around after all those years. I think they put "LA" in the name to try and fool people into thinking it's American, as people would see an AU Cola as being inferior.

  • Is is same taste as coke ?

    • it's cola.

    • +2

I bought their maxi version which is sugar free and honestly it tastes the same to any other sugar free cola ive had. Imo significantly better than coke zero that has a wierd terrible fizzy throat burn. Similar to original coke.

      • +3

Old Coke Zero was fine, but the new Coke No Sugar is horrible, I'd rank it the worst diet drink, which is great because its also the most expensive.

Growing up there was a story of a kid at my school who drank this then coughed up blood. Total bullshit, but I have avoided ever since.
It's also not very good though

I started buying the sugar free version when Pepsi Max got to stupid prices at my Woolies. I like it just as much. They've stopped carrying it now, I can't win.

The ALDI Colas are just same I think. I could never tell them apart including Pepsi and Coke.

      • +1

Agreed. Aldi colas are pretty much same.

    • +1

Coles has the no sugar version if you ever go to coles or amazon might stock it again soon.
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0862FPJND <- bought this yesterday for $1.60 but was OOS when i went to post it today.

Price matching Coles, for those without prime.

Honestly the Maxi (Sugar Free) version of this is pretty good and only paid $1.44 2L.

    • +4

Yeah, I was surprised. It is actually very good. And very sensibly priced. And not owned by a multi-nat.

  • +1

Ahhh come on, this is way better then pepsi and coke! the only thing i reckon better are those home delivered cola come in the grates back in the 80s that you steal from porches!!

    • +1

the ingredients are the same they just don’t spend a billion dollars a year on marketing

  • +1

I like it. Tastes pretty good.

Perfect to mix with my Johnnie Walker Blue Label!

  • Thanks OP,

I'm told on good authority this will mix nicely with Yamazaki 18.

          "until it's allowed"

          lol what?

  • For a minute minute there, I thought that was the famous RC Cola and was gonna pounce on it but alas, it wasn't so. Bummer!

    • Was RC Cola sold in AU?

      • +1

yes, way before millenials time though..

however the most popular was AC cola - Australia's choice. was 50c a can and sold in vending machines out the front of all Kmart's.

if you're truly Aussie you would also remember Gold Medal. they were delivered or purchased at Shell service stations in creates. Portello was very popular.

pub squash lemonade was also a fan favourite!

another fun thing was Sunny-boy icey poles and fags which were cigarette inspired candys

        • A can of AC Cola and a box of Kmart choc chip cookies please.

          • @PainToad: whoa!! I never tried the choc chip cookies! were they as good as Coles triple chocolate chip cookies?

        • +1

another fun thing was Sunny-boy icey poles and fags which were cigarette inspired candys

Ahh, loved those cigarette candies. Pity it cannot be obtained anymore specially in today's politically correct overdose.
