    Thanks OP - got one!

Can combine with 3.5% shopback eBay gift cards.

    • How can you get 3.5%? I only have 3% shown in the shopback app.

      • Ahh, I bought mine a little while ago at 3.5%. Either that or I misremembered :)

  • +1

    I paid $719 for Absolute+….wish I waited

    • Isn't Absolute+ better than this?

    • +1

Absolute+ comes with Fluffy head .

    • +7

I think I would have preferred the Absolute+ for $70 more. You did well.

    • paid 680 for the animal….. with I waited

  • can anyone confirm the 60 min per one charge?

    • On the slowest speed, that sounds about right.

    • -1

I don't think ours ever lasted 60 min but initially it was enough for a large floorboarded house with some carpet.

And ~8 min max speed on full charge, when new, rofl. After a few years light use ours is maybe 2 min.. If you're lucky

    • On low - using standard I'd say 35mins ish?

High does drain it in about 15 but we only ever use high for certain carpets, normal mode fine for most surfaces

  • Is this model worth the extra $$$ over the $249 V7?

    • yes

      • $400 better?

        • +25

Just get 2x V7's. One for each hand, clean twice as fast.

          • +2

            @drogba: I am actually considering this…

        • +2

Yes v10 is a game changer compare to the previous models

          • +6

@Tezilla: The cleaning game has changed? Hopefully the rules are easier now, I can't deal with more difficulty.

        • +1

Dust emptying is much easier with v10. (Come from V6 absolute)

          • @ozizoy: yeah i have v6 stick vaccum.. got this one only for that easy cleaning and hair removal from the spinning head..

    • +1

      Definitely

    • +2

I have a v7 that is about 3 years old now… Tempted to get this but not sure if its worth paying $700 for a new vacuum lol

    • depends on how big your home is and period of how you clean.

    • I've had v8 and v10. V10 much better as low power is finally good enough for carpet.

But if you vacuum often enough and don't have carpet or your carpet is new enough you can go lower than v10

      • My carpet is old…..is v7 good enough?

        • +1

I don't have a v7. If you wanna up the power and recharge the battery more, perhaps.

This is all just my opinion anyway. Ymmv.

  • How do these compare with robotic vacs

    • +2

well i have a robotic vac and i'm buying one of these. robot vacs suck.

      • +4

Isn’t that the purpose of the robot vac? To Suck?

    • We have this and a roborock. Roborock good enough for primary clean but will miss corners and aren't always great on carpet. We'll use this when we need to get into corners or give the carpets a better vacuum, or for something that's not on the floor. (Until they make flying robovacs)

  • +3

Are we still having to hold down the trigger on these models? I know its a small thing, but it can get kind of tiring on a big house.

    • +11

You can always sticky tape your finger to the trigger

  • Purchased. Thanks

  • Is this much better than v8?

  • +3

I have the v7 and wanted to look at something new… So far the reviews state its not worth getting the v10:

    https://moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/dyson-v7-vs-…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI2CxfFk4mQ

    • I did a very quick comparison and came to the same conclusion.. I grabbed the V7 before it went out of stock.

    • +2

Well, when you scroll to when they compare the actual cleaning performance, the v10 is much better on hard flooring. They say less difference on carpet, but I'd say in my experience there is

  • Dyson website has V10 Cyclone, for $50 extra with 3 extra attachments. Might worth to compare…

    • +1

Just the normal v10, and the 3 extra attachments come with the ebay deal.

  • OOS for me

  • Out of stock!! Damn!! I really wanted to get one - V10 with the new motor head.

  • Such a good price…. But I missed the deal

  • Man, missed it 😕

    • Back in stock

  • This is only good for carpet right? you need absolute one for both carpet and floors?

    • +2

The pretty much only difference between the absolute and this one is the soft roller head attachment.

  • +1

i use to have this vacuum, it really sucks

  • +2

Some just came back more than 10 on Ebay…

    • yep thanks legend 30 min later i got one

  • Do yourself a favour and get a robot vacuum. In the $600-700 price range, you can get one with a charging dock and auto-emptying.

It's great to have more time to yourself instead of slaving away for hours/days/weeks over your lifetime.

    • +1

I got a samsung one.. it is the worste thing i bought. It will go off at random times, it gets stuck on the dumbest stuff and it never ever ever returns to the dock. Has no idea how to move around the house. Software is useless. Maybe others are nice but this one sucks and paid like 800 bucks about 2 years ago.

      • Maybe others are nice but this one sucks and paid like 800 bucks about 2 years ago.

damn, you'd think for $800 you will get better!

    • I have got xiaomi robot vaccum but imho it is totally waste. you need to clear up all the rooms before it starts otherwise it stuck so easily with little obstruction.. and more to that sometimes it goes very crazy to find where it is and need a multiple restarts..

  • OOS again.

  • +1

Back in stock but I m very confused about which one to get / keep. I have the dyson v10 cyclone animal which I have not opened (from ebay after afterpay deal 2 weeks ago). And now I see this model which has the motorbar head.

Is there a big difference between between the motorbar head and direct drive head. I have carpet at home and a dog that sheds. Should I pay the extra $50 to get this model and return the other one?

    • +1

i think the motorbar one is better. it separately sells $149 on dyson official website. and hair screw tool is $99. I think it is worthy for families with many long hairs. when I use my v10 (not the newest model), the long hair is always wrapped inside the cleaner head and have to clean it. also bought v10 few weeks ago, but have already used it, so can't return.

  • +2

Got ours delivered today. But it doesn’t seem to be brand new. There’s dirt residue on the rubber cover of the battery, and the rubber ring inside the dust bin is full of dust. Wonder if I can return it and get a replacement…

    • +1

That is most definitely grounds for a replacement. Pretty shocking that Dyson would sell something used as brand new

    • +1

They sometimes sell refurb here as well. Seemed like they mixed up your order and send a refurb instead of new?

      • Didn’t realise they sell refurbished ones. Will see how I go.

        • Refurbs are heaps cheaper. Our V10 Absolute+ was $380 from memory. Sounds like it was the exact same condition as yours

    • Same as me. I found some dust in the dustbin. Is that normal?

      • Absolutely not normal. Go get that replacement. Someone messed up on their end

        • I called Dyson's 1800 number and there was nothing they could do. I have to contact eBay Dyson to resolve this.

          • @Unity55: Gosh what a nightmare. I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered hoping it's actually brand new. Please update us on if they give you a replacement

    • My Dyson V10 package is a normal cardboard box and I strongly believe it is a refurbished one. I have googled Dyson V10 and found out that it should come with a colour package.

      • The Dyson we bought last year from JB Hi-Fi came in a Dyson branded box (we threw it out so I don't have photos sorry). Considering this is directly from Dyson I would expect the same Dyson box

  • Also just recieved a very dusty vacuum.

Came in a Dyson branded cardboard box (no colour) with no plastic packaging around each tool. Not sure if they've changed the packaging for environmental reasons but none of our previous Dysons have had dust in the chamber. Also instructions etc. were placed in an envelope inside the box, never seen that before

Contacted Dyson eBay, will see what they say. Seems weird that if it was refurbished and sold as "new" that they wouldn't even bother cleaning the chamber

    • +1

Please post your outcome. Keen to know. Sounds like they are shipping refurb as new, you have every right to demand to get what the ad described.

    • +1

No response from eBay yet but I did find this after a comment by neosin on the V7 post https://support.dyson.co.nz/support/dyson-v10-vacuum/dyson-v…

I can see this being the case as I don't see any other visible damage on the parts and the dust was very uniform. I really feel like they should stick a label on the bin saying "hey don't panic this dust is from production" - because every unit I've bought in-store had no "fine dust" (assuming they clean out in-store units so customers don't bother staff for refunds?)

Will update again if Dyson eBay responds with the same explanation but otherwise it looks like mystery solved!

    • +1

This is the box mine came if it helps.

I didnt take photo of new unit in box as I was too excited to start using it.

Every attachment was wrapped in cardboard, not plastic and every part was nicely segregated in its own place.

      https://ibb.co/LRSVSN8

      https://ibb.co/6BnDMsV

As a side note, I have no regrets buying this model. I just wished I bought one 5 years ago. We emptied the bin 5 times in a 45min clean. It was on low power and the amount of dust it sucked up from carpet was unbelievable. We were using a corded 1800w vacuum before (with a powered beater brush).

I can finally see why it has so many fans. Nobody told me abt the amount of dust and dirt it sucks up. The vacumn head is remarkably well engineered and it maintains a constant suction to carpet as opposed to my other vacumn that sits 1cm above the carpet and relies on the beater brush to kick up dirt.

      • Yay mine was the same, I'm glad we all got the brand new ones :)

I bought mine for my new place so haven't tested yet but now I'm really looking forward to it. We have 2 cats and long hair and my V6 really struggles with basically every task.

Also cool that it seems like it'll last the 60 mins they say it does!

    "Hi there,

    Thank you for your message.

We are very keen to assist. Please be assured the machine is brand new and talcum powder is used during the fitting process which small residual amounts may be found in the bin or on the outside of the machine. The markings seen on the battery are flow lines from the manufacturing process as opposed to visible damage and can be found on all parts.

While we assure you the machine is brand new, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee if you would prefer to return the machine for a refund. If you would like to return the machine, please don't hesitate to raise a return request via the eBay resolution centre.

We hope this has answered your query today. Please don't hesitate to message us back if you have any further queries or if we can be of any assistance moving forward.

    Best wishes,

    [Name]
    Dyson Customer Care"

I didn't mention the battery but glad for the explanation!
