    NOTE

This is not a "ti" there is a performance hit difference (ti is faster…)

      Note:

      No shit.

    • +9

Glad to know your low expectations of the average ozbargain user

    • +4

You might as well add a warning that this is not a 3080

    • Note:

This runs like a 5700xt only worse. That is a card that was $600 three + years ago.

The 6700xt blows the 3060 out of the water.

I have to be honest, I just use these gpu posts as a price tracker

  • +7

Also dropped to $539.10, before delivery and/or surcharges:

This is a fair bit more power for not a whole lot more money relatively speaking. The better buy IMO.

(Also comes with those free games, whatever they are, haven't looked).

      • +4

        Games are:
        New Saints Row
        Forspoken
        Sniper Elite 5

        • +3

          New saints row is uhh…yeah.

Forspoken is still 4 months away

Sniper elite 5 I have no clue on

Seems like a strange set of games to give away. Not sure what sites you can sell the keys to but you might be able to make a quick buck off those though you'll definitely get a much smaller cut.

          • +4

@JerraJones: SE5 is good especially the invasion mode, you join a randoms game while they are playing and try to assassinate them

      Says $599 for me.

    • +3

      Under $400

  • +4

This is good news for people who need to replace a broken entry level (read:1080p) gaming card.
Yes, it should be $250, but at least its not $800 like it was 6 months ago.

  • +5

I don't think a $500 RTX 3060 deserves its own post. 6600 XT which performs just as well as this has routinely been sub $400.

again nvidia tax, because people willing to spend more money on green team card therefore they hold the price much higher than amd counterpart

      • -4

People spending more money on things for stupid reasons does not maketh a bargain.

        • “Stupid reasons”
im not having this argument again there’s many reasons to buy a card. Yes some do buy because team green but others do cause amd is non competitive in productivity

          • -5

@Pugkin: you can buy whatever you want, but that doesn't make it worth posting about on OzBargain. That is the point you don't seem to be too keen to grasp.

            • +2

@xyron: It’s a deal for the product in particular given it’s previous pricing, so yes it is worth posting on ozbargain, and yet again as many people have said it’s useful for price tracking. It’s your opinion if it’s not worth posting. But guess what, that’s YOUR OPINION

              • -3

@Pugkin: Correct, and your opinion is also only your opinion, yet you seem to take it so personally and insist on parroting your side of the argument too?

                • +1

@xyron: Well that’s hypocritical, I only bring up my side when a certain someone says it on most nvidia gpu submissions on this platform. Other than that I don’t feel a need to spread my opinion around. I just hate absolutism

        • +1

You don't see a product as a "bargain" but some people do. I'm a custom keyboard hobbyist, I buy a 500$ keyboard which pricing could be inflated to 1k. Is it sounds stupid? Yes. Is it a bargain for me? Yes as well
Plenty of upvote in this deal pretty much says that people still consider this as a bargain.

          • -2

@Masticccc: People see expensive houses as bargains too…if you and Pugkin think this is a legitimate bargain, then go and buy one, or ten of them. I'm simply pointing out that (yes, in my opinion, as if I have to spell that out!) - this is not actually a bargain given what else has been available on the market, that does the same thing.

            • @xyron: I mean you weren’t pointing that out you literally said

“ People spending more money on things for stupid reasons does not maketh a bargain.”

            • +3

@xyron: Actually I'm sharing the same opinion as you, I don't see 3060 at ~500$ as a bargain and definitely don't buy it at this price. But the difference is while I don't think it's a bargain, I do understand why people think it's a bargain, and they have their valid reasons. Ozbargain is a community, so a deal or not a deal should be base on the majority. At this point of time there is still 0 downvote, so yeah it's still a bargain with many people.

Some of us need an NVidia card for stuff like machine learning, even if they are definitely worse value for money for gaming. This is a pretty good deal relative to where things have been for a long time.

I bought the $500 Asus 3060 KO deal a few weeks back and managed to sell my 1060 for $125 (probably went a bit low on that too). I've used it a bunch and have zero buyer's remorse even if prices do come down a bit more. Not having to check GPU prices every day for a year straight anymore is worth the peace of mind and saved time.

      • Wonder if my 1650 Super is worth offloading.

      • +1

Yeah, I’ve picked this one up.

It’s particularly good if you want to play around with the image-based models, like Stable Diffusion, as it has 12GB of VRAM. The 3060ti, aside from never being on sale, only has 8GB.

Of course, AMD would be better bang-for-buck if it were supported to the same extent, but the lack of CUDA hurts. And at the end of the day, the 3060 will be good enough for gaming.

That said, I’m still relying on the 30 day money back guarantee in case the Ethereum Merge on 15 September actually crashes the price.

        • +1

Yeah with the Ti price refusing to budge, and the 3060 having more vram which is actually potentially useful for me, I didn't feel so bad about pulling the plug finally. Glancing at the Stable Diffusion requirements a few days ago, I was especially happy to have picked the 3060.

  • Anyone else notice they've removed all the top end cards from the site while they have this 10% off sale.

Girls n Boys.. Hold your positions

    • +7

Better than Nvidia's usual: "Girls n Boys.. Assume the position"

      • +3

Or Nvidia’s modern staple: “Girls n Boys… hand over yer kidney”

  • Is this a reasonable replacement for my 1080ti? Or should I hold off for the 4000 Series release?
Running dual screens: 3440x1440 (gaming) & 1920x1080 (extra stuff)

    • +1

Hold off as this card is arse for 4k unless you want fps lag spikes with low settings or dont mind lowering res to 2k ~100fps

      • What would you recommend aiming for? To make upgrading from the 1080ti a worthwhile investment…

        • +1

Id suggest waiting it out just another month or two to see what these new cards do.

Your gaming returns will be diminished if you buy now, but if you absolutely must (cos your current card is dying or you're building a new pc etc) then get a 6600xt around $350 for the much more effecient power draw and similar performance.

If you're impatient and none of that bothers you, get the 6900xt for -~$999
