  • I'm ready for another OLED sale

  • +2

This makes the 77 a bargain.

    • This is exactly the argument Shaquille Oatmeal should be using on the other half. "At these prices, we can't afford NOT to get a 77" OLED! Futureproof!"

  • $10k and the stand is extra, a real Apple move.

    • +6

Not quite - They include a Flush wall mount. Which is the whole reason you buy the G series.

If this was Apple, they would charge you for the power cord.

      • +1

        And the remote

        • And instructions

  • imagine how much lettuce you can buy instead

    • Soft serve cones are the right measurements for how many you can buy instead.

      • I thought the standard unit was eneloop batteries?

  • I want this, but it's hard to justify spending 10k on a TV.

    • +3

It's not just a TV.. It's a life style lol

  • C1 gang gang where you @?

  • +10

I really hate how LG skipped the "D" series and went to "G" - I want to tell people i've got an 83" D

    • Cool, is it a Dong or a Dildo?

  • +6

I've got one of these, pretty good telly.

Mostly just use it for morning ABC news catch-up.

The only problem with the TV is the picture seems a little blurry and washed out to me, maybe it's just me though (I'm legally blind, so that probably doesn't help).

Purchased as it came highly recommended to me by the Harvey Norman sales guy.

    • +2

Yea I bought one of these too, and I just use it as a Google Now assistant to show me recipes.

      • +1

The sales guy really knew his stuff, thank god he was there.

When I told him I was blind and lived in a studio apartment with a 50cm distance to the TV, he insisted that this was the one to get.

        • +4

Man, I don't if it's appropriate to laugh at this comment

          • @Maybe NoOne: Well I do recall the staff at HN laughing as I was leaving, I wasn't in on the joke though, all well.

  • +12

    Problem here is obvious.

If your eyes are good enough to be able to notice the significant quality of this TV, you can't afford it.

If you're old enough to be able to afford it, you can't tell the difference.

  • Come to see bought 3 comments.

    • What a povo. At least buy 10.

  • Give me G1 77 inch for 3.5k we have a deal

  • (In 2030)

LG G2 529 110" OLED EVO MITSUBISHI 10K Ultra Mega Remix Hyper EX + Alpha HD Smart TV

    • Only a 110"? Slumming it right there.

    • 10K? 4->8->16->32 etc..

  • -1

13K elsewhere , not 15.6K so I would not buy from this mob

    • +2

Where would you buy it from then? The $13k place?

      • -1

I think his point is that they are misleading you into thinking it is a greater saving than it actually is.

        • That was 1/2 of his points.

  • +1

If you're paying this much for this TV, you think LG would offer a 5 year warranty

    • If you have enough money to buy this, there is a higher chance that you have enough money to upgrade your tv to 110" in year time :)

    • +1

It's a shame they aren't offering 5 yrs in Australia. It can be due to our strict consumer laws.

    • +1

ACL covers you for at least 5 years anyway on a TV costing this much. LG replaced my burnt out screen for free on a 2.5 year old OLED without even mentioning warranty.

    • It appears LG now offers 5 years on all its G series and above OLEDs.

  • +2

I'd wait. This isn't a good price out of the context of it being brand new. I'd expect it to drop a few grand in the next few months. Might be wrong!

  • +1

Almost 10k for a tv lol

    • +1

I paid more for mine in 2007….still got it 15 years later.

      https://www.goodgearguide.com.au/review/pioneer/pdp-lx608a/2…

      • I remember selling those. They were so damn good.

      • Still got my 509 and my parents still have their 608. Incredible TV’s still to this day, but I’m thinking of going bigger and though unbeatable in its time, Oled crushes the Kuro on black levels.

  • +1

I’m here for the comments cuz I cant afford the Telly..

    • metoo

  • thanks purchased 5

  • According to Rtings the deal price in the US is USD6497, so like it or not, this deal isn't too bad.

The price of being an early adopter, or you can wait around that's the eternal issue :)

  • Absolutely wait till black friday specials

  • Highly recommended tv I have the 55 inch one. Fantastic picture quality and surprisingly good speakers. I still use a soundbar. The remote also needs a refresh. If this had Google tv it would be unstoppable in my opinion.

  • Give us a 97" deal, this is meh.

    • “ Namely the 97-inch LG G2, which will set you back €25,000 (around $27,500 / £21,000 / AU$37,000) according to FlatpanelsHD.”

Holy moly I wish I was in the position to splash that much on a TV.

      • +2

23k and I'll bite, I'm being honest as well, I don't buy or care about flashy cars, houses etc. I like them (username), but I like TV's more.

  • Would a 4K UHD Ultra Short Throw Projector be a better option?

Like this one, LG CineBeam HU715Q 4K UHD Ultra Short Throw Projector, only $5295

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lg-cinebeam-hu715q-4k-uhd…

    • no. the picture quality doesn't come close.

the new Epson LS12000 would be better if you got the room for it.

  • Thanks OP, bought 10

  • So cheap. I'll buy 2.

  • My LG oled has terrible burn in on the screen after 4 years

  • 83" lol. Worth buying a bigger lounge room for?

    • They make a 97"

    • +5

All of the comments about 83" being way too big made me second guess myself. Made me expect it to be way WAY too big. Now that it is on my wall, I'd actually like it to be a bit bigger.

  • thanks op, at this price how could I resist grabbing 4?

  • I am waiting for an OLED deal, but…..

  • My ps3 would look like shit on this wouldn't it?

    • It will look glorious

  • Cheers OP, grabbed 3

  • +1

The G2 is a bit brighter than my C1, but IMO not worth paying $3k more.

    I still shudder when I remember I paid $6.6k for my 83” C1.

  • +1

Hopefully next year there is QD-OLEDS bigger than 65" now that the low quality & terrible uniformity of these LG made panels have been exposed. I could never pay 10k for this knowing how much banding it will have, along with the horrible near black performance.

    • They've announced 77" for next year.

  • Have the G1 hands down the best TV I have owned

  • It’s a bit small though… I guess you could always use binoculars?

  • +1

I turn my 65” TV into 83” by sitting three handspans away from screen.
