Good mic for people who missed out on the previous deals. Not as good as the Prime lightning deal of $43 but still a good price

No stereo two channel in windows if that matters to you :(

    • what USB mic on the market has stereo though? Most USB mics that I'm aware of capture audio from just one 'capsule' at a time so there's no way to have 'stereo' audio from that.

It doesn't register in windows as two channel so the audio is worse in registered mono channel.

Out of the box, we tried this Razer mic and it was pretty bad for podcast quality so went with HyperX solocast instead which did two channel

Yeah it only says as 1 channel on Windows. My Asus Webcam with mic registered as 2 channel and has a better quality.

  • Does this force you to install synapse?

    • It works out of the box

    • Does this force you to install synapse?

      No need.

    • I was honestly quite surprised when I plugged a Razer keyboard in and had Synapse auto-installed. Hopefully, Razer have stopped this practice.

      • They haven't. I did a fresh install of Windows 11 the other day, plugged in my mouse and it was automatically installed.

        • Yeah, I always close it and said don't want to install.

    • I bought this and it is quite good to capture the voice of a few people during a meeting.

    • wow that's insane. It's a good mic

    • That was definitely a pricing mistake unfortunately. A long wait before you see it at that price again

      • That was definitely a pricing mistake unfortunately

I bought it after it OOS for sometime and back in stock.

      • "That was definitely a pricing mistake unfortunately."

Why is it I read this often? Either "definitely a pricing mistake" or "I doubt it was actually available at that price, nobody got one at that price".

Amazon has high powered computers controlling adjusting their prices at all times. When something doesn't seem to be selling too well, they lower the item to a irresistible price and after 10 or so items sell they jack it up again. Obviously those who got it for dirt cheap will be happy and write 5 star reviews because the product was amazing "for the price".
This helps to sell more in the future. Not that hard to understand I would think.

        • Sure, that's possible, but when somethings listed at 80% off its retail price and some portion of the orders get cancelled, it's not too unreasonable to assume its a pricing mistake. What percentage of people leave an Amazon review? How many thousands of dollars does one 5 star review generate to justify the hundreds to thousands they effectively gave away? At $17 its certainly selling at a loss, so why is it so unreasonable to believe its an error?
No matter how high powered the computer, the code powering it is still written by devs and prone to bugs.

          • @Aildaris: I am just going by my experience.

Here is an example, my first deal I posted here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/704958
I watched the price drop slowly to $42, RRP is $249 or something ridiculous https://myefm.com/speakers/havana/phantom-white and the next cheapest price I could find was around triple $109 + shipping.
I bought one, they priced stayed the same. I wanted to confirm I got the actual product so I waited until I received the item before posting the deal.
After I posted I think a few silent people were able to get theirs then Amazon jacked the price up to around $149.

Then the same model in a different color dropped to a even lower price of $40, so I posted it https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718934
This time though I didn't buy one in advance. But according to a comment about 30 minutes after I posted, they were getting a different amount in their cart. So the price must have been in the process of being jacked up by Amazon.

Same experience with this deal I posted https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/720071
I ordered it first again, then posted after I received delivery. Some people were able to score some at the low price before it was jacked.

    Thanks OP.
Now I can be toxic online jkjk

  • I use one of these - it's much clearer than a webcam mic, a little better than the onboard mic on my MBP. However, I was a little surprised it didn't have a mute button! I had hoped to use the LED colour as a reminder that i was muted on calls, but it just has green for power.
