  • is this any good? Do you really need more than 32GB?

    • +1

If you have to ask, probably not. It's useful for running a large number of VMs and containers, rendering, compiling very large C++ codebases with many threads, etc, but not really useful for desktop or gaming purposes.

There's also a cheaper kit on ebay right now, although only a couple available and slightly worse timings :
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/233326574034 ($219 AUD or $209 with ebay plus)

    • if you'r like me with hundreds of chrome tabs open while you game I easily clock at 30gb each day.

  • See this is about the same price as 32gb of G.skill 3600@CL16 , which will have lower latency and RGB…

Unless you have a crying need for more than 32gb….

I'd be surprised if it couldn't be manually clocked to match this kit : https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0865HHQYT?th=1 , so in that regard it might be a good price IF you are willing to guess

  • 3200MHz and 64GB of DDR4

    or

    3600MHz and 32GB of DDR4

    • With zen 3D ram speed doesnt matter

      • so latency over MHZ? so for example a c16 3600mhz over a c18 4000mhz?
