OP, is there any chance to introduce Baseus 140W GaN Charger to Australia?

  • Does it come with a proper certified AU plug?

    • Also wondering this

      • +1

I have one and it does, but its also listed in the product description "Plug Type: CN/AU Plug Power"

    • +5

It's a China plug. Works in the AU slot but upside down.

    • +6

No. It is the CN model (uninsulated pins), and is upside down.
Furthermore, you cannot replace it with a certified figure 8 AU plug.

      • +2

Any particular reason the plug can't be replaced? (have access to sparky/DIY)

Recently went on a trip with the 100w version of this, and the upside down plug was impossible to use when paired with a travel adapter…the cable extends the wrong way and stops one end of the travel adapter from going into the wall.

        • +3

The cord is permanently attached to the adaptor, so you'll need to cut the cord to replace the plug.
          I don't understand why they don't use a detachable figure 8 cord

        • +1

the cable extends the wrong way and stops one end of the travel adapter from going into the wall.

If you use it on a Belkin or similar power board, you will find that it takes up two slots, unless you bend the cable (very hard to do) when plugging in another appliance directly on the opposite lane.

        • How does it block the adapter from going into the wall? I've found a photo of the upside down plug, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/682764 - if you plug it into a travel adapter, won't the cable extend 90 degrees to the direction of the power point?

          • @y2k: Obviously this will be different for different adapters, but here's what I mean - the UK side of the plug won't be able to get into the wall on the adapter I had:

If the Baseus plug was 'normal', the USA/AUST side would actually work as there's bit more room on that side of the travel adapter.

            • @purpleturtle: Ahh! Thanks.

              • @y2k: I've just checked my travel adapters and their sockets are all on the opposite end to the plug prongs, so I wouldn't have that issue…unless the power point is located on the skirting board or other awkward placement where that cable would not fit. Reminds me that unfortunately there is no fullproof design for travel adapters!

      • +1

No good. Not sure why anyone would buy these then.

        • Accepts US plugs.

        • Because "ehh close enough" is the current standards nowadays, especially in building industry.

    Hi,

  • Does this have pps?
    Edit: seems to have it

  • What happens to the various USB power outputs when the 240V is used? Not on this table on the listing:

    Type-C1/Type-C2 output: 5V/9V/12V/15V-3A;20V=3.25A
    USB1 Output: 5V =1A
    USB2 Output: 4.5V = 5A: 5V -4.5A;5V/9V/12V/20V = 3A
    Type-C1+Type-C2 Output: 45W+20W
    Type-C2+USB2 Output: 5V=3A
    Type-C1+USB2 Output: 45W+18W
    Type-C1/Type-C2+USB1 Output: 60W+5W
    Type-C1+Type-C2/USB2+USB1 Output: 45W+15W+5W
    Type-C1+Type-C2+USB2+USB1 Output: 45W+15W+5W

    • +1

The 240V plug is just like an extension cable or power board. Doesn't affect the USB outputs.

      • +1

Thanks! Kinda handy having a power outlet on my desk. Now to wait till the next deal…though it's a shame this things eats two spots on a power board.
