Good price. Currently using this phone and pretty happy with it.

It should be worth noting that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are tipped to launch October 13 so it may be worthwhile holding out at this time of year.

    • What's the point when the Tensor 2 isnt really expected to bring a major performance improvement over V 1? The P7 Pro isn't going to be a major update from the P6 Pro.

      • The 7 will also last longer due to (probably) getting at least another update of Android more than the Pixel 6.

        • +2

Not sure that one extra update is worth the hundreds of dollars in price difference.

        • +2

so will 8. so you will keep waiting forever?

    • +4

The amount of discount you get off the phone will be far greater than the performance bump of the 7 imo.

Screen, camera and i believe ram will be the same in 7 (according to rumours.

Also.. Target is doing 10% off HIM gc that includes JB.. so you could get it for $1169

Also if you sign up yo 12mo BYO contract in store they give you a $300 jb gc.. so if we include that as well you can get this as low as $869.

If your going OS you can get another 10% off the $1169.

So best case scenario, you could score it for $700

        • You are too kind good sir :P

  • I love my Pixel 6 pro 512 that I got with the Telstra contract discount. This is a good price for the phone

Waiting for this to go below $900 but I might be being too hopeful/unrealistic

    • +3

You’re expecting a $1600 phone that was barely released a year ago to go to $900?

      • +15

He is committed to getting dealsforlife

      • Took less than a week to happen it turns out.

    • +1

Good luck , your gonna need it!

wouldnt you be happy with a 128 or 256gb version?

isn't 512 one like an overkill? I just checked my phone and I use 90gb in total.

      • +6

512gb might seem like a lot, but for a phone with no expandable memory, it will allow you to keep the phone for a few years without stress

        • +2

I agree, especially if the phone is getting software and security updates for years as well. Plus app sizes always increase, and if you're recording 4K video then the extra storage space always comes in handy.

Clearly haven't met most photo hoarders xD

I would have gotten 256GB but I needed a phone on release day and 128GB was the same as my Pixel 4 (which had a spicy pillow, hence the urgency), so 512GB it was for me. 11 months in, I have used about a quarter of storage so I guess good thing I didn't get 256GB

wife and i own 2 of these. Reception issues where you have full bars, 5g and an exclamation mark next to the bars rendering the phone useless with no calls, sms, data. Happens often and is a known fault with this Pixel. On research shows that they use a lower grade modem compared to the qualcomm found in majority of flagships. Regardless this happens between 3-5 times a day and you'd have to either switch on / off airplane mode or completely restart your phone.

Agree with everything you said. I have all the same issues and it's so frustrating. I lose wifi and sim data connectivity several times a day and have to constantly restart my phone. Battery life is also average. Google have no fix for this issue yet. I regret getting this phone. It's absolute rubbish 👎

Have you updated to 13? That got rid of the reception issues for me

      • Reception issues are mostly our horrible infrastructure from our Telcos. I have an S22 Ultra and I literally have to switch to 3G to get reception a lot of the time, 4G and 5G both keep cutting in certain areas. Then other areas I get 1600Mbps+

Absolutely agree and i got so annoyed that I switched back to my pixel 5.
I've updated my pixel 6 to android 13 though and that fixed the network issues but my pixel 6 has been plagued with software defects since I got it that I'm not turning back to it.

    • Agree, I disabled 5g which atleast helped with a little of it but I constantly have poor signal when the wife's s22 also on Telstra is perfect.
I was about to switch back to my find X3 pro but decided this was the last issue for me and the pixel has made a android user who left iPhones at the iPhone 5(lasted a week then went android) finally commit to buying an iPhone either 14 pro or 13pro. More issues than just signal…
To top it off, I wash my phone's with tap water every now and then, never had an issue with it (as long as waterproof ofcourse)… Now my pixel has water in the camera lenses. Currently in a bag of silica gels Sim card tray out to try get it lasting another cpl weeks so I can just switch over to iPhone

    • A network reset would fix this for me (available from the long press on Internet tile from quick options menu, upt he top right). It was annoying yes, but an easy fix.

      • Can't fix the cheap modem they put in it…

I mean, they did with Android 13….sooooo….

          • @lasterato: They didn't, it's helped how it handles some situations. It didn't solve that in others you are stuck on HSPA and your partners phone right next to you is on 4g…. Soooo…

    • 1200+ for a pixel??? I made a mistake and bought a pixel 3 a few years ago, never again. The only phone I RMA’d, pixel is shite.

I paid $1449 10 months ago so it seems to have held its value

It's an ok phone. Battery life is disappointing but I'm happy overall
