No issue with the price but why aren't they honest with the shipping cost? Phone costs $424.90, why can't they call it $414.95 + $9.95 shipping

    • No that I am vouching for SS cause I am not and they gave me huge hassles last time I ordered, but they are shipping from overseas so $9.95 shipping isn't practical. I think shipping costs around $30 give or take to ship from HK with courier.

    • I really don't like how they calculate shipping for a lot of their products ($6-9 for a micro SD card that they put in a letter sized envelope sent from their warehouse not far from where I live… yeah right) but they might be doing it so that the prices for their products seem cheaper.

well this phone has been around $430 at shopping square for 3 month,
Last time they have this the phone cost $399 and postage is $29.99
Now the phone price is less but the postage cost more?
This seller capability of delivery is not that good either, you could be waiting months.
This is for grey import stock.
The little chinese seller actually sold australian stock include gst for TRS
Even cheaper at kogan for $399+ $19

    It is cheaper from Kogan

  • Guys, I have bought this mobile from shoppingsquare and unfortunately the phone developed some yellowish tint on its screen within a few days of using…. I contacted SS and they were very cooperative and asked me to send the phone back to their warehouse in NSW at their expense, which is good.

My only concern is that since the phone is not Australian and itwas actually shipped from HK, now they are chasingup its warranty on my behalf from HK, which is taking forever. I can not simply take it to the local Samsung service Centre as it isn't an Australian phone.

So bear in mind, the phone you get does not come with Australian warranty but SS Sydney warehouse chase up the warranty from overseas for you.

    • Think on the positive side, at least you saved $5 by buying an import model instead of local stock :)

According to Australian law, it's SS's responsibility to get you a fixed or new phone within a reasonable time. If they can't (because HK is taking forever), then SS have to either refund you, or give you another phone from their stock.

"If the business chooses to repair the product or fix the problem with the service, it must do so within a reasonable time. If not, you will have the right to choose a replacement or refund for a product and compensation (for the drop in value below the price paid) or refund for a service."

edit: neg reason: cheaper elsewhere, such as kogan, who have great service in my experience.
