Thank you for the inspiration to vu, samwise gamgee and other OP's with their leading 1/2 Price supermarket posts

Please note specials to the link less than 50¢ saving were omitted and alcohol was omitted due to it not being available in all states and territories.

Great post, should probably consider doing % wise next time as 40c off $1.00 is 40% but 50c off $5 is only 10% for example :)

    • Did you put this together manually, or did you make a script?

    Are Aldi nuggs any good?

    • Their vegan nuggets are VERY good so assume their chicken nuggets would be good too!

      • They are!

    • +9

Not sure about these but their tempura nuggets are great.

I tried them after being recommended them here.

      • Cheers. Might give them a go

        • +2

          Yep tempura nuggets are good

      • Do you know what is the chicken % for tempura nuggets?

        • I think they are 51%.

    • +1

Yep for as good as nuggs can be

    • +4

The tempura nuggets are very good. These crumbed farmwood nuggets are not to my liking.

That dark peppermint chocolate is awesome. Reminds me of the After8 mint chocs when they were good (find them too sugary now)

    • I grabbed a block and agree it's awesome. Tasted like real peppermint and chocolate. Unlike the purple branded one.

    Premiére Greek Style Yogurt

    French Greek Style yogurt ?

  • Never seen the Flying Power Energy Drinks for more than 99c here in SA and pretty sure i saw the ticket say reduced from 99c when i shopped there today. Interesting.

    • Energy drinks was $1.29 in NSW

    • 99c in WA too.
Tastes just like Red Bull and also made in Austria like Red Bull.

Yeh my fav energy drink these days.

        • Yep picked up a few cartons from my local! Sad they stopped selling watermelon flavor though.

    • They were 99c in VIC until two eeeks ago. Now $1.29.

      • Ouch! Covid tax/ukraine war/inflation!
Not looking forward to THAT price rise.
Might have to pick some more up beforehand.

The ALDI tempura nuggets are basically
Maccas nuggets they are by far the best frozen nuggets on the market , get into them!!!

  • +4

We tried the tempura versions of the nuggets against steggles, inghams, Woolies and Coles tempura nuggets. Side by side tasting they highly recommended. Texture is 90% of a Macca's nugget. They only lose out on taste by a little bit compared to inghams.

We tried all of these as part of our podcast The Snack Pack. Do recommend as the value buy

crumbed nuggets are rubbish. Tempura nuggets decent. Steggles tempura nuggets almost at Maccas nuggets level

Steggles tempura nuggets almost at Maccas nuggets level

Isn't that lower than decent lol

      • +1

No, Maccas nuggets are excellent. It's KFC who should be embarrassed at the soggy tasteless nuggets they sell

        • apparently mcnuggets are filler, and kfc is actually chickem

but i really prefer maccas nugs, their coating is really good

          • @capslock janitor: Rumours about what goes into McDonald's have always been around. The nuggets actually are made of chicken breast, it's KFC nuggets that are reconstituted from filler ingredients. Even if you don't believe what they say, you can easily tell the difference between real meat and a minced patty.

            • @greatlamp: how to replicate maccas coatnig

              • +1

@capslock janitor: Apparently ingham tempura nuggets are the same, or very close. Aldi sell a copy of it too. You will need a deep fryer to get the crispyness

Always thought Macca's nuggets were terrible, but haven't had one in the last 10 years, have they changed?
