Nice price but shipping killed it.

theres no flat rate shipping avaialble cheap anywhere in the country. AP has jacked up their rates and no longer do post code free flat rates. cant do untracked mail as in previous sales we had high rates of frauds. We do wish we can lower shipping rates for small orders but AP will not come to the Party

We can do a discount code 10% off site wide with the code DISCOUNT10

      • I missed this code!

      • Maybe try sendle or something similar?

Here's some tips to save on shipping.
        1. Put it in a letter and pop it in the red street box rather than over the counter
        2. Use Express Post parcels, which guarantee next delivery or postage is refunded. Now, wait until your post office has its parcels collected at 4:30 and only then present it for processing. You will get your postage refunded as there's no way it's getting delivered on time now.
        3. Get someone on the inside who works at a post office to scan the parcels as per kg rather than it's dimensions.

None of those are actual options for a business..

  • only makes sense if you live in that area and can pick up

The cat5e 3m cables for 50c are a bargain. Needed for work so snagged 160 of them. Thanks.

    • Thanks 🙂

  • Unless I've missed something, Cat 6A cables must be shielded, and the terminations must also be shielded… Plus if your patch panel and switch aren't rated for Cat 6A, you won't see 10GB speeds from it.

If you're not trying to get 10Gbps speeds, then Cat 5e or Cat 6 is still fine for most people and usually a lot cheaper.

You're thinking of Cat 7 and Cat 8 - they're the ones with the shielding requirements. They're also not "real" standards, they were never properly ratified.

Cat 6 is just basic plain Ethernet cable and works just fine at 10Gb over short (<30m) distances.

    • Cat6 still does 10Gbps. I think even 5e can unofficially carry 10Gbps at even shorter distances.

Oooh, not too far from me - what times are you open for walk-ins, is it the same as normal business hours?

    • yes we can take walkins. I will be posting up a lot more items as stock clears. Got a whole bunch of 8way and 20 way PDU's to put up as well

  • The 10 Pack 500mm Cat6 Patch Cords for $8.00 is a great deal. I ordered two and got 10% off with "DISCOUNT10". Shipping to Brisbane was reasonable at $8.95 and was quicker than expected (estimated 5-8 days, actually 3 days).
