Looks like this will be replacing the discontinued Lift.

    • +4

I wish they'd just make Kirk's Pub Squash the new Lift flavour or something, also not too keen on the caffeine in this new Sprite.

      • I wish they'd just make Kirk's Pub Squash the new Lift flavour or something.

Shouldn't be too difficult for CCA (Coca-Cola Amatil) Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, as they also own Kirks too.

        • Yeah thats what I meant sorry, wasn't clear haha. I'd also love Snowdrop in cans… I can dream.

          • @Daemonic: Snow Cap?

            • +1

@Meconium: @Meconium Kirk's is Snow Drop (has a penguin on the bottle), I think Woodroffe's is Sno Top and there was a Snow Cap at one point from Shelleys. They're all considered a brown creaming soda or similar, happy for any of them to be slapped into a can and in a carton lol

              • @Daemonic: Ah right, never heard of the other two and only remembered Snow Cap from childhood :)

Never seen Sno Drop over east - assume you're from SA?
                https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/162962/kir…

                • @Meconium: Up north in NT, we seem to get some stuff only SA gets at the shops such as this (probably because most shipping comes via there)

Seems to vary by state what some drinks are, QLD gets a Kirk's Dry Drinking Ginger Ale that is incredible but we just get a Kirk's Ginger Beer, the former is an amazing mixer. Friends often fill their tray on the way back to last a while when visiting haha.

Confused as anything when I saw these in Coles last week, one has sugar but now with caffeine in it, the other is sugar free?

Then you have Sprite that was reduced sugar, with the wording on the label that full Sprite was gonna be phased out

        I'm confused as all hell.

          • +5

@RichardL: Alright so the Sprite w/ less sugar was canned in favour of Sprite with more sugar, now known as Lemon Plus, which is substantially a replacement for Lift.

            WTAF

          • +12

@RichardL: cant wait for next years model Sprite Lemon Pro Max Plus

        • +5

It is very confusing, there was also a brief period a few years back where Lift was becoming a Fanta flavour? It was like Fanta Lift, it was very odd.

I feel like they can't figure out what to do with Lift.

          • +1

@Daemonic: See my comment just above, it is damn confusing, and theories abound.

I agree, Lift seems to be the unwanted child that keeps being put up for adoption but no-one wants to adopt it.

    • +16

Do you even drink lift bro?

    • I love Lift. This'll be like new Coke

  • +81

Wasn't targeted so I guess I'll be shopping at Coles out of sprite.

    • +8

When life doesn't give you lemons, don't make lemonade.

    • The last freebie was the Barista Bros Iced Coffee, which even though I posted, I missed out on :D So perhaps they're targetting only those that didnt claim the previous offer.

    • +4

Wasn't targeted so I guess I'll just have to Lift it in order for it to be free.

    • +2

      Bravo 👏

  • +7

Thanks OP for making me feel unloved by woolworths

  • Again, nothing for me.

  • Not targeted, but good deal.

  • Never…for me.

  • How do you get targeted for these kinds of deals?

    • I wasn't targeted but my housemate was so who knows.

      • Does s/he buys lots of soft drinks or things that goes well with soft drinks?

  • Is this stuff any good? Just noticed it the other day.

    • +1

I bit the bullet and gave it a shot and yeah it's heaps good

  • +6

Wasn't targeted for this deal, but I was targeted for 60 points if I spend $4 on sweet potatoes 🥔

    • +3

I've had Cavendish bananas for months now, I've never bought them 😂

  • +14

I don’t understand why they had to add caffeine to the Sprite version when Lift didn’t have any. It’s unnecessary

    • +2

Why not? It's a point of difference to most other soft drinks.

      • +11

Why not put cocaine in then? Would also be a point of difference.

        • Because a lot of drinks already have caffeine in them… at least, overseas they do. In the US even Sunkist has caffeine in it.

          • +3

@Mondorock: How can it be a point of difference if a lot of drinks already have it?

          • @Mondorock: But most Americans are already fat shits, guess we're headed that way so why not.

        • Who's up for this

          Everyone is

    • +4

Gotta get that highly addictive substance in there to ensure consumers brains tell them they really want a Sprite Lemon+ every day

    • +1

agreed - kids don't need caffeine

    • +1

For reference Mello Yello (precursor to Lift) did have caffeine.

  • +3

They need to make the targeted banner appear on the home page… it’s probably more important than the tomorrow banner.

  • but………….just keep lift if you want a lemon drink?

  • +9

    Why does everything need cafeeeeeeine

    • +6

To keep us all awake, so we can watch/read more advertisements?

    • +4

Need electrolytes, it's what plants crave.

      • +2

        Brawndo FTW!

    • This is why, Pepsi light > Every other drink

  • +3

I got a free Mojo Kombucha

    • Same

      • Yup me too

        • Also me.

    • Also a Coca Cola product, and guess what, it's an absolute dog for them to move.

    • I've had that before and it's pretty ordinary

  • Picture shows 1.5l…. we are ripped off.

  • What is this sorcery

  • "Please drink this because we've killed off lift".

whiny voice Please? I'll be your best friend.

  • nothing for me

  • +3

Tastes like watered down solo, not worth the money even when free.

    • +2

Solo, was great after bowling 20 overs on a hot day. Heck I'd even drink VB.

      • +1

Light on the fizz so you can slam it down fast.

      • But would you drink watered down VB, Fosters if you like, Lightice maybe…

  • +2

why are grocery stores mostly only stocking the sugar free variants?

    • Coca-Cola Europacific Partners

  • +4

    Booooo Lift forever

  • +2

I am so happy Coca-Cola Amatil got brought out, I love these new ranges from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.

    • +5

Coca cola marketing has entered the chat

    • +1

TIL that CCA merged with Coca-Cola European Partners to form Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.

The zero sugar version tastes so bad!

  • CCEP is eventually not going to produce anything worth drinking. I've stopped buying everything but coke, their products taste unworthy following sugar reductions

  • When they bringing in Fanta Lemon? That stuff was awesome when i went to greece

    • During the 2010s Lift was rebranded as Fanta Lift Lemon (same formulation, from memory)

Didn’t last too long, and was replaced by a different formulation, again branded as Lift, but with the “hard hitting lemon” tagline.

Back to the future with the Lift brand being rolled into an existing brand, I guess.

  • +1

There was an article earlier about lift on news.com.au

    • -5

Not a reliable news source so I down voted

  • +2

I didnt get the Sprite offer, I got a free Mojo Kombucha offer instead. 330ml… hmmmm…

  • +1

I wouldn’t drink this if you would give me money for it! Tried it once at a friends place by accident. Gross, but maybe it’s for those who can’t get enough of sugary drinks.

  • +1

thats weird all the points boost offers arent on their website anymore, just on their 'app'. Man i cant stand this nonsense every retailer trying to push you to use yet another pointless bloated 'app' for no reason

  • I just got the email telling me of this Rewards offer

  • +1

my local woolies can't keep anything in stock at the best of times

  • -2

This is targeted. pls add to tittle

    • +2

Please pay attention to the blue TARGETED sign above the title.

  • Funny that they used + in the name, as reminds me of Lift+ naming - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live%2B

  • Lost another customer CCA, can't stomach fake sugar.

  • I was instead targeted for mojo kombucha

  • +1

Not targeted for any freebies :(

  • +3

Why have they added Caffeine? Get people addicted to it?

Be amazed if this product lasts more than a year
