Singapore Return Direct Fr DRW $510, PER $538, ADL $637, BNE $659, MEL $684, SYD $693 [Fly Jan-Mar] @ Singapore Airlines via BTF

The 5 star airline is back again with fantastic mostly-direct return flights to Singapore, one of the best airports in the world as well.

I've done a rough search of the timeframe and listed some of the best dates below. The full list of hyperlinked dates and prices is available here

Qantas has some similar prices along a lot of the same routes - and you can filter by this. On a couple of routes (SYD/MEL) I'm even seeing some comparable Emirates prices!

Also seeing hotels in Singapore with discounts of up to 59% off!

  • Let's hope Qantas price match.

    • They have been - a lot of the results turn up comparable Qantas and Emirates (on SYD/MEL routes) prices.

  • hope they have deal to Ho Chi Minh soon

how come no Syd to LA deals with Singapore for April?

also prices seems to have increased

  • Has never booked any ticket before via beatthatflight or Trip.com. The prices on what I'm after are pretty good.
    Noob questions:
    1. Would the booking show up right away on the airline system after booking with say Trip.com?
    2. Can I made changes (with charges) directly with the airline (SQ) instead of going through Trip.com?

    • Generally, any changes have to be made via the agent.

    • 1) If you put in your FF #, then it should show in your app/website. How long that takes I'm not too sure, min/hours?
      2) Almost always have to go through Trip.com in this case.

    • We had a bloody terrible experience with trip.com. very difficult to deal with when things go wrong. China based customer service that will bounce you from one person to another endlessly Avoid at all costs…..

    Cheaper booking directly on https://www.singaporeair.com

eg. Sydney to Singapore 2-15 Mar 23 $680 vs $693

    Hi BTF,

One of the websites that your deals link to is smartfares, reviews of this site are pretty negative with a lot of them saying that the site tries to charge extra or not even give them their tickets. Do you know whether this is true?

    • A lot of the OTAs (online travel agencies) get comments like that. In my experience, they're like a rental car company - you can get great prices, then they try to upsell you on everything - do you want insurance, do you want SMS updates, do you want cancellation insurance, do you want seat selection and so on.

I was booking one the other night (not smartfares, but have used them with no issues) and had to click no to about 20 things, but got the price advertised in the end.

So personally, I've used them without issue, and I'd presume that's enough to indicate it's not a scam and more likely is people either not reading the T&Cs and then having issues, or trying to change things like the name/date on the ticket and being asked for more money. There's a reason the prices are often cheaper - they get you if you change anything, but provided it's all smooth and you haven't made a typo on your booking name, usually it's smooth, in my experience.

Certainly not saying everyone on those forums are liars/wrong, but if a company really wasn't giving customers their tickets, the airline would stop allowing that company to sell their tickets pretty darn quickly.
