  • Good for those that still have gift cards from the AGL churning deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/714133

    • AGL offer store credit Can be used only in-store.

      • My message says credit can be redeemed in store or online

        • Terms and Conditions
          3. AGL Store Credits can be used in-store only at The Good Guys AGL Store Credits cannot be used
online or on the Good Guys eBay site and Commercial stores.

          You can give a try.

      • Ah bummer!

    • I quickly google and it seems like the deal is still going on, with $200 The Good Guys credit when you join AGL.
      https://www.agl.com.au/get-connected/electricity-gas-plans/v…

I signed up to AGL and got a text message with $200 TGG credit code within 3 minutes. lol

*Edit: sorry guys the message I receive with the TGG credit clearly says it can only be used in store

      • the credit is reduced though

      • Great deal. If only I had a choice of energy providers I'd snap that offer up :(

    • have the credit too but what to buy..

Getting excited when reading all categories….then seeing the excluded brands list. Gets me ….every…. time….

    • Gets us all the time.

  • Do preorders count?

  • How do we use the Ultimate gift cards online at TGG?

Also do they price match? Laptop I want is $150 cheaper at Officeworks and HN

    • +1

Yes they price match BUT, to the best of my understanding, that will be "negotiated deal (phone/email/chat)" as per the OP's description above hence, cashback is void.

I tend to find TGG to be overpriced nowadays. Google the item code and chance are you will find it cheaper elsewhere. Appliances Online are my go to as delivery is free. Not always the cheapest, but are more times than not plus free delivery.

Obviously Appliances Online isn't going to help you as you are wanting a laptop.

      • +1

I've found AO have become far less competitive on price lately, and they've dropped their price match policy.

Am I missing something, or do you think their pricing is still alright? I recently went shopping for a new heat pump dryer and my first stop was AO, after narrowing down a couple of models and googling, I ended up getting it cheaper even with a $55 delivery fee on top.

Ultimate Home gift cards are prepaid Visa gift cards that are restricted to a small list of participating retailers, so you input the Ultimate Home gift card details into the debit/credit card section of the online checkout. This also means you can only redeem a maximum of 1 Ultimate Home gift card in one online transaction. Considering the gift card deal at Woolworths includes the $50-$500 variable load denomination of the Ultimate Home gift card, you can redeem a maximum of $500 from an Ultimate Home gift card from that deal.

If you want to redeem more than $500 from Ultimate Home gift cards for one TGG online transaction and still be eligible for cashback, there are workarounds, but it will involve a trip to a TGG store… let me know if you’re in that boat and I’ll further elaborate.

      • -1

Do you know if I can use the Ultimate Home Gift card + another CC payment online if the amount is more than $500? E.g without a TGG gift card?

        • You cannot do that, as you cannot use more than one card on TGG online. If you input details of a card in the debit/credit card section of the checkout and go to make payment, TGG online will attempt to redeem the amount due from that card.

      • +1

Thanks Wookie. I found the link below to a previous comment so I am all clear on what needs to be done.

My only issue is the price differential between TGG and Officeworks/HN which I can't seem to find a way around and keep the cashback with CR.

        • Yeah, I guess you cannot have it all!

If you live near a TGG store, you could always go in and see whether they can do a deal, and they may undercut Officeworks or Harvey Norman. However, I wouldn’t hold my breath, as staff would probably either just pricematch or not even match Officeworks or Harvey Norman.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Yes I am resigned to the fact that my "triple discount plan" (Cashback, discounted gift cards and TRS refund) is not going to happen. Now just trying to crunch the numbers and see what works best.

  • How about store credit?

    • +1

Would like to know too. Just received my $20 concierge store credit.

    • +2

Cashback works with concierge. It's essentially a gift card.

  • The cashrewards app has a bug loading the good guys page, just defaults to "my account" and keeps trying to reload (android)

    • Starts at 12pm as per above description?

      • No it's a bug in general… js in the background conflicting with the app

  • Might go grab a few Ultimate home gift cards. A few Weber items Im keen on although just checked and would need to do delivery as my locals dont have stock

    • I think the good guys only allows 2 gift cards online

      • +3

        Sort of.

        • TGG accepts a maximum of 2 TGG gift cards on their online store. This is inputted in the gift card section of the checkout screen.

        • TGG accepts a maximum of 1 Ultimate Home gift card on their online store. This is inputted in the credit/debit card section of the checkout screen.

You can combine these two in one online transaction; in other words, you can redeem a maximum of 1 Ultimate Home gift card and 2 TGG gift cards in the same online transaction.

        • Ah ok thanks Wookie! What is the highest value Ultimate Home gift card that can be bought at ww this week?
Just read your post above $500 is the maximum!

          • @attalisie: $500

Woolworths sells a $50-$500 variable load denomination of the Ultimate Home gift card.

If you want to redeem more than $500 from Ultimate Home gift cards in one online TGG transaction and still be eligible for this cashback deal, there is a potential workaround, but it involves going to your local physical TGG store and using an Ultimate Home gift card (or multiple) to purchase a TGG gift card. You can read more about it here. Obviously, this strategy will only work for an online purchase of $1500 or less, so you’ll need to do the maths to work out whether this will work (and whether it is worth the hassle!).

            • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks a lot, really appreciate your knowledge and always helping us out!

        • Thanks..lucky I read this first.
I take it you cant do one purchase with an UHGC and then do another one later in the day with another ultimate card ??

Im looking at one item worth $400
and then one at $75 and another at $85

I could I guess just go a single $500 Ultimate GC but from checking one item would need to be shipped at $5

          • +1

@Squeezy: Can't see any reason you couldn't do this as 3 separate transactions

            • @hindo: Done Picked up the woolies card in the morning. Cashback tracked instantly and giftcard worked perfectly once I logged onto Ultimate gift card page and got an expiry date for the cards to enter into the CC field

  • Does anyone happen to know the biggest value ultimate gift card available from Woolworths?

    • $500

I have no idea whether your local Woolworths actually stocks it though. Most of my local Woolworths stock it, but some don’t. YMMV.

      • +1

Thanks heaps. Makes it worthwhile trying.

Lg oled 42" 1778 with 12% cashback (not inc GST) then less $70 good guys cash. Then gift card discount….. Not bad.

    • The WW GCs here in Vic as listed by OP, with 10% back. What is max denomination I can buy to order the $2k LG C2, and does GG online have any limits of number of GCs or other issues?

I have $20 concierge @ GG to use or lose this weekend… any suggestions?

selleys products, hair dryer. Remington travel one is great, any sort of extension cord, or powerboard, double walled coffee cups, batteries, salter, kitchen scales, photocopy paper……….

  • Will cashback work for this one?

Also, is that TV any good for a small room? Want to upgrade from my 1080p one.

    • It's not in the list of excluded brands so I don't see why it wouldn't.
I just ordered a tv and got the tracking email from cash rewards a minute after the GG confirmation email

  • LG C2 65" with 12% cash back off non-GST price makes it overall $3203. Is that the cheapest it's been? :D

    • Was under 3k in July

  • Purchased a DJI mini 2 the other day but haven’t picked it up yet. Think if I call them up now, ask them to return it then buy again this cash back will track?

  • Some items have an automatic "Price Beat" where they automatically match some competitors. Since it's not a negotiated deal, is it safe to assume that it won't cancel the cashback?

    • How does that work? And do you know what items are included?

      • +1

You'll see a "Price check now" button under the price, e.g. for this TV.

The item may still be cheaper elsewhere though! So you should still shop around.

Is it just me or is anyone else unable to login to their TGG account?

    • yep, in the end it finally loads, but it is like it is doing nothing at first

  • If I buy product like a fridge and buy concierge with it do I still get the cash callback for the Fridge ?
    Noting Concierge is not eligible?

    • I'm keen to know this also. Sometimes cashback can be a bit fickle.

      • You can still use the concierge $20 credit (as its like a gift card not a discount)

        • Thanks. I get that but what we are curious about is if we buy concierge extended warranty etc with the product we are purchasing will that interfere with the cashback going through? Given that cashback is not eligible on purchases of concierge. I think it unlikely that it would mess with it.

  • +1

edit: CR contacted me about my tracking issue, it's being looked into now.

  • Any decent tvs on special? Or bbq even? I'm finding it hard to find anything even with the cashback and cards!? Bu8000 Samsung 75?

  • +1

not sure if we can earn store cash from the deal?

  • Anyone know if I can use the Ultimate Gift card to buy a TGG e-giftcard online? Looking for a Dyson Airwrap which exceeds the $500 on the card :(

    • hhhmmm, don't think you would be able to do that, but you can always try……….

    • +2

      No.

TGG sells TGG digital gift cards through a third-party gift card provider (True Rewards). Considering True Rewards is not a participating retailer of the Ultimate Home gift card, any attempt to purchase a TGG gift card online would be declined.

To “convert” your Ultimate Home gift card into a TGG gift card, you will need to go to a TGG physical store and use an Ultimate Home gift card to purchase a TGG gift card (assuming staff let you do this; as long as you tell staff you want to use a card to pay for the TGG gift card, you should be fine).

Alternatively, have a look at various discounted gift card portals to see whether you can purchase a TGG gift card at an admittedly small discount. Alternatively again, you can purchase a TGG gift card from Prezzee or via True Rewards without any discount to cover the difference between the Dyson and the Ultimate Home gift card balance.

Has anyone had any experiences with TGG 'Storecash'? Apparently you can earn $70 store cash on 500+ purchase. This would also be compatible with CR I imagine.

    • Don't know about storecash, but I got the storecredit from the end of financial year cashrewards deal, which from all intents is the same thing just rebranded.
They said it would come on a specific day, but it didn't. I tried to contact someone to ask about it but there's no way to reach anybody via email or livechat, and phone was a 1.5hour wait. There was also trouble with the cashrewards tracking, and I had to make a manual claim. It was eventually credited (thankfully).

It came unexpectedly a week later, but with an extra $20 added. Given that it only had an expiry date of a week, I would have preferred more of a headsup.

So while it worked out alright in the end.. it wasn't a straightforward ride.

      • StoreCash sounds like it expires at the $10 mark, based on my discussions today here on OzB.

    • I'm dealing with this right now, I just 'earnt' $50 of it and it expires in 10 days.
Anyone know if they let you price match AND use StoreCash?

  • Also when looking at this https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/breville-the-barista-express-…

I was offered a promo code for 'price matched'. Is this eligible with cashrewards?

    • Delete it to be safe

  • This kind of deal seems made for the Xbox S (digital version)

Normally $499, you buy it plus something cheap just to push it over the $500 limit. In return, you get $54 cashback and $50 store credit.
Pay with a giftcard bought at 10% off, and that's another $50 saving.

  • I'm looking at a bosch dishwasher listed at $1499. The GG site automatically pops up its price match thing and says it will price beat by reducing price $110.
When I add it to the cart the discount is listed as "Price Beat Discount −$110.00" There is no mention of a promo code.
As I read the T&C on cash rewards this should be OK but Id like a confirmation I'll still get the cashback if I use the automatic price beat?
