Between that and the Amex I’m an efficient consumer whore.

Got my card Yesterday, it's a sign!

    • +1

      literally me too?!

      • +1

Is 28d trending or have I missed something?

        • I think that you and I are standing on the wharf!

    • How long did it take for the card to arrive after applying?

      • I don't have a physical card, but they gave me the account number and info to add it digitally, took a day and a half to process.

        • +1

How did you add to shopback digitally? Did latitude provide you with the credit card number, exp and csv or?

  • can anyone tell me please, what is the yearly or monthly Fee of Latitudes Credit cards ?? or is there any free one ??

    • +9

28 degree is free. No oversea transaction fee as well.

      • No oversea transaction fee as well.

        Not 100% correct.

The above only applies to credit charging transactions that are not to financial providers. If you use 28deg to pay AliExpress via PayPal, or if you prepay your card and expect to be able to withdraw it at an overseas atm fee free, you’ll be stung with cash advance fees.

        • +1

Ive used my 28 degrees card via paypal to pay for stuff on aliexpress probabaly 15 times in the last 6 months. I also use the card through paypal with several international retailers every month. Not once have I ever been hit with a cash advance fee. Do you by chance mean Alipay and not Aliexpress?

However, I do have paypal set to charge the card in the specified foreign currency as default and have faced no issues.

That overseas ATM withdrawal trick also used to work like a charm until it was deliberately blocked maybe like 5 or 6 years ago. It was good while it lasted.

        • +1

There were reports of AliExpress being categorised as a financial provider ages ago, but no problem with it these days, I use 28D with PayPal there without fees.

      • thanks mate, really helpful.

  • How about the https://www.latitudefinancial.com.au/credit-cards/latitude-i… ?

edit: not included, just saw promo on Shopback app

  • Any idea if u can opt in now or only after 1 Oct.
I can't seem to find the promo in the app

    • There was a banner add just below "Gift Cards" section on the Home tab for my android app. Doesn't look like you can opt in early, however Shopback encouraging you to sign up to a Latitude Card to take advantage of promos…

  • Thanks OP.

How did you find out about this?

    • Pop up on updated app.

      • +2

Can confirm, just opened my app and looks like there's four weekends of promos for Latitude Gem Visa, 28 Degrees MC and Go MC holders

  • Cash advance or naa ?

    • Naa

    • What is naa?

      • Payment in bread.

      • Naa = the tranny doesn’t count as cash advance.

  • Nice

  • Is the use of cashback balance as partial payment allowed?

    • As per description, as long as you pay $350 from the card. So, you have to buy more expensive card to pay via balance (I think)

  • +1

Wonder if you can get more cashbacks on Secondary 28Degree cards against different Shopback accounts?

  • +2

They don't stock Woolies gc ?

Opt-in to the challenge should be in bold. Don't want to jump in and buy $350 of gc then realised you missed that crucial step…

    • Is there Amazon gc?

      • +1

        I believe so.
I think Amazon is even part of the super swap (with Coles and Bunnings)

        • How does super swap work?

          Also is it Coles mastercard?

          • +3

@capslock janitor: Basically ShopBack have an allocation of brands and denominations from midnight every day.

There’s a few brands that are always there (eg Amazon, eBay), and some that are there some/most of the time (eg Coles). You can swap your values for whatever is available at that time, and can do up to five in the same ‘swap’ transaction, and rinse and repeat when you want/need to use them.

Do be aware that some brands don’t allow you to use the vouchers immediately (yeah I’m looking at you, IKEA!). I can confirm that eBay, Amazon and Coles transfer and can be used almost instantly. IKEA “takes 48-72 hours before it can be used” according to the girl at IKEA Springvale….

EDIT: also, the high denomination Coles vouchers sell out by afternoon, so buy them in the AM! Could get mighty frustrating paying for a couple hundred $$ shop with $5 vouchers…

            • @[Deactivated]: For example,
              I could exchange 10x $5 IKEA vouchers for a $50 Amazon Gc or… Foodie/Ultimate Eats card?

What point where does the "swapping" happen… is it checkout?

              • +1

@capslock janitor: Umm the gift card type is called a “Super Swap Gift Card”. It’s a gift card that you can’t directly use at a retailer, but that you swap it to the retailer (and value) you want. Once you swap for that retailer and value, you can’t swap it back to a different retailer.

Values are predefined as well. Some retailers offer denominations such as $5, $10,$30,$50,$100…. Some might offer $10, $25,$100 etc

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Only $20 Coles vouchers mid AM today, by early afternoon $50 we’re back in stock.

      • T&C says must be in "single transaction". Got caught-out with Amazon - max 3x $100.

  • +1

Worth applying for the 28 degrees credit card still? I find using ING / Citibank sufficient for overseas transactions, but this $50 might be a good enough incentive.

    • +1

I was thinking the same but na.. ING card is good for me.

      • I thought a true ozbgainer rarely opens up credit card acc without $400+ worth of bonus…
Had i not already have my 28d card, i would give this a miss.

        • +1

If additional card holders are eligible, then it multiplies that $50. 14 days might be a bit tight though.

    • Best cards seems to be 28° (although can't get price protection policy anymore) and CBA (although they really sck blls with their application process - I gave up)

    • It's a fee free card but the price protection insurance that's no longer offered made it really worth while.

This cashback offer is only for this weekend so I doubt you'd get a new card in time though.

  • Is the Coles credit card still a Latitude card or Citibank?

    • Should still be Citibank

      • its NAB now

  • Limited redemptions… How many??

    • +1

You'll probably know once the challenge starts.

    • 1500.
514 claimed as of writing this.

You'll see it when you opt in to the challenge.

  • +1

Will supplementary cards work? Can’t find anything in the conditions

    • +1

I have the same question. I am presuming….. if your using the supp cards against a different shopback account, then yes. Will be adding my partners card to her shopback account for her :).

  • Can I charge this to the same card on separate shopback accounts?

    • I just love this! Will apply for GEM or 28D to get the offer. Can someone confirm the question above?

  • Saw this deal middle of night and remembered great things people tell about the 28 degrees card, went through the application process that got stuck in some tech issue after showing an approval screen.
My email said it was a conditional approval and that they needed income proof. I tried to access application and the tech issue kept popping up, but was eventually approved in the next 10 mins without needing to uploading anything additional. All this at like 4 am, only to realise that price protection is no more offered, which I read a while ago when I last thought of applying but had since forgotten.

The speed of processing and approval should be useful for anyone else considering applying. It says 10 business days for card to arrive so hopefully that’s just with in the 14day period for this offer.

How often do we see other kind of offers on the 28 degrees card?

    • Have you received your card?

    • Where did you get 14 days for this deal?

I see "must be charged to your card to qualify) between 10:00am AEST on 1st October 2022 and 11:59pm AEDT on 2nd October 2022 (unless the offer is modified, extended or terminated prior)."

  • Does this stack with other challenges?

    • Anyone?

  • What are "ShopBack In-Store voucher purchases"? I haven't used ShopBack before and assumed it meant Gift Cards but OP indicates that you can buy Gift Cards. What is the difference? Can someone please clarify as the exclusions state "ShopBack In-Store voucher purchases are excluded from this offer".

    • I assume it means buying gift cards from a physical store and not their portal.

      • That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

  • +1

Is it worth to apply 28 Degrees Card? How does it compare other rewards credit card like amex explore?

  • +1

This is not a “rewards” card.

  • Great if you need to go oversea for $0 fee. But they have this Payment handling fee:
    $2.50 (in person), $0.95 (online).
You can avoid this fee by making your payments via mail, direct debit or via the Online Service Centre.

    • Has been the case for years now, not an issue with online service centre, just direct debit from your bank account. You pull the funds instead of pushing the funds. The new website/app is pretty good too

  • +5

Super swap giftcard doesn't have $350. Will it work for 2x$175 in one transaction?

    • +2

      yes

*Receive $50 bonus cashback from ShopBack when you spend $350 or more in one single transaction via the gift card portal in the ShopBack app using an eligible Latitude credit card ($350 or more must be charged to your card to qualify) between 10:00am AEST on the 1st October 2022 and 11:59pm AEDT on 2nd October 2022 (unless the offer is modified, extended or terminated prior).

    • It still doesnt meet 350 requirement, edit : it does; I thought the 2% cashback is immediate.

  • +3

    got an email from latitude.

Hurry! Offer is for this weekend 1st and 2nd October 2022 - with more deals to come!

Be ready to purchase your gift card by signing into your ShopBack account and linking your Latitude 28° Global Platinum Mastercard credit card.

    • +1

That will confuse people who are used to receiving a rebate directly on the statement.

  • It looks like they take off go mastercard from the promo

  • I can't opt-in, even when the shopback promo in the app takes me to the 'link your card' page.

  • Banner says starts at 10am aest

Hopefully the super swaps are back in stock

    • Lucky I checked ozbargain and saw the tag "later today"

  • +1

GO Platinum Mastercard® has been removed from the eligible card list???

    • Looks like it as its not listed on the App, only the Latitude Gem Visa and Latitude 28 degree Global Patinum are listed.

  • +1

Wondering if it can stack up with the current shopback Cashback
$30 back on $200 gc Deliveroo
$15 back on $100 gc dick smith

  • Can someone confirm how the super swap cards work? If I buy say $200 gc super swap, can I exchange for $100 Coles gc and $100 Bunnings gc for eg?

    • +2

Yes, you can. Quite flexible. Saving the original super swap gc to Prezzee wallet makes it even better.

      • what's prezzee wallet and why do that?

        • +1

I guess it allows to manage your cards and balance there instead of in shopback. Seems that SB gc is just prezzee white branding

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: interesting, can superswap be added to gpay+applepay and stocard?

            • @capslock janitor: Doubt it. I only registered to prezzee now and with super swap it's bloody brilliant.
Was at Kmart hence redeemed $25, then partner needed $30 hence redeemed $30. Super easy

      • I'm late to the party but that's bloody awesome.
I missed out on so many prezzee deal.
Also I don't have a cc that accrues points hence don't mind buying discounted cards instead

  • Only 278/1500 ppl in the queue?

So you can't buy $350 Amazon GC, $300 is the limit 🤬

  • Am I still eligible if I use same card for 2 accounts, my partner and myself?

    • +3

You can’t add the same card to different account.

      • ic.thanks

      • +1

Different scenario, but you can add your partners supplementary card to her shopback account.

  • Does anyone have any insights as to what the subsequent weekend offers could be?

  • Will be interested to see how many miss out due to the 1500 redemption limit.
