  • did they ever have roaming so you can receive validation sms when overseas?

    Think last time they didn't

    • since they use Telstra, roaming to receive text messages should work

    • Roaming didn't work for me in Canada

  • Damn. Just received my $200 Boost Prepaid earlier. Got it cheaper ($156~) but obviously this offer's better with the $35 CR cashback.

  • I have issues with checking out.. anyone have the same issues?

    • Hi! Can you try again and let me know if you are still having the same issue?

  • +1

How much data do I get if I activate after September 26th? My plan doesn’t run out until next month.

    • The data inclusions for this price point have remained fairly consistent over the past 6 months, I wouldn't worry about that!

  • +1

Can I port from Telstra to Boost?

    • +1

sure, you can port between any telco

    • +1

There were (unsure if it's still the case) issues porting from Telstra to Boost and vice-versa. In that there could be a considerable delay (and downtime) in the process.
easier to port out and then back in again which is insane, but it was the recommendation.

      • I ported from Belong to Telstra few months back within minutes, I'm sure it'd work the same way in reverse

      • After recently buying this SIM for $164 from a phone accessory store in town, once home I ported my existing number from Telstra to Boost in 15 - 20 minutes. I used Boost's webpage Chat service and apart from getting put on its version of 'Hold' a couple of times for something to be done at the other end, it was all very easy.

The Boost Chat person obviously had access to my Telstra account, since they had some details already and also Telstra sent a couple of SMS and/or emails to me during the process. I did have one concern on leaving Telstra, however I still seem to have Telstra's scam SMS 'vapouriser' filtering out dodgy messages before I even see them - great :)

  • Nvm. See answer above

  • Does anyone know if this allows for international roaming? can I receive SMS while overseas?

    • -1

Boost has no roaming. Your only other option is Wi-Fi calling. According to Boost chat, the phone won't work once you leave the Australian shore. So no call or SMS. But Wi-Fi calling has worked for many people before. And when I tried to confirm with chat, they basically said 'good for them'. No real explanation.

      • Does anyone know of any options that do have international roaming? My only need is to recieve verification SMS to my number. Im on Coles now, but willing to jump to another plan beofre it expires if I can.

      • Same situation as danield. Need to receive SMS verification so looks like Boost is no go.

      • +1

For overseas usage, does wifi calling needs connecting to any specific wifi? Or can we connect to any wifi in the overseas country and use the calling? Does wifi calling also includes sms service?

    • +1

I was in Singapore and The Philippines 10 days ago and i was able to receive sms messages with my boost sim it has only just happened because when i was in The Philippines in July and before that i had no roaming reception with boost.

      • I had similar experience with Telstra prepaid, no roaming in mid July but got magically enabled while I was overseas in August or late July

    • +5

Most of the below answers are incomplete / incorrect.
I am with boost mobile, roaming in southern India. My boost mobile Sim picks up Airtel signal, can confirm that I can receive OTPs from my bank in Australia
When I connect to my home wifi it picks up wifi calling and I can call back to Australia and send and receive texts to Australia without charges

      • very helpful comment! Also for overseas usage, does wifi calling need connecting to any specific wifi? Or can we connect to any wifi in the overseas country and use the calling? Does wifi calling also include sms service?

        • It connects to any wifi, I have tried it at Singapore Changi airports freewifi too it worked
Yes wifi calling includes SMS too that is both sending and receiving
All Callas and SMS back to Australia only

          • @malieckal: Thank you for your valuable feedback! I was little concerned about the same thing..

      • Good answer, can confirm this happened to me in Europe.

    • I'm pretty sure it does, I just got back from europe and received all of my texts, but I was running a data e-sim for internet

from Cashrewards "SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering."
    How strict is that?

I've got another 2 months to go on Amaysim

    • +2

      They enforce that.

  • tried twice placing order via CR app ang get "sorry, something went wrong".. anyone else getting this error and know what's wrong?

    • Hi! Can you try again and let me know if you are still having the same issue?

      • I have tried multiple times and tried again just now… I get the same error…

so do I miss this offer for no fault of mine?

  • +1

    Bought 1. Thanks OP

  • I read on a Boost post yesterday that you can get on boost chat and transfer your existing boost number to the new sim,

  • so if I activate the sim card after 26/9 I will only get 130 gb right?

    • Based on the above comments from iananda it is unknown but should be similar to current data offer..

    • I did a search on the net and can confirm its only 10GB extra so after 26/9 would be 130GB

      • Sauce?

        • +1

Boost and other sellers of the sim

  • hm, why not $119 coles 365 days 120G plan?

    • Someone already asked. See above.

Can i port and take Telstra mobile number to Boost? I seem to recall reading of complexities in the past

    • My partner went from Belong to Boost a month ago and it took around 18~ hrs. She just ported back to Belong yesterday and it took 5 minutes.

      • Well that's good to know.. coz I'm on Belong and I was thinking I had to port away first..

        Thanks

Can I ask why you ported back? Problems with Boost?

        • +1

No problems, I just stocked up on the $80 belong starter packs a couple months back. Our first ones just finished, so we've jumped over to the free 28 day Boost so that we can reset and use another starter pack.

I've just done the same myself. Went from Belong to Boost on Monday night and swapped in seconds.

    I have 2 questions
    1. Can I activate this sim in October ? If yes, what will happen?
    2. I already have one number with boost. I want make my another number to be with boost as well. In this case, am I still eligible for this offer?
    Thx

    • +1

      Hi there,
You can absolutely activate your SIM in October. The activation date relates to the bonus data, as we will have a data refresh from the 27th of September.
The data inclusions have remained fairly consistent over the last 6 months so you won't miss out on any value in October anyways.
And yes you are still eligible to take advantage of this offer considering you will be activating a second SIM.

      • so basically you are saying the bonus data would still be honored if we activate after 26th/Sep?

As I have got 2 numbers waited to be port back to boost before the 26th to earn that bonus data.

I believe this is a very important thing for a lot of us right now.

        • +1

I'm unable to disclose what the inclusion will be, however, the data inclusions for this price point have remained consistent over the past 6 months, so I wouldn't worry about that!

  • Thanks, grabbed one.

    • +1

We're glad to have you on board! :)

A number previously was with boost and ported to Woolworths mobile will be considered a new customer or not?

    • +1

      Yes it will!

      • Thanks i was with WW mobile for my second number for 1 year and time to come back! still have my primary number with boost.

        • +1

We're glad to have you back :)

  • 4G or 5G???

    • +1

      5G currently on mine

  • Can I port my number to another cheap provider and port back in as a new customer qualify for the deal ?

    • Apparently you don't need to do that when you receive the new sim get onto chat and ask them to change your current boost number onto the new sim.

      • @iananda can you please confirm the above?

        • Read a post from a couple of days ago about a third of the way down first page.

        • I can confirm our online offers are valid for new customers only!

  • -1

    140gb for a year not enough. I am already using 1gb a day that’s 365gb at least!

    • It's enough if you wfh and are connected to wifi. I've got 3 months remaining and 60GB left

  • could someone please clarify the below for me?

Activate First recharge 140GB before 26/9 - ok I need to activate before 26/9 and 140GB is guaranteed, as you refresh the data amount on 27th after 27th 140 can be the same or higher
Activate Second recharge 130GB before 22/11 - what does this 22/11 date mean? Does it mean 130 GB is guaranteed for the second recharge before 22/11? who would do a second recharge before 22/11 as it is just 2 months from their first recharge? Am I understanding this wrongly?

    @iananda

    Thank you

    • His earlier comment says "It means that your data allocation for this 12 month SIM is 140GB, and after 12-months when you are due for another recharge, the allocation for this specific product will be 130GB (however, you can choose to recharge at any price point after 12 months - you are not locked into this plan)."

    • I have asked TA to adjust that on the post, we only have an activation date relating to the first recharge:

140GB on your first recharge, 130GB from 2nd recharge.

Value Sim includes the first recharge. Data offer valid for new customers only who activate by 26 Sept 2022. Terms Apply.

What this means is that when you purchase this plan you will get 140GB of data, and when you are up for a renewal 12 months later you will get 130GB of data.

      • Great, thank you for your kind reply 🙏🏼

  • Do you have to activate this to get the Cashback. My current plan doesn't expire until December.

    • We will have great deals during Black Friday and Click Frenzy, so you can wait until then to purchase.

  • Cannot seem to purchase " Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

    Trying to purchase- help!

    • Hi! Can you try again and let me know if you are still having the same issue?

      • I have tried 6 times. I have bought 2 Prepaid Starter SIMs and I want to buy another 2 more but I keep on having the same message "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later"

        • I've sent you a private message, let's try to work through it!

  • Oh man, I recharged 130gb data for $200 just over a week ago :(

  • Can I use this for recharge?

  • +1

Just bought one. Thanks for sharing!!

    • We're glad to have you on board! :)

  • Got one. Also got Cashrewards

How does cash rewards work? I got the $35 back already but how do I use that $35 balance for future purchases?

  • I'm with telstra now. Does this mean I need to Port out to a random provider then can only sign up for this deal?

    • +1

No, you can port from Telstra to Boost.

  • +1

I’m already with Boost mobile for a prepaid plan. If I buy this and port another number (also in my name) will I still be a new customer?

    • +1

Yes, as long as you are porting in another number.

  • @iananda I don't have an Australian passport or an austalian driver's license. When purchasing the sim it says "When taking delivery of your purchase, you'll need to show the same ID you used in your order – for security reasons". I only have an overseas passport and a valid visa. How can I purchase the sim? Do you really verify the Australian passport or license when delivering? Thank you.

    • @iananda

      • +1

You can show an overseas passport as proof of ID upon delivery.

        • Thank you very much, isn't it coming from Australian post or something? I have never encountered a situation where someone ask for my verification when it is delivered to the home :) Oh do I need to stay at home when the delivery guy comes? lol

        • +1

Anyways ordered one just now. Thank you for your quick responses Ananda. cashback is tracked instantly!

  • +1

Will I get the SIM card before the 26th sept if I order now? To get the bonus data

    • I asked Boost this quaestion. The answer is it depends where you are, 2-5 business days metro delivery.
Public holiday Thursday. Your chances are slim.

  • My current 12 month recharge expires mid-October. If there is more deals coming up in November, what is the best way to hold until then? Should I just recharge for a month or two (that would cost me $40, though, so might wipe out the savings - in other words, should I just pay the $200 for 130GB?).

Also, if you buy an offer like this and you still have a few weeks left on your current one, can you switch over straight away forfeiting whatever remaining weeks you have?

And just for future reference, if I am already with Boost and get something like this on a deal later on, do I have to switch to a different provider and port back? I read some people say that they went to Boost live chat and were able to port their current Boost number to the new Boost SIM. No need to get a definite answer, just wondering if this is likely to work if I did it that way?

  • Hey, did anyone receive their tracking info. I still didn't get any update from Boost. Purchased on 20th…

    • Im still waiting for my tracking details.

      • Quick update
Mine arrived this afternoon, didnt receive any prior notice it was posted.
        Expiry date is 18/5/2024

        • Hey mate, mine too. Looks like they have heard our grievances 😄

    • Still no update, ordered on 19.

  • Cashrewards is telling me I'll only get $4.20 back??

  • Only received the SIM card today. What is the data allowance if I activate it now?

    • +1

      140GB, I did activate it today and received 130GB + 10GB

    • Website still shows 140GB, so that should be it.
