Seems that mWave is eligible partner for this promotion as well https://nbg.seagate.com/anzpromotions-IWSplurge

    • Up to a limit of one (1) Entry (as defined in Subsection 2.2 below) per participant per purchase transaction. A maximum of two (2) gift card claims are permitted per person.

So best deal is 2 drives x 2 purchase transactions :)

= $269 per drive (plus postage)

  • Cheers OP, bought 2, been looking for a while now, to fill my planned turning of the wife's 8year old ITX platform into a home NAS.
Lots of people claiming high noise from these, over the WDs, but it's also unclear if they are comparing the slower speed 8TB WDs to the faster Seagates.
In the end, I've had pretty average luck with WD drives, mostly portable, and good experiences with Samsung/Seagate, so I'm convinced this isn't a bad buy at this price with the redemption.

  • Are NAS drives OK for desktop use? As a local backup I guess.

  • Thanks I picked up a few of these

  • Now for the promo.
