[WA] Up to $300 Rebate for Purchase & Set up of Weather Smart Irrigation Controller (Perth & Peel Areas) @ Water Corporation

130

The Perth summer is just around the corner so this may be helpful for some.

A hoop to jump through for this but I'm looking at purchasing the Orbit B-Hyve ($198) - have heard some good things about it

Install it myself and getting a 'waterwise garden irrigator' to tick off (for hopefully less than $100 - trawling the threads I found this comment)

If successful I will have replaced my ageing/problematic dumb controller for ~$0

I was heading down the open sprinkler/rain machine route but found the rebate had restarted and seems a no brainer.

Rebate limited to 2000

From water corp website

  • Good idea. Can you post who you find and engage as the water wise irrigator

  • This type of rebate only benefits the retailers as all prices are jacked up by $300 until the rebate ends.

    • Yeah I had posted this deal earlier and learnt that is not actually any deal🙄

    • Yeah, I'd say the 'waterwise garden irrigator' would be pretty happy these rebates get renewed every year.
Don't think we'll see any product price jacking given the small number of controllers eligible for the rebate and I don't think a WA deal of 2000 units would impact the price nationally.

  • I have the b.hyve because I read it had good reviews but regret it. There are connectivity issues and it fails to turn on the retic like 85% of the time, just makes a clunking sound. Have to manually start it which defeats the point of this in the first place. There also isn't much support for it, when I was googling it there were heaps of people stuck like me.

Get the Rainbird instead, my sister has that and it works better

    • I have the 6 station outdoor b-hyve model too, and it’s been good for me. In 1.5 years, it’s lost wifi/connectivity once and had to be power cycled.
However, the iOS version of the app received a major update early this year and is now full of bugs they refuse to fix. The web interface is fine, not sure about android app.

  • @Pete331 let me know how you go with your plan

  • I was looking at this and from the website you also need to purchase it from a "Waterwise Irrigation Design Shop or Garden Irrigator". Bunnings isn't listed in the pdf Water Corp link on the website.
