        • I got a similar response - they confirmed that I have been charged twice and will be refunding one of the amounts.

        • I got charged $89.60 for a order that didnt go through but now they are saying its for another order that I made but this order only totals $44.00

    • they replied :-) they are supposedly refunding my money….

  • Not much left, will pass this. Thanks OP

  • how come when i add a game to the cart, enter the 60off code, the price still stays the same?

    • my bad, just realised not everything is 60% off

      • -1

When I added the code, it wiped my cart, so you may need to re add them

  • come on Game i want starcraft II. Please add to the discount list

    • SC2? u wish

  • Everyone else s order still on "pending"?

    • +2

Yeah, but I ordered yesterday so I don't expect it to be shipped until Monday.

  • +1

Went to the Hurstville store, and bought (all pre-owned) Demons Souls, House of the Dead Overkill, Bioshock 2 Rapture Edition and Fallout 3 GOTY all on PS3. Also bought BF3:LE on the 360, and the code was unused!

  • Had another look after yesterday's purchase. Picked up motor storm on ps3 for around $7. Reviews look good. Old game but a goodie.

  • I managed to pick up the following PS3 titles all pre-owned and in great condition for $52:

    • Bulletstorm
    • Homeland
    • Killzone 2
    • Medal of Honor
    • Vanquish
  • +3

Rocked up at the closest local store and after about a half an hour of sleuthing, managed to pick these up:

    Rainbow Six Vegas 2 LE(Preowned)$10.00
    Darkness 2 LE $28.00
    FEAR 2 (Preowned) $6.00
    Darksiders $7.60
    Bulletstorm $11.20
    Metroid: Other M (Preowned) $10.00
    Metroid Prime 3 $12.00
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock $12.00
And some random audio cable thing for 3 Dollaridoo's

$99.80 all up. CHEAP AS CHIPS

Fairly solid effort. I shouldn't need any more games for the next decade

    • -2

"Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock $12.00"

That was $9 at EB a month ago…

  • +1

Went crazy on my order today and ended up spending over $120 but I got 15 xbox games.

    • which ones dude?

      • +1

        Ok here goes, dude.

        DIVINITY 2 COMPLETE EDITION(2 GAMES)$16
        DARKSIDERS $10
        OPERATION FLASHPOINT $10
        LOST PLANET $6
        LA NOIRE $12
        RED DEAD REDEMPTION $12
        RED FACTION ARMAGEDDON $8
        TOO HUMAN $6
        ALPHA PROTOCOL $8
        SPLINTER CELL CONVICTION X2 @ $4 = $8
        TIMESHIFT $6
        ENCHANTED ARMS $6
        FARCRY PREDATOR $6
        JOHN WOO STRANGEHOLD $6

Most of these games are in excellent condition and some even still sealed but sold as "pre-owned". Some of these are slightly cheaper online(I checked) but I prefer the security of buying in-store.

        • nice

        • +4

Thanks man. I felt so bad about buying so many games at once but there isn't a better time as GAME won't be here for long and these prices at retail are unprecedented. I just had to hide the 2 conspicuous GAME branded shopping bags full of the contraband from my mother or she might start asking too many questions!

        • im pretty sure even taking into account ozbargain, that we arent the only ones who buy more games than we're able to play

edit: to the person that negged 5 comments of mine in succession: seek professional help

        • +1

Absolutely, I stocked up for a year $210 worth on PS3 and 360. Thats on top of $30 I ordered online :/ Biggest disappointment - AFL LIVE, Best Buys- Assualt Horizon or Mass Effect 1/2

        • +3

It's good having the time to play them as I'm on holidays atm. But I swear I'm gonna quit my job and go on the dole for 6 months if another sale like this happens again soon or GAME has an even bigger one(75% off anyone?). The shooters tend to get played first :)

  • +2

    OK here is my list.

Went into my local on Friday and bought. (From memory)

    Steel Diver 3DS (Pre Owned)
    Shinobi 3DS (Pre Owned)
    Fifa 12 3DS x2 (New)
Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3DS (Pre Owned)
    RUSE X360 (New)
Band Hero Solo X360 (Pre Owned but was sealed)
    L.A Noire X360 (Pre Owned)
Michael Phelps Kinect (New) for $2 hahaha

Ahh, and I bought 1 more game. Can't remember what it is! This is going to annoy me until I get home!

So the 10 games were just under $90. Bargain for sure!

    • +1

      Well done.

    • +2

      "It's all a bit of a blur, but from memory I bought…"

    • +1

I was going to get the Michael phelps game new at $5, but I checked out gameplay on YouTube and the top comment was " what an insult to swimming" I couldn't buy it after that

      • +2

But the easter eggs hidden inside the game are worth the price alone. You get to smoke bongs and have crazy parties.

  • +1

The 60off code applies in store too? Not many titles left online and wonder the in store prices are worth for me traveling 20mins to checkout if 60off is for online only.

    • +2

The 60off code applies in store too?

Yep. My local had heaps more instore than was online too ;)

    • -1

Last time I looked, some games had been moved to the 2 for $30/$40 group, but the 60off code still worked

  • +1

    Picked up 10 Games for $105 on Friday (online) 5 xbox & 5 ps3 - thanks OP!

  • +1

Thanks. I am going to checkout my local next week. Hope there are still some decent games left.

  • ,

  • Today, I went to Hurstville Game store. Definitively got more games than online, most are seconds, price is couple $ higher tho.
Seems not that many people buying.

    • Very true, prices differ to the ones online. Still loads of bargains to be had!

      • EB was far busier that my local GAME when I popped in to return a faulty pre-owned today(grrrr). I think most shoppers didn't see the giant "60% off final clearance" banners that were draped across the front of the store.

  • Fingers crossed my order gets posted today

  • Ordered processed and everything is listed as packed (I didn't get it updated to shipped/tracking last time- I think their curior they use since the sales is worse then AUSpost and much cheaper). I ended up getting everything I ordered this time so:
    Sonic Generations (360)
    Shadow of the Dammed (360)
    Puzzle Bubble (3DS)

    • Mine's still pending :(

    • Still pending here too…

    • Still pending for my two orders too…

      • 2 orders are packed (although one of the items is "back ordered"..)

        2 others are pending.

        • my five are all still pending.. tra la la.

Hmmm.. doesn't seem like the withdrawal is coming up on my online statement. I swear it was there the other day. Might've just been put on hold temporarily.. heh

  • I've just noticed in Games' Store Locator that there's only 2 Stores in Victoria - have they started closing stores already? I was going to visit my local (Southland) to pick up a few more games but they are no longer listed.. this doesn't look good.. ref: http://www.game.com.au/stores#VIC

NB. there used to be a lot more than 2 stores in VIC!

    • +1

Most closed down within days of going into administration. It's pretty standard procedure from the administrators when owing soo much money.

    • Yeah theres like less then 30 stores now instead of 150. All the regional NSW ones are gone.

      • The board meeting tomorrow morning will likely determine the fate of GAME. I anxiously await.

        • The rest of the stores are closing it seems (reported yesterday). No news yet from todays board meeting.

  • The store at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza closed today with instructions pasted to the store to refer to the website for enquiries.

  • Bah. During the big push, due to a server error when I submitted payment, I thought one of my orders didn't go through as it crashed and reset my cart. So I went through and submitted it again.

I suddenly got a separate email invoice today for two similar orders. They say 'packed'. I wonder if it's worthwhile me calling up to cancel, given GAME's delicate situation right now…

    • Yes, I would advise. Most retailers would red flag identical duplicate orders but I wouldn't count on them showing initiative. Imagine paying for & receiving two copies of each game :P

  • +1

Scored Mass Effect 3 for $28.. Win!! :)

  • +2

Order still pending… got a bad feeling about this

    • +3

That's why I held back a bit and only picked up a few titles. If it all goes pear shaped I won't have lost much.

I expect it will be fine though. If they were selling in anything other than good faith now that would cause quite the backlash.

      • order still pending…

  • +1

My 5 games i made across 3 order arrived today via courier express. All preowned stuff in good condition.

  • +3

It's official. All Game stores will close

    http://ps3.mmgn.com/News/All-GAME-Australia-stores-to-close

  • Only the good die young (shaking head at EBGames)

  • My order has been charged to my cc, but the status on game.com still shows pending. What does it mean? Are they gonna charge me and close all shops without sending me the games? Any comment guys?

    • Sounds like they will be clearing stock before closing, so should be sending out all the orders.

    • Well that announcement was from yesterday, and seemed to relate to the physical stores.

The creditors are meeting today, so hopefully still a chance their online store will remain?

      • If I go to one of the shops which still list on their website, are they still open for business today or this week?

        • Half of them closed immediately - "the remaining 15 will be closed over the next few weeks".

          Give your local a call.

      • They will go into liquidation at some point is what happened at the meeting.

  • Received one of my orders today but still waiting on the other 2 and my refund for a order that never went through due to their site crashing. I seem to be having a problem getting a refund, done emails and phone calls and I still havent got it back yet. Anyone got a better way?

  • Mine are still 'pending' and no sign of it on my statment.. Again, I am certain that it was charged when I ordered. Do they do an authorisation (which goes away) then charge upon shipment.. doesn't sound like it, but here's to hoping! :(

    • Nope t hey charged me when my items where still pending

      • It's showing up now! :) It was missing from Recent Transaction, Outstanding Authorisations and Transactions, but it's now come up. Was charged and disappeared for whatever reason. Gives me more hope! :D

        • My transactions (charges) appeared on my cc account today - my 2 orders still pending

  • Ordered back on the 14th when it was 40% off. Status is still packed.
My second order 60% off on the 15th is still pending.
How looooong does it take to ship?

    • I got some of them today, still waiting on one order.

    • I think packed means they've shipped it. I made two orders, and the one with the status "packed", I've received. My other order has just been changed to "packed", so I assume I'll have those in the next few days.

  • +2

I rang my local store to ask if they had any crazy discounts on hardware yet. Unfortunately not as of yet, but they were one of the stores that was not immediately closed.

Any predictions on whether or not they'll start churning out hardware deals? I'm starting to regret not picking up a PS Vita for $248 at a Dick Smith's that was closing a few weeks ago. Couldn't justify buying the PS Vita and a 3DS (for $136) on the same day, though now that 2 weeks has passed I'm ready to make my next impulse gaming purchase.

Actually on a serious note, these sales are smashing my wallet, between Dick Smith's closing down, GAME closing down, and the usual great Steam deals that you get weekly I've probably spent about $400 on gaming sales in the past month…

    • +2

Soon enough, YOU will be closing down too, aka bankruptcy after spending all that cash jokes.
But on a serious note, I understand the buyer's psychology. If the price is irresistible enough to buy and just enough time has sufficiently passed between prior purchases then you can justify your purchase, even if you don't really need it. I'm trying to restrain myself from buying a PS3 console with these amazing <$250 deals atm.

  • How can all of you guys buy 10 games and actually play them all?

I wish I had any free time at all to game :(

I still got a couple of Wii games for my sister though, no idea if they are good :P

    • I usually fixate my time on a single game(unless I get bored of it) at a time, and only play a few hours per day max. The average length of most games is somewhere between 10-15 hrs, so I can practically finish a game every couple of days. However, epic open-world titles such as Fallout or Oblivion are massive time hogs and I have easily clocked up over 50+ hrs in each of these. Although I'm not that methodical about progressing through my gaming collection as I sound. I just like to engage myself with one particular title and see it through the end.

  • Mines packed! :D YAY! Ordered on the 15th

    • +1

Mine still says "Packed" but I ordered on the 7th..

    • Also ordered on 15th…and still pending. -_-"

  • +1

Mine said 'packed' two business days ago and i just received the parcel then (Although it was delivered to my neighbor, not me)

    • +2

Gee that's a pretty poor effort from the courier. Surely they should have checked for identity.

      Mines still pending. SIGH.

      • Agreed. Done through 'Couriers please'. Never had them before, must be a real cheap option for Game

  • What stores are remain open atm? (Sydney area)

    • +1

Liverpool - confirmed. Haven't been to any others lately.

      • thanks, was wondering if parra was still open too

  • Order came today via Couriers Please.

  • +3

Just got a response from Customer service on why it's taking so long!

We have received thousands of orders since the sale went up so we will do our best to process your order soon. We ask for your patience with this order due to the abundance of orders we have received.

PO BOX customers take a bit longer as they have to be done with the administrators direct.

    • Don't be surprised if your order gets cancelled due to stock shortages :P

  • +1

Shame I didn't know about PO box delay earlier as would have used a street addy. Never mind.

  • Got my 2 orders so far inc Batman Arkham Collectors Edition :)

Still waiting on one more order

  • Received today thanks op

  • got my order today. no online pass for battlefield 3 :( not relaly surprised though. also, all those stickers on the boxes are annoying T_T

  • Got mine not long ago :)

  • +1

Went into parra game today, loads of shit games left lol. The sale associate said Further markdowns will be done in order to clear stock.

    • +1

Further markdowns you say? I got a tip-off from one of the staff members that the 60% discount was absolutely final and that left over stock would be purchased up and collected by their liquidators. But it sure makes more sense and is better economics to just get it out the door and clear it out for whatever it is worth rather than the logistics and warehousing costs involved with packing it up and selling it elsewhere. Regardless I have all the games I wanted but if they have some crazy $1-2 bargains of leftover xbox games then I will bring my wheelbarrow lol.

      • No offence to the sales people at all, but they wouldn't have a clue to what is going to happen next. The best financial option for them would be to liquidate the lot together.

      • yeah, i heard that left over stock would be bought out by buyers. Well at parra the guy was marking games/accessories down. Wwe 12 was down to $19. well, i think they would do one more clearance sale before they officially shut down. Just my two cents!
