So good barista soy milk is also cheaper alternative that's close to this taste.

    • +2

A quick glance, So Good has added oils in list of ingredients. I gather Bonsoy doesn't

      • +9

It has tapioca syrup and other things.

Interestingly bonsoy has 14 percent real soybeans vs So good which is 3 percent soy fibre

Kinda goes to show that not everything is similar and if you race to the bottom for price you'll get a bad product.

        • You get what you pay for

          • +3

@wouldyou: Yep but a lot of the time people will see "Soy Milk" for $4 and $2 and go for the $2 one, not really thinking that the reasons why it's cheaper might be worth paying attention to.

This is the same as "Avocado dip" that's $2 and is 90% creme fraiche

        • +1

Coles organic has 15% for $1.60.

    • I've found So Good Barista Soy the second closest tasting to Bonsoy. Soyboy is the closest but costs even more than Bonsoy. I tend to get So Good if Bonsoy isn't on sale though

  • +3

    Thanks.
For anyone else $21.99 everyday at Costco.

    • do they have almond milk bonsoy?

      • Not at Epping warehouse

  • max 4 purchase

    • I bought 6 last week and 6 today in same order using S&S as soon as deal was posted. Maybe they reduced it down to 4 shortly after my order tonight

      • I just ordered 6 S&S. It won't let me buy more now though, whether it's S&S or buy now

  • +5

Why can't these have a resealable cap already!

    • +5

The company's justification is that they don't need to have single use plastics on their packaging, which is a good enough reason for me tbh.

I bought a glass jug to keep my Bonsoy in.

      • +1

It's not like the cartoon is recyclable in all areas though so it's kinda moot =\

      • +3

That sounds like a cop out tbh

      • +1

A bit rich when the item is shipped from Japan. Kinda defeats the point and purpose of their single use plastic thing then.

      • +1

Wait. Y’all reseal your Bonsoy cartons?! I just leave my mine as is after cutting it open & pop it in the fridge o_O

  • I've been using their almond milk for some time now and find it so much better. Don't have a weird film taste in my mouth after I drink my coffee. Also, it froths so much better and doesn't curdle / separate when mixed with the coffee

  • +2

I haven't been able to look at Bonsoy the same way since this occurred:
    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-11-24/bonsoy-iodine-victims…

How has the company tracked since?

    • Hollllllly moly. Never even heard of this. How do they even have a following anymore at cafes and all that after this?

I just started using them at home and it's really good compared to other soy milks for coffee

      • +2

8/10 times it's been posted within the comments section of bonsoy deals.

The upside is that it's now ultra cautious given the news story from 8 years ago.

  • Won't let me purchase "We're sorry. This item is not purchasable now. We suggest you to remove it."

    Any idea?

    • Not sure sorry, it's working okay here. Tested just now:

is it for this product only or I could have any subscribe and save eligible product subscription and then i would get free delivery?

    • +1

It should be anything, but it has been some time since I have tested it. Basically if you have 1 active subscribe & save, then additional subscribe & save purchases will also have free delivery (without prime). It still seems to indicate that on the Amazon page:

Each scheduled shipment is free. If you want your first shipment sooner, you can either meet the minimum spend or pay the usual fee.

Great for the ladies, maybe… but not so good for male men. Real milk for them !!!

    • +1

By real milk do you mean human breast milk?

      • No, unless your feeling woke. Real Cow milk, not some seed / plant oil milk substitute as they promote, which is a heavily processed product.
Its really like saying fake gold is as good as the real thing, but I suppose in this day people like being conned !!

        • +1

A lot of people are lactose intolerant mate.

And yeah because cow milk is a completely unprocessed product haha

          • @coffeeinmyveins: Yes, heated and cooled, they call it pasteurisation. The ingredients in my cow milk is … Wait for it ..Cow milk !
Now my clearly learned friend, for all the other readers benefit, would you like to list the ingredients and processes used to make these veggie / seed milks, I imagine not, but if you do, lets all enjoy a good laugh !!!
( Oh yes, for your information, lactose is a sugar, and lactose free anything has another '-tose sugar variety instead - go check it out ) big hugs !!

Ok, I've done the work for you. I've listed almond milk product ingredients first, I did a search for a typical product. Soy milk products are similar according to the information panel I read, plus and minus a few ingredients, but some with added sugars…
Its - Almond or soy milk with filtered water, plus and minus varios ingredients…tricalcium phosphate, salt, gellam gum, dipotassium phosphate, xantham gum, sunflower lecithin, vitamin A palmite, vit D2, D-Alpha dicopherol, vit E.
Wow, well your right, that really is a natural product indeed… And probably no processing at all.
Im severely impressed with your knowledge and and understanding of fake information.
