i wouldn't think so either, but it is.
i tested in real world situation. i own both brand new. i started with the dell 180w and it doesn't work. switch to hp dock works. went back to the dell doesn't work. switched back to hp works. everything is the same, and i put them in the same way.

doubt if you like, but just trying to save people $400 and having to buy another one. works fine without a mic or headset, but if you have to be in meetings, forget about it.

this is my own real world experience, not looking at specs, but using in real world applications which i find more valid than seeing numbers on paper.

        • They had that issue with the Lenovo docks at Work, where the USB headset doesn't work through the dock. Forget what the windows setting of fix was, but probably easier to get a 3.5mm headset or plug it in to the laptop.

If anyone wants to save some money and doesn't mind refurbished, I got these for my office and haven't had any complaints yet, dual display etc.

Dell D6000 uses DisplayLink software for video output. That is very different to WD22TB4 and WD19TB. Plenty of information on the net as to why DisplayLink is inferior. But, DisplayLink is good enough for some people.

      Dell D6000 maxes out at USB 3.1 Gen1. WD22TB4 has USB 3.2 Gen 2.

There is a good reason for WD22TB4 being more expensive than D6000.

I like how their website has "What we like" and "What we don't" sections. Seems human and honest

This is standard pricing at most outlets. Not a sale at all.

  • Funny… they all show the WD19DC picture, but sell you the low wattage version for more :)

Good luck driving 2 4K displays and your notebook on that.

    The 240w version better.

Hi G-rig, the photo is a stock photo of all Thunderbolt docks.

The 22TB4 has a 180w power adapter. The DCS has higher power throughput but needs two cables.

We just tested a Macbook pro (2021) this morning with the dock and two external monitors running.

Works well even whilst using the laptop screen too.

      • Ok cool

      • Is it getting 60Hz on both external displays on mac? These Dell TB docks have been notoriously difficult to get 4k@60Hz reliably ie every time you plug in. In many cases it works, but one display will be 60Hz while the other is 30Hz. This happens on both windows and MacOS, and also happens on Dell laptops.

If anyone wants to come to Camperdown and test your laptop with the dock with 1-3 external monitors, please email us: [email protected]

We have just tested the dock with a Dell XPS 13 9310 with 3x 4K Displays and it works. We have also tested 3x 4K + 1 1080 Display and that also works.

    • This is really good of you to do, rep! And pretty impressive that the dock can support that combo.

There were a few questions about this above, and I'm interested as well: Can you test a 4K/UW @ 120/144Hz and another 4K@60Hz? Then as a stretch goal, add a third 4K@60Hz and see whether everything falls over?

  • I've got a WD19S, could you sell me the TB4 module at a decent price?

    • Hi cydia9k, absolutely, we have another couple of customers requesting the same thing. We are just in the process of confirming pricing and stock of it.

Just to confirm this is the product you are referring to: Dell Thunderbolt Dock - WD22TB4 Module

      • Correct, that's the one I'm after. Not in urgent need, happy to wait for the right price 😊

  • @RonaRigs are these refurbs? I bought one of yours through your Bay Store and its definitely in secondhand condition.

Thanks for the courtesy call this morning Jay from @RonaRigs. Good customer service is becoming a rarity.

For everyone else's benefit, the dock is brand new Australian stock which potentially had a quality assurance check (by Dell). I verified the authenticity of the device on the Dell website and it definitely has a full 3 year warranty. I did some tests last night and didn't identify any concerns

        • Hi RoweDizzle, thank you for updating. Enjoy the dock.

  • Hi, what is the warranty on the dock?

    • +1

Hi SimmoAus05, 3 year warranty with advanced exchange service from Dell.

      • Thanks @RonaRigs, great comms (via email) and I have purchased a unit.

        • Hi SimmoAus05, thank you for your order.

  • Thank you to everyone that ordered, most docks should be with you or on its way to you by now.

This offer ends today around 12pm and our pricing on the website will be updated shortly after that.

If anyone has issues getting the dock to work please email us [email protected] and we can troubleshoot with you.
