  • Does it have Aus Servers?

    • +3

Almost 2 in each capital city, 2 in melb 2 in syd 2 in perth 2 in adelaide 2 in brisbane and 1 in canberra

I am looking at this from my Windscribe Pro, got the lifetime license in 2017 I believe.

    • +4

Yes, but you need a subscription to use them. The free server locations are:
      United States
      Canada
      United Kingdom
      Hong Kong
      France
      Germany
      Netherlands
      Switzerland
      Norway
      Romania

Ah ok, so it's pointless then.

      • I’ve noticed (since activating that 50GB free deal from a few years ago) that their number of free servers is atrocious compared to what it used to be.

Come on, we all know we need VPNs to:
        Argentina
        Turkey
        India
        Philippines
        and maybe Japan and Korea

Yes but $2 a month. Can pay just per month instead of whole year upfront

This code is for Iran as their govt has banned internet due to their on going protest. I would recommend not exploiting it.

    • +2

      Indeed.

    • +10

Yeah it’s real shitty if you take advantage of this when it’s specifically for those trying to get information in a shitty regime.

    • +2

If you have no internet then a VPN is no use to you. Besides, I'm still Belarusian (in spirit) from the last deal where we got 50GB/mo.

If they really wanted to help a specific cause, rather than a limited amount of data for life, they should be giving an unlimited amount of data during whatever crisis is happening.

      This code is for Iran

      Also for Persia.

  • Didn’t work for my applied code and it says 2gb only

    • -4

Try setting your VPN to Iran first? Lol.

  • Is this targetted? Tried to apply to existing account, and it said "You must confirm your email to claim this voucher".

    • +1

I had to delete my email on my account and insert again to confirm my email to claim the voucher

  • -2

This use to cost, I guess they’re now using our data to earn money? Zero privacy?

    • They gave out even more for free in 2017

  • Gone are the days of free 50GB monthly.

  • Free VPN, Sounds safer then getting hit by a bus.

    • +1

      Or walking under a train…

  • Free VPN lol.
You are the product here. I wouldn't expect decent privacy with this 'deal'
Just use Mullvad or roll your own wireguard on a dedi or vps.

    • how do?

    • +1

I use windscribe and it allows bypassing the restrictions. We only live with a false sense of privacy in this age

    • Dude, If someone can understand your last sentence, they don't need this deal. People who can't understand that sentence may be able to watch some netflix etc from this deal.

I don't see a problem about you being a product. We are collectively the product for ozbargain; Are we not??

It's fine to use others for your benefit.

  • Gone the days we had any privacy.
One way or another someone/entity knows what you are up to regardless how cautious you are to protect your privacy.

No one will ever know about my dancers foot fetish.

      • +4

        Tulips, my secret shame.

    • One way, or another, their gonna get ya.

  • +2

If it’s true that this is for Iranians. This deal should either be removed or made clear.

Stay away from it. Don’t be shitty. Leave it for those that need it.

    • +1

Surely there is no limit. Its a virtual thing so not sure why its a big deal

And no i already have 60 GB account

    • +1

My bad as I posted this without understanding the reason behind it.

I have requested the mods to remove the post.

  • Ahhhh free, got to love the sale of your information to offer, free!

  • lol. cia raised iran colour revolution deal in another anti us region ?

  • -1

it's so slow how do yall use it?

    • +1

Think you would need to buy one even if not Windscribe, then something else, to unlock regions closer to you if you are concerned about latency or bandwidth.

I am on the Windsribe Pro and just have it on always, on my phone and PC, response time and transfer are close to what I have without it turned on. I am based in Melb and connected to their South Melb server.

Otherwise, wait for one of these
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/720509
But VPN unlimited seems very lacking compared to Windscribe, mostly 1 server in each country.

  • I thought Windscribe was a VPN people typically recommended. Why so many comments complaining about breach of privacy over a free trial?

    • Probably because they don't know what they're talking about

  • is there a catch?

    • +1

You feel a little bad for using a code not meant for people outside Iran.

      • +1

using a code not meant for people outside Iran.

Just use a VPN to get this deal, then they will never know.

  • +1

Although i'm not in support of exploiting a deal that is designed for people in Iran given everything that's going on there.

I was fortunate enough and took the gamble to pay for a lifetime pro subscription for windscribe about 5 years ago. Can proudly say i still use the subscription to this day and have definitely gotten my money's worth out of it.

For anybody interested in getting windscribe (either free or paid for), i can personally vouch that the speeds are decent (probably not the best, but in the mid to high end of the pack). It simply works, and has plenty of versatility; Has install's/apps for nearly every device or browser, and worste case there is always an option to use openvpn with windscribe login details.

It's not my first VPN i've used, but easily my favourite.

    • I still kick myself for not jumping on that life time deal.

      • You and me both

        • same as you both. at the time, the speeds were not great and i had concerns that they wouldnt last. at least i still have a free 60GB account.

  • How do I check my current monthly quota.

  • VPN or smart DNS proxy?

  • Need one to use streaming services from
    India ,

  • This is not a deal but them trying to do something about the situation in Iran

  • "Voucher provided is invalid". Maybe it's expired now?

  • I also don't think it's a good idea to take this deal given it's for Iran. Each to their own.
