  • Not too bad. Great cheap access for my grandma

  • redbull was great, 2 months for $10 …

  • nice deal thanks OP

  • God not yet another marketing company with their snout in the trough. How many is there now?
    Popping up like mushrooms. This one declares itself, 'sure deal'. {Oh yeah… good…}

The way even small reseller providers are now distancing themselves from customers makes me wanna puke. :(
It will inevitably mean elevated costs.

  • -edit- double post.

Hi daver - thanks for your valid comments.

While I very much appreciate your concern about companies distancing themselves from customers these cheap group buying unlimited mobile deals can also benefit savvy users - with a little effort.

For example - I use two mobiles - one is a permanent $1 per month incoming number with TPG. So $12 a year - that people contact me on.

The other is a smartphone which I use each month or each 60 days with these $10 a month unlimited deals.

So yes that phone gets a new outgoing number once a month - or I port the existing number from company to company.

End result is that my annual unlimited calls total mobile costs is about $132 a year.

So I say keep these deals going.

Bring on more companies and deals like this.

In any case a mobile service now is just a commodity like milk - to be consumed and discarded at will.

Let the companies keep dancing attract our business.

Never sign an ongoing mobile contract and always retain your full guillotine powers over the mobile companies to force them to always keep fighting for our business.

So in this situation as long as I get the service I pay for I simply don't care about the "relationship" with the company.

If they don't perform and deliver they get the chop. There's always a better deal - just watch OzBargain.

Not too bad deal, not as cheap as the Redbulls offer but in terms of network quality, Optus is still way better than Voda in most areas (SYD Metro).

Did find one tricky thing though when reading the T&Cs " Credit/debit card details must be supplied upon redemption of offer". Amaysim doesn't force you to supply your CC details. Surely you can always dispute if there is something you don't agree with but normally if it's less than $10, you may give it up.While the very reason you go to those deals is to save those bits here and there so it's quite annoying in the end. Just make sure you are comfortable with this requirement. Personally I will be very wary about giving CC details in this way.

  • I get really put off by these companies that offer upfront special deal then slap you with not so worthwhile deal if you wish to continue.

I suppose if you really love the service after 2 months you'll just stick with them.

I'm with Live Connected which is good enough for me. I don't really need good customer service cos nothing ever goes wrong. Plus it's efficient sending an email to the resolution center rather than waste time talking to a person who doesn't really speak English that well anyway.

My only upfront was $20 for a Sim.
$16 per month gets me $450 calls to anybody, including 1300 and 13 numbers
1 GB data. Plenty cos I use wifi when i'm at home.
    No contracts.
    Good coverage (Optus)

I started initially on a very cheap plan, but soon upgraded cos i needed extra call credit. Cost me to change, but the cost was worth it. Still of course better to get it right the first time.

I've been burnt way too many times (cough '3') in the past with crap phone plans. Live connected is a winner for me.

They're just doing what businesses do. Nobody's making you sign up for the honeymoon offer or hypnotising you into forgetting to cancel. But a lot of people here don't care about having a stable provider for a secondary number so they make the most of these specials by jumping from offer to offer. They are just doing what OzBargainers do. :)

    • I am also with LiveConnected, $20 upfront for SIM.

$14.99 per month gets me $650 calls to anybody, $900 calls to live connected users, 6000 included text, 2gb data.

Haven't seen a better deal yet. Have been with them since last September and haven't encountered any issues. Optus coverage is fantastic compared to Vodafone whom I was with previously.

Lily you should really switch to the new $11.99/month plan as it gives you $500 talk/text to anyone, $500 talk to liveconnected, 1.5gb data.

      • Yeh! I need to switch!

I also need a micro sim ($20) and it's going to cost me $16 to downgrade my plan to the cheaper one.

They are so dodge. I emailed CS to ask if there was any exception that can be made because I will take my business else where…but i'm not expecting much. Sux

        • Charging for a "downgrade" sucksss :( Might be better value to just stay with what you have for now since you lose the savings in the fees.

  • Waiting for the 1 year $99 Special with all the goodies

  • Can I use the mircrosim in an iPad for the data component?

  • Hi guys this deal has been extended until June 25.
