  • Annual Fees?? What Annual Fees?? We shouldn't need to pay for annual fees for credit cards these days, especially when banks trying to lock in our credits.
I'd call it a bargain if the annual fee's waived!~

    • What if you join and spend a bit and then threaten to go to another company unless they drop the fee.

That usually works with every other bank/etc.

  • As I stated, Not suitable for everyone, but if you spend a lot on fuel, then this offer may be for you.

  • Should've negotiated harder to waive the annual fees…It's not like Citibank haven't done it before - waiving annual fees for their BP credit card for the first year..~

    • The offer was emailed to me and I am passing it on, sorry I cannot help with negotiations.

  • Steer clear from anything to do with Citibank! Been bitten by their dodgy shoddy practices.

  • I've had the bp mastercard for over 1 year, all been good and super generous cashback, much better than any reward point systems. annual fee $79 but if you are a frequent card swiper, you'll get it back in no time.

    • According to my rough calculations:
Fuel ~$1.40/L — hence a 10% discount is $0.14/L (for the first six months)
      Annual fee is $79
Hence if you use ~21.7L of fuel every week for the first six months, you break even on the annual fee.
The major catch for me is that you have to use BP! (no woolies/coles coupons there)

      • You get 5% off petrol after the 6 months. That equates to about 7 cents off at $1.40. You also get 1% off everything thing else so even if don't buy petrol at BP you can still get your annual fee back when you spend $7,900. $7,900 sounds a lot but I know I spend much more than that and that's only on essential day-to-day stuff.

        • Isn't BP petrol priced 1-2 cents more than Shell/Caltex prices?

      • The places where I get my car serviced (more than one) - both recommend BP over the others anyway.

        Better fuel ;) hehe.

  • Just for a comparison,
BP works well if you drive and spend.

The 10% probably works out even better then the one listed.
