Edit: Spoke to Citi live chat, they state the hard requirement of income has been removed. I was told I would still be eligible for the points despite currently holding a Citi rewards card. Looks like they've removed the one promo a year cap for this card, YMMV of course.

This card is the best. Travelling to Thailand today, spent $140 at OOL at two separate outlets with my guest, then a lounge visit at Singapore and another at BKK. Flying LCC and have spent $0 on food or beverage today on the ground or on board

Apologies for the noob question, is the minimum income for this card still 150k?

      • Or search for salary

  • Has anyone tried using the 4th night free via Expedia (I think?) via cashrewards/shopback?

    • while i don't have the card i'm pretty sure from my research that it is done via the Concierge and you can check availability via hotels.com first

    • +2

I called Concierge (+61 2 7907 0814) and they made the booking on my behalf. The confirmation email was sent from Expedia so you can use that to check pricing and availability.

I recommend emailing them first with your booking details ([email protected]) and giving them the Case ID, as it still takes a while for them to confirm everything verbally over the phone.

      • Thank you. I noticed the prices on Expedia are higher than others. Some hotels are even cheaper in other sites even without the 4th night free especially when you take into account the foreign exchange/international fees. Someone mentioned here that concierge can get the member discount of 10% if that is available for the hotel you want to book so wondering if there's a way for concierge to price match whilst booking or can they apply promo code if we have a promo code we want to apply?

  • Tried to add this card to Google Pay and it said this bank does not support it. So is this website nonsense? https://www1.citibank.com.au/googlepayfaqs

    • I've added it to Google Wallet/Pay.

  • I also just noticed it now says 10k spend

    300,000 bonus Citi reward Points
when you spend $10,000 on eligible purchases within 90 days from approval.1

    • Doesn't matter at all as long as payall counts towards the spending.

    • Deal also valid until 31 May 2023 now.

    • +1

It was 60 days before, now with 90 days it's actually less spend per month.

  • My credit score went up 8 points after I got approved for this card lol

  • Can someone please advise me where I go to transfer my Citi points to one of the Airlines. Do I need to do it on the website or can I do it on the app?

  • Another question. Does anyone know how long it takes for citi points to arrive in Qatar privileges account ?

    • can't help with Qatar but transferred to Kris a couple months ago and took at least a week maybe 7-9 days

      • A week, yikes !
        Thanks for letting me know.

    • +1

I transferred Citi to Kris 3pm, arrived 11am next day

      • Transferred on the 28th, just looked at my Krisflyer statement and it shows as arriving on 27th so must be quick at the moment. Was definitely a week last time.

  • Is this a good card to do general spending on? Seems like it only attracts 0.5 Velocity points per dollar which is low. Do I have that right?

    • I think seems about the range for a non-Amex card that allows a flexible regards program.

An Amex is your best bet for a good earning general spend card, with a card like the Coles MasterCard as a backup (which earns 1 Velocity point/$). I think the St George card earns equivalent to ~0.75 Velocity points/$ with some flexibility to the rewards programs you can transfer to (though at different rates). NAB and CBA have cards that are around the 0.625 Velocity points/$, again with some flexibility.

    • Did you see the point earning levels on the product page? It depends how you use this card.
0.5 Velocity points/$ is at the lowest (all other spend). You can get 1 velocity point/$ at most domestic retailers and 1.5 velocity points/$ on international spend or airlines, hotels etc.

Interestingly, for this card I've found some domestic retailers (both in person and online) actually give the full 1.5 velocity points/$. Shopback is one example which is good for buying gift cards from anyway.

Is there a section in the rewards page when logging into citi account online that shows how many points were accured for each spend ? eg. $1 spend at coles shows 2 rewards points.
I can see on my monthly statement the points earned this statement period, and the bonus points (which is all points above $1/point).
I'm trying to confirm if my $5 beemit to bpay HCF did earn points. I'm assuming it did.

    • On the "Rewards Home" page click on "Redeem Now" under Citi Rewards to be taken to the Rewards site.
Then in the top right drop down click on "My points summary"

Unfortunately it still sucks here because it doesn't show which transaction they are, you just need to match up the dates and amounts (It will also combine the same types).
Tip: "Bonus" means the transaction was 3 or 2 points per dollar. "Earned" means it's only 1 point per dollar.

For beemit I've found they usually earn 1 point per dollar. Not sure if you can ever get the full 3 points.
