      • Hey, can you please elaborate on the 20k payall payment a bit more please?

  • I just went onto Citi Online to cancel my card via live chat but the customer service officer - Rich is refusing the refund of any of the $350 pro-rated annual fee.

Any tips? I have only had it for a month or so and met the criteria.

Just got approved, applied on Thursday. Got the email which says its a 2% fee on all citi payall transactions. Is this correct? I thought payall has no fee until October 31st? cheers

    • +5

For some unknown reasons, they couldn't update the standard email. But they did on web

    • Did you not receive a variation notice?
I have got one. It says extended to 31/10/2023
Not sure how to upload the photo here

      • Thanks yeah, got the card and variation notice confirms 0% payall fee until 31 Oct.

  • Are any benefits lost if I apply for the card now over if I applied last year?

    • +1

      No, all still there

  • Hey guys I have a problem whereby my google play store is set to turkey and cant be changed back atm, must be because I changed my google payment profile in November to get netflix turkey and google cloud storage. Issue is the citi au app wont open now and cant be re-downloaded from google play. Therefore I cant setup citi pay all payment cause for some reason this can only be done in the app. Will just have to setup citi au app on another device i reckon..

  • Is Citi Payall feature down at the moment? Doesn't seem to load.

  • How long did everyone's application take to get approved/declined?

    • +1

I applied last Monday night, and got approved 1pm the next day.

    • +1

Applied last thursday and still no update.

      • Same with me

        • Have you tried calling them? Had to call twice to see where the application is at and both times they ask for more info. If I was waiting for update from them, it will take longer.

          • @1bargain: Yes two calls so far

          • @1bargain: How did they notify you of approval? SMS or email?

            • @arcticmonkey: Hi, did they get back to you? They sms first and have been sending lots of emails about the account.
Can’t wait to start earning the points. Hope Payall is easy to set up and maintain each month.

              • @1bargain: Got a call to ask why I applied as I cancelled another Citi card two weeks ago. I said due to the features but nothing else yet.

                • +1

@arcticmonkey: Hope you can get it though

                  • +1

@1bargain: Got approved yesterday so around 10 days since application.

                    • @arcticmonkey: Strange that some get in one day. You 10 days and many calls. Maybe self employed?

                      • @1bargain: I already have a Citi Premier and a CommBank ultimate and got approved for this card in 3 days without any questions

                        • @Nuggets: Awesome! Maybe being with Citi Premier helped?

                          • +1

@1bargain: Perhaps although I have seen someone else received a phone call from Citi asking why they wanted another card from the same bank. Lol

@1bargain: Naah. I've premier and applied back in Oct got rejected. Applied again in Jan and got approved.

@maverick1: i also applied for this in oct and was auto rejected, applied now and was auto approved.

    • Got approved but email doesnt say anything about the bonus points though.

      • Approved today and also no mention of bonus points

    • Applied last night, approved < 12 hours later.

  • I've had the card for a bit under 1 month. I've got about 53K points on www.citirewards.com

How the hell is that possible, we have spent about $17K , most if that being flights. There is now way each transaction yielded 3:1.

Was there some promo or something.(excluding the 300K which should appear after my first statement)

    • You earn 3 points on eligible transactions with major airlines and hotels, one of many benefits of the card.

      • Yep, I read the rates before I posted, the maths don't add up.

        Even $17K x 3 doesn't = 53K, and 17K was on the high side.

hmm, lets see it might adjust itself

  • How many points do we get from beem it if we pay the ATO using this prestige card? I assume 1 point per dollar?

    • +1

      Yep. Paid recently got 1pt/$.

      • Isn't ATO considered govt payments and therefore no points as per their T&Cs?

If ATO payment attracts points, that also means council rates, car rego…etc all attracts points as well?

        • Not if paying via Beem it app.

  • Applied over a week ago. Got a call today from the assessor asking for my reason for cancelling a Citi card two weeks ago and applying for this one

I said for the benefits for this card but I felt it was a strange question

  • I’m in the midst of re-financing a mortgage so it’s best I don’t apply for any credit cards before then. As I might not make it in time by the end of the month, this deal will have expired.

Does anyone know how often a deal like this comes around?

Have been contemplating just yolo’ing and applying for it regardless.

    • How much is the refinance going to save you?

    • If you think you can get this card, make the required spending, get the bonus points and close it before reference then do it.

    • how did you go? I just refinanced but I think both my lenders will show up on my credit report so not worth the hit from citi

      • If one refinanced which mean you swapped your mortgage to a different lender. So all the credit card lender will see bank A replaced for bank B wouldn't it?

        • It takes time to update. I've been caught with this before. My report was showing 2x loan amount but was updated a week after.

  • With regards to the 4th night free, there appears to be a clause that states: " Between each booking, a minimum of a 7-day window is required"

Does this mean we cannot book in different cities back to back? Ie. 4 nights melb and then 4 nights sydney straight after?

Or does it just mean that if I make my Melb booking today, I have to wait 7 days before I can make my Syd booking? Reason I ask is that it goes to some pain explaining that you can't back to back in the same city - which would be a moot point anyway if you can't do bookings within 7 days of each other.

      • " Between each booking, a minimum of a 7-day window is required"*
Does this mean we cannot book in different cities back to back? Ie. 4 nights melb and then 4 nights sydney straight after?

Thats how I would interpret it. I would think this clause is in place to stop people booking hotel A for 3+1 nights and hotel B for 3+1 nights, hotel C for 3+1 over a two week period. Maxamising the use over a shortest period possible.

I suspect if the clause was per hotel, i.e. you can't book the same hotel within a 7 days window that would be fine, but I guess people would just book hotel A for 3+1 and hotel B which is down the road for 3+1, etc

      • Frustrating - have a 3 week trip planned next year and was going to use this!

  • Applied at 930am yesterday and suprisingly got approved 30mins later after proving the usual pay slips and bank statements.

  • Has anyone recently transferred Prestige points to Kris or Virgin or both? How long is it taking for the points to show up in your FF account?

    • transferred from my Premier card to Kris flyer a few weeks ago, took longer than i thought maybe almost 1 week. I requested on a Sat or Sun from memory.

      • Yup, I did some to Velocity and some to Kris, Velocity was pretty quick, 1-2 days. Kris took a week.

        • Are you able to confirm what the conversion rate to both Kris and Velocity were? Seeing different things from different sources

          • @wqepoi: KrisFlyer 2.5:1
            Velocity 2:1
            Qatar Avios 3:1
            Flybuys 1:1
            Etihad Guest 3:1
            Cathay Asia Miles 2.5:1

      • Hey, do you know what the conversion rate is to Kris Flyer?

  • is it possible to change this card to earning qantas points after getting the 300k citi points? 20k qantas point per month on payall is more attractive than 20k citi points

    • +1

      It's not 20k Qantas points it's 10k.

      • their wording is pretty confusing, but reading it again i suspect you're right

I have a Citi Premier and it's definitely 0.5 points. You essentially earn krisflyer at the same rate as Qantas points as 1 Citi point is 0.5 krisflyer points.

Krisflyer and Qantas points are valued equally by pointhacks but imo krisflyer are more scarce in Australia so they are a great choice here.

          • @Nuggets: My mistake, Krisflyer transfers at 2.5:1. For me personally though it's still the better choice.

  • Anyone find their points system a bit misleading?

Recently purchased from Officeworks as a "National retailer", only received 1 point per $1 spend.

"on Eligible Transactions¥ made directly with major: supermarkets, petrol outlets and national retailers" 2 points per $1

  • Interesting, the promo still active today.

  • This offer is valid until 31 January 2023. Post this advertised date; we reserve the right to continue, withdraw or change the offer at any time without notice.

  • +1

Citi chat advised offer is still valid so put an application in.

    • +1

Wish they would update T&C with the extended date, there's a level of uncertainty when relying on citi chat for something like this.

    • Yeah i called support and they said offer has been extended till 15th Feb, 2023.

  • -1

Does anyone know how much 300k citi reward points converts to for a/ Kris and b/ Velocity?

My understanding is 100k Kris (3:1) and 120k Velocity (2.5:1) - but Pointshack article is saying different
    https://www.pointhacks.com.au/credit-cards/citibank-prestige…

    • +1

I'm seeing 2.5 Points = 1 KrisFlyer Miles and 2 Points = 1 Velocity Points with the Prestige card. Before logging in, it does say 3:1 and 2.5:1.

    • +2

Kris (3:1) and Velocity (2.5:1) are for the lower tier Rewards card. Premier and Prestige have better rates at 2.5:1 and 2:1
Refer to this spreadsheet for how much 300k points is worth

Am I right in saying you can have a 20k limit, transfer out to BSB and put into a high-interest savings account for the month, transfer back in and pay off the card before interest-free period is complete and gain the points for the PayAll transfer, the interest on the HISA and instantly knock over the 7.5k in 90 day spend requirement….? Wtf

    • You’re not wrong

    • +3

it's fantastic, park the cash in your offset each month, rinse and repeat — collect 240k points pa for premium econ east coast to singapore and free taxi ride to the airport. book a long weekend and get 4th night on the house, good times

      • -2

Note, you'll pay $700 AF on 2nd year.

    • Wow that's crazy. I just applied for 20k limit - now I'm thinking I should have gone max?

  • Does anyone closing the account know how long after is the priority pass closed?

    • +1

Could be immediately to 24hr. I would imagine Citibank would flag your account is closed and any transaction after that would be denied - except for payment transactions.

  • -5

Does anyone know if you overpay your tax to the ATO, will they refund back into the same credit card? Hence won't be counted towards the $7,500 spend?

    • Surely you’re not doing that deliberately?

      • -3

What do you mean. I can't be bothered buying a bunch of gift cards to use later. Maybe I can just overpay them and let it sit in the account until next financial year rofl. The laziness in me

        • +2

Just do a PayAll to yourself, it counts towards the $7500 spend.

  • +1

Applied today after chatting with the Citi call centre who confirmed that the offer has been extended to Feb 15th with the same criteria (someone else mentioned this before as well - thank you!)
