  • I’m sure I saw one on special for $99 n the weekend but now I’m doubting myself

    • +1

$99 150GB is for 6 months in current catalogue.

      • +7

        Thank you.
        Also ewww 6months

  • Could I buy this using wish gift cards?

    • +6

Yes. Stack with 10% off from Everyday Extra membership if you have.

      • +1

Last time I tried to buy a Belong SIM card at Woolies using gift cards, it didn’t go through, even the store manager couldn’t figure it out. We ended up guessing SIM cards are treated like gift cards, and so you can't use gift cards to buy them.

        • +1

Not sure if Belong is listed differently in the system as it's a postpaid plan. The gift cards have worked with amaysim and Lebara SIM cards which are prepaid plans.

        • Same. Last sim I bought I couldn't pay by gift card. It did use to work. Maybe they stopped it or only some go through.

          • @Webber000: Perhaps WW has changed the system recently. When was your last transaction and which brand? Thanks.

          • @Webber000: SIM card scans at $179 (not $175). You will need to ask staff to refund the difference. 2000 EDR points are given and will appear in your EDR app. Several members have confirmed they got 10% off with Everyday Extra membership and also paid with discounted gift cards.

      • Will it stack with the insurance discount?

      • Thank you!

  • -1

Are you sure you can use extra discount for a sim card?

    • +1

Yes confirmed in my Woolworths amaysim and Lebara SIM card posts.

      • Hello, sorry to ask this question and re-agitate the issue.

From the Everyday Extras FAQ page, it was advised that “The Extra Discount cannot be used for or on any smoking or tobacco products and accessories, liquor, gift cards (including iTunes), mobile recharge, Everyday Mobile, travel cards, tickets, cash outs, delivery charges (including Delivery Unlimited items), bag fees, donations, Carpet Care, lottery products, pre-order kiosks, purchases on a charge account, pre-orders, lay-by fees, remote and bulk orders or Everyday Market from Woolworths orders, any purchases made at the Everyday Rewards Shop and any purchases made at Ampol Woolworths Metro and MetroGo stores”

Does this amaysim starter pack count as an (excluded category) mobile recharge, or it is a different category due to being a starter pack as is eligible for the everyday extras 10% discount ?

        • I've posted several amaysim and Lebara prepaid starter pack offers from Woolworths.

OzBargainers have reported in the posts that they got 10% off with their Everyday Extra membership and paying with gift cards for the amaysim and Lebara starter packs. It may not work for other brands.

The amaysim SIM card is not a "mobile recharge" as it cannot be used as a recharge.

There hasn't been feedback from anyone purchasing now though.

        • @BigBTrain Update: SIM card scans at $179 (not $175). You will need to ask staff to refund the difference. 2000 EDR points are given and will appear in your EDR app. Several members have confirmed they got 10% off with Everyday Extra membership and also paid with discounted gift cards.

          • -1

@trixieb: Ah that's great, thank you. How would the $179 versus $175 difference be refunded if its after the 10% discount with Everyday Extra membership? - as the 10% is a scaled discount? - i.e.10% off $179 is $161.10 and 10% off $175 is $157.5

            • @BigBTrain: It's up to the staff in-store. If they can't do it, contact Woolworths online via live chat.

    • used it on Lebara cards in the past

    • Only doesn't work on Everyday Mobile

      • i can confirm this as well

    • Yes I can confirm the extras 10% discount can be used. The teller first said no but then got the option to use and i accepted. I also got the extra points for 3 cards. I also used woolies gift cards to pay for it.

  • +1

    What is the expiry date?
Don't think there is bonus data. Is there an activation date for 200GB?

    • +4

The amaysim SIM cards usually state "Activate SIM within 12 months of purchase".

      • Thanks. So if I buy now, I can activate later when my current Lebara is over?

        • Port into amaysim from Lebara. You can keep your number. Amaysim customer service (chat or call) is helpful if you have any issues.

  • Renewed my 180g plan for $150 last week after online chat. This deal is better but my previous plan expired on 10th.

    • Tried that last week with the wife's 12 month sim. They didn't budge.

Edit. Sorry that was the daughters sim with catch. Will try wife's this week.

      • I tried the online chat today and agent offered 15% discount on 180G plan first. I asked for 25% which comes down to $150 like zn7726 and she agreed. You could try asking 35% haha good luck!

  • How's this network around Perth? Only ever tried Telstra/Boost over here, would going from 5G to 4G hurt much?

    • Have been on Amaysim in Perth (as well as used in Bali + Vietnam + Malaysia).
I'm super happy and feel like it has been more reliable for coverage and speed than Optus.

      • Isn't it on the Optus network?

        • +1

If you use cashback, there is a TopCashback Boost offer posted here.

  • does anyone have the list of the international countries?

    • It's a different plan but probably the same 28 countries in this link.

  • "New services with compatible devices only"

I assume this doesn’t exclude me if I'm already on a different Amaysim plan? I would love to keep the same number

    • You would have to port out into a different provider eg $2 Telstra SIM. Then port back into amaysim and still keep the same number.

    • +1

I am going to chat with Amaysim customer care tomorrow to check if they can give the same plan to existing customers without porting out. I too want to keep my number and happy with the signal reception till now.

      • +1

How did it go? I just changed to amaysim with the 28 day $10 Sim plan at Woolworths and am hoping customer service could give me this without porting out.

      • I am going to chat with Amaysim customer care tomorrow to check…

        Please let us know.

  • Is this purely 4G only? Because i'm looking to get out of my current 365 Kogan 500GB plan which expires next month. Only used 56GB for almost 1 year, and i'm looking to get a different 365 day plan but has 5G instead since I realized I don't use much mobile data anyway, might as well get 5G connectivity.

    • Yes. Powered by Optus 4G Plus network.

    • My nanna used up more data than that

      • +2

Well all those uploads to OnlyGrans chews through it pretty quick.

      • I was surprised too but I guess it's because I don't go out much. And if I do it's just Spotify and a bit of social media here and there. Also I work from home so i'm always just on my home wifi haha

  • I was amaysim customer before.if I come back to amaysim ,will I class as new customer?

    • If you're not with amaysim now, you can port into this amaysim SIM (as a new customer) and keep your existing number.

  • +1

I just ported to Amaysim prepaid 28 days damn!! How do I get this offer on my existing sim? Do I have to port out again?
I was waiting for a boost deal or better just wait.

    • I was chatting with you in my TopCashback/Boost post.

Boost has Telstra 5G. This SIM plan does not have 5G. It is Optus 4G Plus. The amaysim 28-Day plan has Optus 5G.

If you're happy without 5G, then:

      • Use your current amaysim plan for 28 days.
      • Port out into a different provider eg $2 Telstra SIM.
      • Still keep your existing number.
      • Port back into this amaysim 365-Day SIM.
      • +1

Thank you so much mate. I’ll wait for Boost. It’s tried and tested. I just hope in the next 26 days I get a good offer for 365 day SIM with at least 120GB data.

        • +1

Boost 290GB $205 after cashback at TopCashback link here, if it suits.

  • -1

Can this one be converted to eSim?

    • +1

You can convert any amaysim plan to eSIM in app. You can even activate this to eSIM immediately without even put the physical sim into phone.

      • This is on the website:

        eSIM ready
Dial *#06# to quickly see if your phone is eSIM compatible.

If it is, a 32-digit EID number will display on your screen.

  • When will we get 5G sims? It's been (profanity) 6 years, and we still don't have 5G by default. 4G came out in 2011, and by 2016, 4G was the standard.

    • +1

You would have to go Telstra or Boost as they charge more but provide 5G for all their SIM plans.

      • -1

I'm not gonna pay an extra $100, just to see that 5G badge on my phone. i don't care about the speed difference, which I won't notice.

      • Why would you pay more for something that benifits the carrier?

      • +2

        Vodafone prepaid do 5G also.

  • What's the benefit of Amaysim Optus 4G Plus vs Kogan Mobile 365 Day Flex which is on Vodaphone network?

4G: From what I understand they are both 4G. Equal.
Speed: Kogan is uncapped. Amaysim is limited to 100mbps. Win Kogan?
Coverage: Kogan has Vodaphone whilst Amaysim is Optus. Win Amaysim?
Data: Kogan has $189 for 500gb or $159 for 300gb. Amaysim is 200gb at $175 or $157.50. Either way it's a lose to Amaysim.

So overall I think Kogan wins - and I must admit I haven't had any issue with them while living here in Melbourne CBD. So what's the reason to swap to Amaysim?

    • Another difference is with Kogan you don't get any international calls

  • +1

Does this allow to receive text msg from Australia when I am overseas?

    • +1

      Yes

    • Yup, just make sure international roaming is on via the app. As it's a prepaid plan, there aren't any further charges.

      • +1

Data roaming can be off, it is not required to receive a text msg from Aus.
I have been with Amaysim for years, and I always have my roaming off when I travel.
I am not aware of any other carrier that offers this free text receive feature when travelling, which is excellent. (There may be some others, I don't know of them 😝.)

        • Weird, mine was off on the overseas trip the one before last and didn't receive any texts. Chatted to Amaysim support and they said to do this which worked on our trip in May.
          As long as it works!!

        • You need to turn on data roaming so that you can connect to a local telco (that allowed Optus/Telstra/Vodafone to roam on their network). From then onward, you can enable to use that as Data and/or call depend on your plan.

By default, you should be able to receive SMS from Australia even not purchase any extra roaming cost.

          • @timhn: In my experience, data roaming is not required to connect to a local network when out of Australia.

I received SMS messages all the time in Thailand via my Amaysim SIM connected through AIS, with data roaming turned off.

          • @timhn:

From then onward, you can enable to use that as Data and/or call depend on your plan

Do you mean to receive SMS from your Amaysim number using overseas WiFi or overseas SIMs?

Can you make calls or send SMS from your Amaysim number while overseas?

            • @BuyNow Think Later: Received SMS to my Amaysim number via the telco overseas

I can't call or send SMS from my Amaysim SIM while overseas because never purchase any roaming add-on.

          • @timhn: Note Boost and Telstra users can just connect to any wifi instead. Wifi calling and sms is enable on most ip by Telstra. Optus and Vodafone blocks all ip outside of Australia.

The free sms roaming without paying roaming is hit and miss to be honest. You need to turn roaming on to get sms. Your normally get an sms from your provider. I found personally the worst to be Optus in Singapore.

            Note all MVNO allow roaming.

  • Is amaysim mvno same quality as full optus network? Or lower teir?

  • OnePass Mobile deal have more data (200 vs 360 GB) for similar price https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910024. They're on Optus 4G only though, not 4G+.

    • +1

Apparently this is for people who needs international call.

    • No eSIM with OnePass

  • I do wonder if the international calls are a misprint. Not in the critical summary.

    • +1

It was mentioned on OzB last year that the SIM sold at Woolworths includes international calls but not the online one from amaysim.

  • Already on Amaysim, and coming up to renewal for my last 365 package.

Anyone have tips on getting a discounted renewal?

    • You can ask for a discount from amaysim, or port out into $2 Telstra SIM and port back into amaysim.

  • Im currently with catch-connect (onepass mobile) do i have to port out first?

    • +1

You would be fine porting into amaysim.

  • Very handy. My 12 months of Woolworths mobile is expiring soon, this will do nicely. Thanks Woolies!

  • Is there is a time limit that I need to activcate it? THANKS

    • +2

The amaysim SIM cards usually state "Activate SIM within 12 months of purchase".

      • thanks

  • -1

    is it available for e-sim?

    • You can buy this and convert to eSIM as per comment here.

      • +1

thx, looks like this is the one I go this year

  • -1

My Boost plan will be expired by 19 Aug 2025. This Amaysim plan looks good but can i activate it only after 19 Aug? When is the due date for activation?

    • +1

Yes. The amaysim SIM cards usually state "Activate SIM within 12 months of purchase".

      • thanks

    • +1

Online equivalent SIM does not include international calls to 28 countries.

  • Lyca is having 200GB for $150 (part of EOFY sale) with 39 countries international call.
    https://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/bundle/medium/?m=12&newUser…

Shouldn't this better compared to Amaysim $175 if you can't claim 10% discount.

With 10% discount and 2000EDR Amaysim is $147.5 and beat Lyca by $2.5
