My Boost plan will be expired by 19 Aug 2025. This Amaysim plan looks good but can i activate it only after 19 Aug? When is the due date for activation?

    • +1

Yes. The amaysim SIM cards usually state "Activate SIM within 12 months of purchase".

      • thanks

    • +1

Online equivalent SIM does not include international calls to 28 countries.

  • Lyca is having 200GB for $150 (part of EOFY sale) with 39 countries international call.
    https://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/bundle/medium/?m=12&newUser…

Shouldn't this better compared to Amaysim $175 if you can't claim 10% discount.

With 10% discount and 2000EDR Amaysim is $147.5 and beat Lyca by $2.5

Not sure if this is state specific? I scanned at checkout and it was 179 with no indication of reward points

    • Same in victoria as well.

      • The deal is in the VIC catalog for this week. NSW too.

        • +1

@currentfad @toothfish @wavesgreen The link in the post is from the online catalogue in VIC. The online catalogue shows this offer for everyone in Australia when I checked different states.

However this offer which started today is not showing up in-store when I checked the Woolworths app with different locations. Unfortunately Woolworths haven't updated their system to reflect the online catalogue.

I haven't been to the store and unsure if the physical catalogue shows this offer. If it does, you can try asking staff to match this offer. You would have to contact WW/EDR to give you the points.

          Will report to the mods.

          • @trixieb: Exactly. I'd be shoving the catalog under the CS desk staffer's nose.

and unsure if the physical catalogue shows this offer

I've never found the physical catalog to not match the one in the app.

            • @wavesgreen: It's available in WA too according to the online catalogue.

Unfortunately can't get for free as this item is not eligible under Scanning Code of Practice. Lol

              • @trixieb: I've found WW to be absolute scum when it comes to granting free products when they scan wrong. My local would always just give it to me at the correct price. So I stopped shopping there.

Only ever get things on Half Price or decent deals with bonus EDR points etc, usually only sim deals like this one.

              • @trixieb: it’s been $179 in app since last week, but show staff catalogue for price override to $175

      • @currentfad @toothfish SIM card scans at $179 (not $175). You will need to ask staff to refund the difference. 2000 EDR points are given and will appear in your EDR app. Several members have confirmed they got 10% off with Everyday Extra membership and also paid with discounted gift cards.

Thanks mate and all who shared their experience 👍

        • -1

By the way, where is 10% discount is coming from? Is it a separate deal?

          • +1

@SickDmith: It's a membership for 10% discount once a month with Woolworths. You can sign up here and get one month free if you have never joined before. Can use the 10% off to buy this SIM card.

        • If I buy 2, will I get 4000 EDR points? or it's just on the 1st buy per customer?
It says in T&C : Limit of 3 cards per day per EDR member. So I guess you can collect upto 6000 EFR points by buying 3 pack

          • +1

@hothot: You will get 4000 EDR points for 2 or 6000 EDR points for 3. Unfortunately you will have to sort out the refund for the price discrepancy scanning at $179 instead of $175. See this comment.

        Same in Queensland

Hey Team, I can confirm the Everyday extras 10% discount can be used for this purchase. The teller first said cannot use but i asked them to recheck and then got the option to use and i accepted it. I also got the extra points for 3 cards purchased. For payment method, I also used woolies gift cards to pay for it which I got at 4% off as a RACV member.

    • Thanks, good to know. Can you use split payment for gift cards (multiple woolies gift card) or does the whole amount need to be covered by a single gift card?

      • unsure mate. the teller asked me how much was in my gift card. i had one with $200 so used it. didnt try splitting etc.

    • @kronosxmate Can I please ask which state you are in and that you bought today for $175 (before 10% off) with 2000 EDR points? A few people have reported the SIM cards didn't scan correctly and without the EDR points today. The offer is in the catalogue online for everyone but not showing correctly in the WW app. Thanks.

hey mate, I am in Melbourne, VIC. went to my local woolies and it was actually advertised for $179 and not $175 as in the weekly catalogue or online on this post. I didnt realise that until I came back home to post in the comments. I am going back tomorrow to claim my $4 back.
So I bought 3 SIMs, 1x $179 down from $240 200GB Amaysim with 2000 points + 2x $15 down from $40 80GB Amaysim offer with 600 points each. Got a total of 3200 bonus points and 210 normal points. it also shows in my everyday rewards app.

Thanks for the update. Hope you get your refund for the difference.

          • +1

@trixieb: Hey mate, I got my refund. $4 back. Took a bit of standing my ground but got it! WooHoo! 😁

        • @kronosxmate Are you able to please check for us the expiry on your $175 SIM?

It's in very small print at the bottom of the packet. In the past, I saw "Activate SIM within 12 months of purchase".

Is it still the same? Thanks.

          • +1

@trixieb: Sorry mate, didn't get a chance to look at the pack yesterday. Will do it tonight & get back to you.

          • +1

@trixieb: got mine and there is written that you need to activate within 12m

Purchased today in Brisbane, scanned at $179. Asked the staff at self checkout about the price mismatch and showed them the catalogue price vs scanned price. She went and sent the store manager, who reacted as if she doesn't know what to do and when I asked to price match their catalogue, she said she doesn't know how to. I gave up on her and paid the $179 instead.

P.S - paid using wish gift card purchased from my insurance wellness rewards deal discounted to 8%. so effectively $179-EDR Plus 10% and 2000 bonus points and 8% off with gc - roughly $140.

    • Thanks for the update. Can't believe Woolworths would not refund the $4 difference as advertised.

      • +1

I think it's more they don't know how, they get blocked/warning when they try to refund gift cards and sim cards, but then I think it's like they might not be able to override the price? Gift cards and sim cards behave differently as products compared to everything else in the store.

        • Yeah at two Woolies they both scanned at $179 and both said they couldn’t override as its “not their product” - I guess they mean it is set by head office

          • +1

@Points747: True OzBargainer: refuses to pay $4 over catalogue (despite massive discount on rrp) and drives to another store

            • +1

@Points747: I stood my ground and got my $4 refunded 😁

              • @kronosxmate: Same…. It took 3 visits to the store, different managers all telling me they couldn’t… then finally they agreed to over-ride the price

Only when they adjusted the price the bonus reward points disappeared!!! Good thing I noticed (and convinced them just to cash me out the $4)!!

Then I paid with a discounted gift card!

  • Bought the item at the Brisbane CBD and it came to $179. The store employee mentioned that sometimes the prices don’t match the online catalogue. I’ll check with the online chat to see what they think.

    • -1

Do you have any update on this?

      • Woolworths has raised a request, and the store manager will contact me. Let’s see!

  • Thanks OP, can I buy this now during the sale and activate in late July 2025? I will be porting in from Kogan mobile prepaid.

    • +1

Yes. Please see the update in the post description regarding the price scanning at $179 instead of $175.

      • Thank you OP!
I just got confused with the "Price valid for first renewal till 24/6/25, ongoing is $240/200GB/year"

Makes sense now - just means discount is only for first time till 24/6/25 then normal price after.

  • +2

Took a peek inside one of these packs at Woolworths, there was a link to amaysim.com.au/240 which has all the details.

"ONLY AVAILABLE IN PARTICIPATING WOOLWORTHS STORES"

Which explains the difference between this and the usual $240 amaysim plan

  • one of my household have everyday membership thing…can i use it for discount? just show them to scan everyday membership card? and plus also have gift card on top of that which are 3.5% discount…u guys paid $17x or $15x after 10% discount thing from everyday membership…

    • Yes. The card with the Everyday Extra membership for 10% off will get the 2000 EDR points too.

  • +1

This sim now shows as $175 in the WW app (it was still $179 as of yesterday) so hopefully it should scan at the proper price for people going forward.

  • +3

The price is scanning correctly now, can confirm I could checkout at self-serve, use 10% discount, and bonus points were credited immediately.
