Extra Perks:

  • Priority Pass: Unlimited complimentary access to over 1,200 Priority Pass lounges around the world for you and one guest.

Edit: Spoke to Citi live chat, they state the hard requirement of income has been removed. I was told I would still be eligible for the points despite currently holding a Citi rewards card. Looks like they've removed the one promo a year cap for this card, YMMV of course.

  • Anyone knows how long Rewards Points are valid in the account after cancelling the card? I basically want to wait until there's a Velocity transfer bonus; gonna miss the current round unfortunately.

    • +1

They are lost when you close. Here's an extract from my closure notice letter, after I closed a Rewards card:

As disclosed at the time of your account closure request, any reward Points that were not redeemed have now been forfeited.

I had zero points on this card, so not an issue for me.

      • Thanks. Can confirm after calling them.

I called to also ask if the rewards points can be transferred/maintained if i opened another citi rewards points card of a different tier (e.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725401), and they said yes it would.

That'll probably be strategy to wait out bonus velocity as this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725401 is fee free for the first year and isn't excluded from holding the Prestige as far as the T/Cs go.

        • +1

Just another point, they remove access to the closed card immediately too both in the app and online, so you can't see any remaining balance, statements etc. Bit annoying.

  • +1

does anyone know if you can set these up as 'business' credit cards - having the liability go to the business, not the individual? ANZ do a Black for Business, I'd like the citi prestige equivalent of that setup!

Update: citi only offer corporate cards to customers with existing private banking arrangements, so not suitable for small business :/ ANZ Black for Business it is :/

…that PayAll feature was going to be amazing, oh well…

  • looks like they removed the annual fee rebate option of 200 points for $1 in rewards. now there are only two fixed option at the rate of 400 points for $1

  • Applied on Monday night, as of Thursday morning still "Pending for Assessment". Is this the norm?

    • +3

call them on hotline and ask if anything is pending. Mine got done 30 min later

      • +1

Thanks, called them on 1300 130 865 and they said it is still under review. They gave me the 17 digit application ID no. which you can lookup at the bottom of the website and it splits out Code 72 which means nothing unless I call them. I'll call again tomorrow.

        • +3

try calling the Citibank verification hotline (1800 807 138) (Monday to Friday, office hours).

I applied Tuesday and just called now to ask if there's anythign else I need to do. The agent just verified my income and employment status and got approved 10 mins after the call

          • @BuyNowThinkLater: Got the same answer as timhn below but they also said I should expect an answer tomorrow.

          • @BuyNowThinkLater: Thanks for this, will try on Monday.

I called the 1300 number instead of 1800. Epic facepalm.

      • +1

Crazy how different it is for people. My application has taken two weeks and four phone calls to try to resolve. Today I finally uploaded my documents for the third time and was told that they'll do it now and have an outcome today or tomorrow. It's been a pretty abysmal process.

        • +1

I was approved within an hour after calling 1800 807 138 for the first time.

        • +1

Its been a week for me and 4 calls. I've never been a NAB or Citi customer before. Can that be the reason?

  • +1

    Decent deal.

    Instantly approved also.

Applied this morning, got a call 20 mins later to confirm some income details.

    Approved 10mins later.

Pretty happy with the speed and overall experience.

    • -1

WTF. I applied last night and still heard nothing.

Edit: Called the hotline and the agent said the application is with the Decision Team. Hrm, i guess they found i had too many applications with Citi/NAB.

      • +1

Used Citi Premier, NAB Qantas and NAB Rewards, as well as BOQ Platinum (issued by NAB) within 12 months. They didn't seem to create any issues in getting this approved

        • +1

It took me 3 weeks or more. I called initially and then when I called again it was instantly approved.

  • +1

Yay, finally got an SMS said my application has been approved. This time they took longer than normal to approve my application. I guess the decision team were debated whether to approve for a guy just cancelled his other Rewards card and immediately apply for a higher tier card.

  • +1

Anyone managed to add the card to Apple wallet without the physical card? I was able to do this previously with the lowly Rewards card - added to wallet on the same day when i got the approval email.

With this card, I'm getting the error "contact your bank". Not sure due to a high credit amount that Citibank blocked it from activate digitally.

    • +1

You cannot until you active the card.

  • Has anyone received the bonus points? If so, did you get it right after you hit the minimum spend or with your first statement?

  • Still not received the card, got approved 2 weeks ago. Anybody in same boat? worried the post put in wrong mail box now. I hope the minimum spend is after activation date.

    • +1

60 days after approval date - 2nd line in the description.

Perhaps call them to reissue the card.

      • Thanks!

    • It took 3 weeks for my Citi Rewards card (different deal) to be delivered to metro Brisbane. I was approved 27 Sept and it arrived mid October.

      • Did you get additional time for the offer? Or are they holding you to the approval date clause?

        • I only had a 3k minimum spend and I did it in a week anyway so it didn't matter for me anyway.

    • Did you follow up with them? It's been over a week for me and I've yet to receive mine.

      • Got it 2 days ago. Apparently for me they missed my unit number on the address but sent again via express post post after calling.

  • Anyone know if Citi Prestige is part of Citi Mortgage plus program where you get the annual card fee waived?

  • confirming Diners club Does NOT have lounge access on this card (i erroneously was told it did on a previous call to them)

    • Were you able to confirm at a lounge? Seems like CS reps are giving out a lot of incorrect info.

  • +1

Applied this morning, got a call this arvo asking why I decided to cancel a recent Citibank rewards card a few months ago…went from that to the ANZ black card, now onto this.
Basically said I was just looking for a card with better features/rewards, approval email came 10mins after the conversation!
My main banking is with NAB if that makes any difference.

  • +1

With the Diner's companion card, is the exchange rate they use for foreign currency transactions published anywhere?

  • +2

Has anyone applied for this and also applied for the Citibank Personal Loan and got approved?

    • +3

Decided to bite the bullet despite having applied for the personal loan about 5 weeks earlier. Got approved in less than 10 minutes after applying.

      • I did similar about 6 weeks between the 2 applications.
Just looking at the other citi deals and none of them seem to have exclusion periods. Thinking to go for another Citi card…How many have you got?

  • +1

Wow. Just received card in the mail. Impressive for Citibank (and AusPost for ontime delivery) as they approved me on last Friday afternoon.

  • Geeze that 3.4% international transaction fee makes the card a lot less appealing.

    • I think you can only find less fee or 0% on low end credit or debit card.

      • +1

The companion Diner's card has no international transaction fees but there's a question about the exchange rate used. See my post just above.

  • +1

Has anyone applied for this within 2 months of applying for the Citi personal loan with the 150k velocity points offer?
I really want one of these but debating wether tk wait the usual 3 months or not.

    • +2

      Check above

    • I tried and was rejected from the personal loan

  • +3

Has anyone book their Transfer Servive? $100 to use each calendar year is nice for a trip into city or airport.

    • Be interested in this as I can't seem to get the Citi Concierge number from anyone. The number on the terms and conditions takes me to a standard menu then when I get an operator they give me a number that doesn't work

      • +2

        Tried 1800 782 948 ?

        • -1

How long is the wait time for Citi Concierge? Previous poster has said it took them 45 minutes to book a hotel he could had done it for 10 minutes himself.

          • @xdigger: I have also been unable to get through now, even on the number above - it just goes to Nab. What number are people using?

          • @xdigger: Was an instant response in my case.

    • +1

Is it calendar year or anniversary year?

    • +1

They won't confirm if it's available next year which sucks.

  • Did anyone manage to get the points after the 7.5k spent?

  • +1

unlike reward which lets you to add card to apple wallet, this won't let you until you receive the physical card. Also, don't immediately put 20k on payall as soon as you get it as citi's fraud team may think it being fraudulent and block your account. This happened to me on my reward so i had to call them to unblock. put on some ordinary purchases like groceries or utils then put payall.

  • +1

Call me greedy but I wouldn't mind it if our Prestige cards had a similar offer to this one that was just posted:

Citibank Premier Qantas - Earn up to 40,000 bonus Qantas Points When You Add an Additional Cardholder and They Spend

  • Hi fellow Ozbargainers, I just got this card and was originally intending to churn the 300,000 Rewards Points and then close to get a pro-rata fee refund of the $350, but am wondering whether its worthwhile keeping the card for a year if I can Payall $20k monthly? Is the $350 annual fee worth the Rewards Points I can get from Payall-ing $20k monthly? Might do a few flights to make use of Priority Pass lounges and that's about it. Thanks.

    • +2

i am not sure if the annual fee can be pro-rata refunded, never heard citi do it. If they don't then keep it as close to 12 months and yes do 20k payall per month to maximize points. I think cashback and pay-with-points has worst $/point value so either convert to airpoints or get gift cards.

      • Thanks mate, was going the Colesworth gift card route as I use Qantas.

      • +3

You have to ask them for the refund. I closed the card then go to webchat and asked. Got a refund ~$130 when closed my Premier card after used it nearly 5 months.

  • good idea to transfer to flybys?

    • +1

once you activate the card, it should open up rewards page. from there you can check conversion rate. so check it there.

  • +2

Was going to churn and burn this one but got targeted for an opt in offer for- 5% cashback (up to $100) on eligible retail shopping when you spend $500 or more with your Citi Credit Card between 25 Nov and 2 Dec 2022. Opt in by 22 Nov 2022.

    Anyone else?

  • +11

Got my 300k points today, same day as my first statement. Can confirm I fulfilled the spend requirement via Payall.

    • +1

Now I will have to wait for my statement

      • +1

It was exactly a month from my approval email.

        • +1

Got the points today on the day of the generation of the first statement

    • Got the same today… received 300k bonus on my first statement after payall

    • I spent money via payall and also bought 2-3k worth of gift cards from Coles still didn’t receive bonus points in my statement:(

      • They weren't in the statement - they were in the app and online at the time the statement was produced.

        • Yes, received them a few hours after the statement was released.

  • -1

Does anyone know if purchases via PayPal would count?

  • Has anyone signup for the Priority Pass yet? I remember with Premier card, you must signup via a special URL. Cant seem to find anything similarly for this card.

    • +2

Yep, i found the link and code in my app. If you click on the card, within the app, it should give you the details.

      • +1

        Ah cool. Thanks.

    • I had to obtain the signup details via customer service.

      For anyone else wondering:
      https://prioritypass.com/prestigeaumc
      CTPRSG333

  • I'm surprised how now one have mentioned how vague the success email/SMS are.

SMS: Dear XYZ, Congratulations! Your Citi Prestige Card application has been approved. Please refer to the email we have sent for details. Thanks for choosing Citi.

    EMAIL:
    You're on your way.

    Dear XYZ,

Congratulations, your Citi Prestige Card application has been approved!

To find out what happens next, and get to know the great features included with your Citi Prestige Card.

Please read the Terms and Conditions and other important information for your credit card under the 'View the terms and conditions' section.

T&C's: nothing relevant about what happens next.

So all they tell you is you are approved. They don't tell you the card is being sent, how long it will take, credit limit, or any other actual next steps… Was that just me?

    • +1

Are you sure that was all in the email?

My email from them started as above then a Financial Table that including all the relevant details for the account - credit limit, annual rate, interest free period etc.

      • You're right about that table and credit limit, I wasn't actually too concerned about that as I wanted the minimum. But nothing in that table was particularly useful to me in comparison to them actually telling me if they are sending me a card. Or what details need to use in the app (linked at the very bottom of the email - missed that originally too) to check my transactions once I have it. Or how I could add it to google pay or apple pay and start using it now before it arrives. Etc.

  • Trying to understand PayAll as I'm new to Citi. I have setup a PayAll payment of $40 to re-imburse a friend for dinner and it says I will receive 40 points. Isn't this too easy? What's stopping me paying him $1000 and he paying back the $1000 and both of us getting 1000 points?

Are people able to pay Council and water rates using PayAll? These invoices don't have bank account details on them. Is there a trick?

    • You dont need to pay council fee via payall
You can use credit card to pay BPay via Citi app

      • You don't earn points using BPay but you don't get charged the merchant fee. Used to have the Latitude Infinity card that gave points on BPay payments, those were the days!

        • +2

Use Beem It to Bpay to get points because it appears as normal transaction in credit card.

    • Nothing. Max out your payall for free points.

  • applied last Thursday still no responses until now.

    • called citi this morning and got approval within 5mins

  • Hey peeps who've used this for ATO payments via Payall.

Question: I've schedule a Payall payment a day earlier than the ATO due date. Just wondering if this one day lead time is enough to process and hit the ATO to have an "Effective date" before or on the ATO due date? Can't make it any earlier due to the 7-day advance setup time for Payall unfortunately.

Any experiences about how long Payall payments need to get fully processed? Thanks!

    • +1

I am unsure as I have only scheduled my first.

If your payment to the ATO is a day or two late you shoudoky receive a penalty or interest payment due. If so, it would be cancelled as it would be so minimal. From my experience from many years ago..

      • Basically set up an installment payment plan, and it would only allow me a 8 day lead from ATO. Citi requires a minimum of 7 day payment lead for Payall.

Called Citi and they sounded pretty clueless about the processing time on their end -_-

Just gonna wing it, unless someone has some input about it taking longer. Thanks again.
