  • Priority Pass: Unlimited complimentary access to over 1,200 Priority Pass lounges around the world for you and one guest.

        • Thanks, I might have to review when my transaction ends and extend it to end on Oct 2023

I'm currently transferring 15k each month so that's approx $66 in reward points so it almost pays for my Superloop NBN

    • Checkout this comment by chillysbags

Ppl have been told it's extended to October 2023 but you should double check with citibank directly.

  • What is the income requirement?

    • I just called them - apparently no definite income requirement. She told me to apply and then something along the lines of "they assess if you can afford making the repayments", sorry I can't repeat her exact words.

  • General CitiBank question - do they pro rata the annual fee for credit cards? I’ve had the Premier for 2 months and would cancel it for this.

    • Yes, unless they've changed after the NAB merge, I've always received pro-rata from Citi.

      • +1

With Citi, i believe you have to request for that - at least with my last experience with them.

  • Can’t decide between this and converting to emirates or getting a card with QFF and booking rewards flights
QFF is very difficult to book business rewards, costs 240k + 2k tax to book a return to Middle East
Meanwhile emirates costs 2k for an economy ticket and 120k points to upgrade to business
Thinking of ditching qantas and going with Citi then converting to emirates (3:1 transfer)

    • +1

As a QF gold i found business rewards flights non existent so I stopped accruing qantas points, total waste of time IMO. But YMMV

      • Minimum 6 months, often 9 months+ advance booking required for QF business reward booking.

  • I am stuck between this card and the ANZ Black 160 points for existing customers.

    Has anyone compared the two?

    • +2

Apply both at the same time
Credit check might not able to know the other card exist :)

      • Hehe. If only I had enough to spend across both cards :-)

      • Actually the RWDS site compares the benefits on the two. Spend more on citi and get more rewards

        • Just on rewards aspect Citi might be better
But if you are after lounge access
Citi Prestige give unlimited priority pass which worth a lot if you do lots of international travels
ANZ qantas black points count towards Qantas Plus Plus membership
And getting complimentary Qantas Club if you get 350k points

So at the end depends on your lifestyle and needs

    • which is the ANZ offer for existing customers? Do you have a link?
      Thanks

  • What have people used Citi PayAll for? Understand we can't use it to pay a home loan… But assume practically, you can send $$ to your own bank account for your monthly rent etc, can you just send yourself $$ for one off expenses like flights to europe? Does PayAll count as a transaction toward the 7.5k spend? Thanks All

    • +2

I can't see how Citi can tell anything about the destination bank account,so you can pretty much use it for anything. Regarding counting towards the spend, see my earlier post in this thread.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12755442/redir

    • What have people used Citi PayAll for?

      Try this thread

    • Good question. The other thread didn't really answer whether it could be used for a home loan or not. Just that it "shouldn't", whatever that means.

  • PayAll seems to count towards Minimum Spend

    • Hang on so if I use PayAll for my ATO tax bill, I’ll still hit minimum spend and get the points?

      • Check my post just above.

        • Amazing, thanks!

        • +1

How many points per dollar for Payall. Last year, I used payall and beemit for ATO tax. The Beemit transfers earnt twice as many points (with each beemit entry showing an additional "bonus points" amount in the points transaction list). I am guessing they were classified as retail spend but can't be sure. This was for a CitiPremier free for life card if anyone is interested.

    • doesn't payall attract any cash advance fee and interest?

      • +2

Correct, no fees until Oct 2023

        • thanks for that!

        • where do you see this? i checked with Citi online and they advised its only until Oct this year

          • @qq830821: We received an email stating an extension until Oct 2023.

          • +1

@qq830821: screenshot of the email: https://ibb.co/JFP6BBz

            • @littlesoldier: Thank you muchly. Strange it is still showing Oct 22 on their website.

              Hopefully this is not targetted

              • -1

@qq830821: this card specifically has it until oct 23, even lists that on the offer page

oct 22 is for other citi cards with payall

              • @qq830821: Any luck with this?

I just called Citi and they confirmed on their website that it is only valid till Oct 22

  • -2

So you guys are cancel the card after getting first half of the points or will continue to keep it for next year to get 2nd part of the points?

    • +1

It seems like the points are awarded together. Where does it say in two halves?

  • For this card, you earn 2 Citi reward Points per $1 on Eligible Transactions made directly with major: supermarkets, petrol outlets and national retailers. May I know what is considered a national retailer ? Does Citi provide any list on their website for specific retailers ? I guess national retailers will include Kogan or Amazon, right ?

  • Can anyone confirm if paying council rates using Payall, beemit or sniip works with this card?

    • not sure but you can use payall to pay yourself (to non-citi bank account) then use that money to pay bills.

  • did they extend payall 0% fee promo to oct 2023? pretty sure it was oct 2022 or is it only for specific cards or customers?

    • +1

For all Citi PayAll payments set up between 1 April 2021 to 31 October 2023 (the Period), the Citi PayAll fee will be reduced to 0%

      from the offer page

How long did people take to get approved? Submitted 2 days ago, with evidence. Status just says in progress.

    • +1

Within a couple of hours yesterday afternoon.

      • Just got the approval.

OMG $41.5k limit. That's way too much!

        • +4

lol that's why you always ask for the minimum

          • @[Deactivated]: That wasn't an option here I think.

Anyway looks like I can request a reduction in the app. Will wait for the card first though.

            • @gadgetguy: It was an option when you were applying. I always go for the minimum as I just churn, unless of course the minimum won't cover the school fees that I time opening new cards to coincide with.

              • @carlenet: I think it said either accept the credit limit they assign, or pick your own, and I didn't know what the minimum limit was. I don't believe there was a "minimum" option.

[EDIT] Just noticed, the minimum limit was posted on the deal. My bad.

    • +3

Mine is still not approved (or rejected), application date 04-Oct
Have submitted all the documents at the time of application, but no update what-so-ever

      • How long did it end up taking?

        • It was eventually approved, I think around a week.
They did called me to confirm some details on my application (my employment details)

    • +1

I submitted application 2 days ago
Login to check the status, still showing as "Pending for assessment"
Did a Live Chat and been told it is still processing

Didnt receive any calls or emails about the status tho

      • How long did it end up taking?

        • Nothing happen until I called the Citibank verification hotline (1800 807 138)
After verification got card successful message within 2 days

          • @littlesoldier: Cool, thanks. Did you upload files as part of the application?

            • +1

              @Gumbootboy: Yes I did
When I call the verification hotline the lady asked me some questions regarding the documents I have uploaded (eg. payslips)

  • Anyone getting rejected from credit card applications lately?

I've been rejected twice (St Geroge and Qantas premier) in a row even though I've never defaulted and my income is way more than enough to service the credit amount.

The only thing I can think of is that I've been churning for the last few years and have churned through 14ccs already.
Not sure if that's the reason.
They put down the reject reasoning as: past relatinship with lender? what does that even mean. I've always paid on time and have never had any issues with the bank (and vice versa).

Would like to know if anyone is experiencing this as well. Thanks!

    • +2

I had been accepted for numerous CC's but got auto rejected for the CBA cashback card which had the lowest income requirement of all the cards I had applied for. Who knows at the end of the day what they are deciding.

    • +3

You would have been denied for Qantas Premier if you had held a Citi/NAB product recently and closed. I believe they are more strict now on their white label products (such as Qantas Money, Coles Financial Services, Kogan etc) after the takeover from NAB. I got flat out denied by Coles Financial earlier this year without even a credit hit, because they saw I closed Citi Premier 3 months earlier.

St George are well known for denying for no apparent reason, probably a similar thing to Citi whereby they most likely check applications internally in the WBC group against Westpac, St George, Bank of Melbourne, Bank of SA. They apparently are also a bit weird about opening a savings account to get the $0 AF offer, and opening a CC shortly after.

After the outcomes of the royal commission, probably need to be a lot more vigilant when churning cards from the same company/group.

      • Great info. Thanks for sharing mate!

it's crazy how you can qualify for all the requirements but then get outright rejected for a completely different reason that's not listed.
At the end of the day, it just hurts the consumers' credit scores as their credit enquiries pile up for nothing.

      • +1

yeah i dunno i closed a nab card and then opened a citi and qantas card pretty close together (all nab products) without issue

      • I hope this will be the case for me as it has been processed without an update. I will be quite annoyed if it shows on my credit just because they dodn't want me as a customer because I held their card previously.

  • I'm wondering if I can use PayAll to my own bank account to meet the $7500 spend immediately?

Edit: I also have a Citi Premier card but will check if I can get this new Prestige with bonus points.

    • +1

      Yes you can use payall.
You can still get the points even if you have another card, but getting the card may be difficult.

  • +1

Surely a premium card, with lounge passes, hotel benefits etc, its a bit tight of them to have a 3.4% international transaction fee and an assessment % fee too…

  • Is it possible to convert the 300,000 Citi Rewards Points into cashback on the credit card? I shop at my local IGA so don't really need the $1500 Coles/Woolies vouchers. Suggestions?

    • Cashback is apart of their rewards system but doesn't give anywhere near the yield that gift cards give. You can redeem them for other brands like Apple, JB, Good Guys, Dans etc.

  • Can you convert the citi points from a prestige card to Asia miles?

  • Applied yesterday and got approved today after submitting the recent payslip.

    • Did they email or call you to submit?
I went to the application status and has no way to add more documents

      • +1

You will get a confirmation email first with the link to check the status. From that link you can upload additional docos. They also called me this morning to provide bank statement for name check. After that my app went into additional check and by 7pm AEDT I got an email confirming that the card is approved

        • Thanks mate

When I go to the check status link, this is all what I can see: https://ibb.co/JzYxYbs

There's no option to upload documents either

When I call Citi number they couldnt even find my application

          • +1

@littlesoldier: Then wait for them to call back and provide them any additional docos while on the call itself. That way they will be able to process the app faster (hopefully).

              @prisonmike: I called the Citibank verification hotline 2 days ago (1800 807 138)
and the lady on the line has confirmed a few income verifications

Today late afternoon received application success SMS and email

  • Is expiry date actually 2023?

  • +1

Has any got their card delivered yet? How long did it take once your were approved?

    • +1

Usually just about 5-7 business days. If you have Citibank app (only if existing customer), you can add the digital card to Wallet.

      • My card has been added to my existing Citi app but the card is marked inactive. So it's no use until the physical card arrives.

        • Is it an Android phone? It didn't work for me on Android phone until I use the app on iphone

          • @timhn: So what "Wallet" are you referring to - Apple? Or you can add to Google Wallet on iOS devices?

TBH I'm only going to use this for PayAll so I need to wait anyway.

            • @gadgetguy: Added to Apple's wallet on iPhone via Citibank app installed on iPhone.

Added to G-wallet on Android phone via the Google Wallet app with the physical card.

          • @timhn: I’m on iPhone and an existing Citi customer. The only option available is to activate the physical card.
When I try to add it to my Apple wallet it says that it’s failed. Is there a seperate section to activate the digital card?

            • @ozbargain2019: I believe it was under the card's Manage button.

              • @timhn: Strange, nothing there for me. Under the manage card button it says ‘Card Disabled’ with nothing to click on and then goes straight down to track your card.
Will just have to wait the 5-7 days

  • Am i eligible for points with this card if I have just closed my Suncorp Clear Plat, which is provided and issued by Citigroup? And I also closed a citi issued Qantas Premier Plat card 10 months ago?

  • Approved late Wed, card in hand the following Mon morning. Excellent!

  • Anyone knows when the points are credited? I've met my spend.

  • from T&Cs: All Citi PayAll payments and Citi PayAll Fees we charge to your account will be added to the retail purchase balance and the Retail APR will apply to them.
Can anyone confirm if the current payall fee of 2% having been waived, the retail APR will apply even if it is paid in full by the bill due date?

  • Anyone knows if I got both Premier and Prestige
After getting the 300k rewards point and cancelled the Prestige card
Will the points still remains in the reward balance?
