  • Damn it just bought something yesterday

    • +3

      Return it and rebuy?

    • Same here, $400 battery, already installed, not juggling 27kg batteries again :(

      • +11

buy same one, then return using old receipt

    • damn it, same

    1. For online orders or instore special orders, the order will be deemed complete and added to the
accumulated spend total at the time the order is received for home deliveries or at the time the order
      is collected at store

    2. Credit will be applied on Tuesday 18th October, 2022 and expire 28 days following the application of
credit on Tuesday 15th November, 2022

I don't quite understand what this means.

So if I place an online special order, and I don't collect it by 18 October, the order will not be eligible for this promotion?

    • +1

      That is my interpretation also

    • Buy something online today, wait until the 18th of October and get 20% back as credit.

Buy something tomorrow online or in-store, wait until the 18th of October and get 20% back as credit.

This credit will expire on the 15th of November. Those conditions don't mention a time frame to pick up the order up.

      • -1

"The order will be deemed complete at the time the order is received or collected at store"

That reads to me as though it will not be eligible if you don't pick it up by Saturday this weekend, or at best by 18 October.

        • Okay I see what you're saying, best to pick it up straight away then. If your schedule doesn't allow for this though, then I would chat with them through their live chat to clarify your concern.

    • +3

Check with their Live Chat. Even if it is the case, I don't think it warrants a neg vote: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

    • +1

Orders aren't processed for pick-up until they are picked up, seems pretty reasonable? Would be difficult for them to track orders if they just disappeared once filled and waiting for you…

  • +6

Worse than just 20% off :(

    • +2

Yep. Instead of saving 20% of your money, you are getting the 20% as store credit which you need to spend on something else later. So this deal is only good for items that you don't normally see getting discount at SCA.

    • I think better, you can stack it with current discounts. But i know I’ll spend the money credit I get, maybe others won’t.

  • -8

    Severe restrictions in T&Cs.

Available on purchases made online 7th October; in store & online 8th October 2022.

But completion of order is only when order is collected from store, or delivered to home.

Not worth the hassle, when SCA has 20% storewide regularly anyway.

    • +2

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with what you say and I personally will be waiting for that 20% off spend, it's not worth negging the deal over. Comment and move along is my attitude to this.

    • +1

Not worth the hassle, when SCA has 20% storewide regularly anyway.

Yes, but this stacks. I bought car stands that were discounted from $89.99 to $39.99 PLUS I get 20% credit.

  • +1

Hmm interested as I need a new battery. They have them 20% off at the moment so this stacks right?

    • +1

Nothing in the terms to exclude discounted items, so assuming it applies to all purchases.

      • Yeah anyway I did a click and collect. The dude who served me wasn’t sure if it went through so I have to wait until the 18th to be certain. Spent $550 so I want my 20%..

        • I grabbed a couple of discounted Nulon oils/fluids, the 3x brake cleaner bundle, and a couple others things up to $100 and used a gift card, the guy that served me said I'd get $25 credit in a couple of days. I really don't see why they'd exclude anything - besides the obvious things in the T&C's (gift cards, etc).

  • +9

Bro just give me a straight % off - not a fan of these good guys short expiry style store credit gimmicks

    • SCA probably need to move stock and get some liquidity

      • Given its store credit, they are essentially just ensuring future purchases, nothing new here really.

    • +3

It's stacking with discounts already in place .. That's a good thing.

  • +2

sweet, was oo-ing and aah-ing about these https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-car-stands-pin-3…

    • +1

Yeah get these, they'll last forever. I've had mine for years. Good price too!

    • Yep have and use these too, very solid

    • +1

Those pin style ones are super annoying to use.

Unless you really need 3ton, I'd go for a ratchet style one like these: https://www.tradetools.com/renegade-industrial-2-tonne-vehic…

    • But this off the eBay store for $5 off using coupon.

  • can I combine this with a price match?

    • let us know haha

      • Unfortunately no dice.
I was looking at a headunit they could price match from 600 down to 500, but they couldnt give me 20% credit of 500, only from full RRP so they were able to offer me the unit at 480

        • i don't know anyone pimps up their car with head units anymore

          • @Poor Ass: I need a headunit with android auto. My current factory spec doesnt even have bluetooth

            • @jundullah: no no no no need

old school stuff is the best

ya I wouldn't get a headunit from supercheap … just cheaper elsewhere

  • +1

2% cashrewards cash back online orders too

  • +1

I actually need something from SCA that wasn't urgent, so will pop-in tomorrow and pick it up. Cheers OP.

  • +2

Would rather 10% off than 20% back as store credit.

What the hell am I going to do with store credit that's got one month expiry on it.

    • Spare headlight bulbs?

      • Modern cars have gone all enclosed LED…

    • You could buy an oil filter for your car, give it to your mechanic (if you use one) when you get it serviced to save a few bucks.

SCA also sell camping gear, tools. Fluffy dice, smelly things.

  • +1

Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather just 20% off

  • Bought the clearence impact wrench, seem to be a deal

Me brothers friend works theregets 50percent off

  • Good timing. I need a new car battery and they have a special going on for them as well

  • +1

The credit has just come through, thanks for sharing it with us, but just be mindful as they will expire on 15th Nov 2022.

    • My credit has not come though and I purchased something 8 Oct online.

Looks like one item was not in stock it had to be ordered which arrived 10 Oct. As such I missed out. DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
